I Will Always Love You Chapter: 88
Bina POV
I can't believe this. I've been waiting for him for almost forty five minutes and I still haven't heard a word. I tried busying myself with exploring, but I didn't want to wander too much on someone else's property. I decided to sit down under some shade for a few minutes, and then, if he didn't come, I would leave. The next moment, I saw Latoya coming towards me.
“You're a persistent one... Bina, right?"
“Yes?"
“Are you just going to wait here all day? You can come inside if you want, but I don't think that Michael will be back soon, or at all." She said with a slight edge.
“Well, I was waiting for -"
“You know, he's going on a date with Donna, right?" She interrupted. I was a bit taken back, but I regained my composure because she knew how to make up stuff, and stir up drama. I just smirked at her, and said,
“Yeah...right."
“No, I'm serious. He has a date with her coming up this week. He was just talking to me about it this morning."
“Why are you telling me this? Do you want me to leave or something?"
“No, no. Stay if you'd like, but just know that if you're thinking of being anything more than friends, you would be the second woman in the relationship, and I know that you don't want that." I looked at her incredulously, wondering why she was trying to poison me against him. What good could that bring? She then added,
“Why don't you just stay with Nelson? Michael doesn't need a girl that is going to two time him." She said, looking at me as if she revealed a dirty little secret. I said,
“I'm not dating Nelson. I like Michael, and I am only with Michael."
“I know your little secret. I saw you with him this morning and I just told Michael about it. That is the real reason why he's not coming back down."
“Oh, really?" I asked with my eyebrows raised. Looking quite proud of herself, she said,
“Yes." With a smirk.
“Well that's funny because I just told Michael about everything that happened this morning, so unless acting is part of his multifariousness then there is some miscommunication." She looked shocked and caught at the same time, and it seemed to infuriate her.
“Why are you with him? Is it because he is famous or something?"
“No! I would never do that. I'm with him because I like him. Why do I have to have an ulterior motive?" I was angered by her remark and by the fact that she was trying to get to me. It was like every time I avoided her, she came back with a different angle! She dismissed my question and said,
“Well, so that you know, Michael is catching up with his older brothers... if you know what I mean." I looked at her, searching for some recognition. She continued,
“He's...exploring his options. Those girls don't wait out there for nothing." She pointed towards the front gate and continued,
“Haven't you wondered why he doesn't want to be seen out with you? You haven't even been out on a date yet have you? This is for your own good. You're a good girl, and this shouldn't happen to you. I don't want to see it happen to you. My father even said it, you're just a fling to Michael..." I couldn't take it anymore, so I just got up and left. When I reached the back gate, I tried to push it open, but it was locked. Latoya came over to me with a satisfied look, pulled a key from her pocket, and unlocked the gate.
“Tootles! It was nice seeing you." She said with a frown.
I had hot tears about to pop from my eyes and stain my cheeks, so I ran for home. The same fans that were out front before called to me again, but I ignored them. I ran through my gates and locked them, and then locked the front door and ran to my room. What Latoya said was swimming through my head. Although I didn't believe her - I couldn't believe her - there was a part of me that kept on thinking "what if?" I was so angry that I couldn't look or think straight. I didn't want to talk to him at all. I had to sort through my thoughts. I found my walkie talkie, and I took the batteries out and tossed all of it into my bin of junk. I sat down on my bed, flustered. After a few minutes, I heard a knock on my door. My sister popped her head in, and instantly she looked concerned. She ran to me and whispered,
“What's the matter?" I just shook my head, and lay back on my bed. She lay there with me and I slowly cried out my feelings and told her what happened.
When I was done, Asha timidly said,
“I didn't want to say anything. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but I did hear some of those girls out there taking about him. You know... being with him." She surprised me with that, and I immediately motioned for her to continue. The spark of curiosity that Latoya planted in my mind was now being fanned into a raging fire.
