Bina POV

Each time I tried to push it down, it came back up like a cork in water, and the harder I pushed it down, the more vengeance it came back up with. I finally relented, and let go of his hand and excused myself to the bathroom. Nelson looked a little puzzled, but he coolly played it off. I rushed up the aisle and ran into the bathroom, and I cried. I felt rejected and unwanted. How could he say just less than 3 hours ago that he would be here, and then not show up? My mind was racing and I just wanted it to end. I patted my face dry with a cool cloth, and tossed it in the bin. My makeup was running just a bit, but who would notice in the dark theater? I was about to walk out, but I couldn't leave my eyeliner looking messy. There were just certain things that I was extra particular about. I decided to wash my face off. Having no makeup looked better than having it look janky. I walked back out, taking a few deep breaths along the way. I heard my parent's voices and I made out the sound of footsteps rounding the corner. I was just about to open the door to the theater when someone called my name.

"Bina!" I turned around and all of my fears and doubt melted. Michael was here. He made it... finally!

"Hey! C'mon, you're missing the movie." I called back to him. He finally reached me and I could sense that something was different. I was studying his face when he broke my thoughts,

"I'm really sorry I didn't show up tonight, but something came up," He paused and swallowed. I could see his eyes darting, back and forth as if searching for what to say next. He shrugged speaking to his shoes and said, 

"I just wouldn't be very good company for you guys tonight." He paused again then looked up at me and said,

"But I wanted to see you," his eyes averting back to his shoes. He looked so broken but I had to fight back the urge to throw my arms around him and tell him everything is okay. Instead I just told him I understood, and walked him out to the front porch. He stood there for a moment and broke the silence saying,

"Would you mind sitting with me for a minute?"
