I Will Always Love You Chapter: 4
Kalyani POV
I showed him the pool, and the garden, I pointed out our different trees, an old club house, and the rooms that were visible, and then we arrived at the guest house.
"Wow, what's in there?" He asked, pointing towards the creepy house in the back.
"I don't know, I haven't been in yet. You... wanna go?" I said with hesitation.
"Gee, sure!" He replied, bounding towards the shack with absolutely no fear.
We twisted the handle, and the door squeaked open to reveal a dark room. I felt around on the wall for a light switch, but Michael brazenly busted through, his eyes devouring everything. I stood there a moment, wondering how he was not phased by the cobwebs and spiders and whatever else could be lurking about, but before he got too far away I abandoned the search for the switch and ran up next to him.
"Aren't you scared?" I whispered.
"Of what?" He said.
"You know, of all the webs and spiders, and whatever else."
"I live with my father," he said jokingly, "there's not too much to be afraid of after that." We laughed loudly, our voices echoing. I paused a moment, about to ask what exactly he meant by that, but then we heard a noise coming from the back room.
"What was that?" I hissed, jumping back a half step behind him.
"I don't know... Let's check it out!" He said. I looked at him as if he had lost his mind and whispered,
"No! I don't want to go!"
"Fine, I'll go by myself. But y'know I'm s'posed to be your guest, and you're supposed to be showing me around." He said, looking at me with a smirk.
I felt the burning heat of obligation on my neck, and, though I didn't want to admit to it, slight curiosity, so we both walked to the room together. I pushed the door open and...
"AHHHH!!" I screamed and fell back almost hitting the floor. Michael caught my arm and helped me get back my balance, and then surrendered himself to ta laughing fit. It was a raccoon, and it had jumped at the sight of us and then hopped out of the window. I tried to compose myself, but he was still laughing and clutching his stomach for air. I gave him a little shove, but all he did was laugh harder and then he said,
"Were you scared?"
"Nuh uh, not really,"
"Yeah you were! Hahaha..."
I left him there laughing, and walked outside to get some fresh air.
