"Neddoo ready for second grade?" y/n smiled "that i am, but what i'm not ready for, is you falling all over that ass Nick" y/n rolled her eyes "whatever, at least i don't throw myself at him..ehm Tyler..and lets be completely honest here, every other girl in our grade" Ned laughed "come on, Mace is here to drop us off" he pointed at Macy's blue car "lets gooo"

"line up class, we have an assembly in the gym and i don't want anyone to get lost, and try to sit with someone you don't really know," Ned and y/n blocked her out. why sit with someone they don't know when they can easily sit together. Ned stood behind her as the teacher scanned the line, making sure everyone was there and the line was straight.

in front of y/n was,of course, Nick and his soccer friends. "whos the hottest girl in our class?" one of them had asked "hmm.. i think its Stacy" another had said, "nah i think its Laura, she's wow, have you seen her in gym?"

"no, guys come on, the answer is obvious" Nick had finally spoke, "its Jessica" y/n's heart stopped for a split second

"hey.." Ned mumbled, pushing her forward "lines moving y/n.. come on" she nodded and all emotions were drained from her face.

when school was over, she did her homework with then door locked and once done with that, she began to talk to herself..well not to herself really, to Ethan. assuming he was listening. he was always listening to her rambled on when he was alive and well.

"hey Eth.. i miss you. like a lot..uhm..i i got..heartbroken today? i guess. i mean the guy i like basically admit that he liked someone else."

she chucked,

"i mean it's not like he was mine to begin with but it still hurt. it hurt like uh..like uh.. like a bitch! yep. it hurt like a bitch, Jessica isn't even that pretty! she's a total diva too! one time she picked up an apple juice instead of a grape--i mean who the hell likes grape juice?! anyways, back to the point, she always gets what she wants

she groaned then sat up "y/n! you have some friends over" mum called "coming!" she called back, before running down the stairs, a bit confused, Ned would always call before coming over "who is--oof"

"don't worry, happens all the time" the young girls mother said to the person standing by the door

"o-oh..um..h-hi, hi Nick" the young male smiled "hey y/n!..so we need another player and we saw your house was like right here, wanna play with us?" Nick asked, y/n's mum signaled for her to go with him, she thought having only Ned as a friend in the first grade, when you should be socializing, wasn't the best idea, of course she loved Ned, but still

"oh..uh ye-yeah, sure i'll come? let me just..put on my proper runners" Nick nodded and smiled politely at the girls mother

"okay, let's go" she opened the door, letting Nick leave first "have fun" her mom said, before shutting the door.

"so..do you play soccer or like..just for fun?" Nick asked as they made their way to the park "well i.. i used to play soccer and..and football with my older brother before he passed.." Nick nodded "cool so like just for fun?"

y/n also nodded "yeah..just for fun now"

y/n has never actually touched a soccer ball or football since Ethan, so she didn't know how this was going to play out. "alright, Miguel and myself are captains, Miggs, you pick first" Nick started as they got to the field.

after the friendly match y/n and Nicks team winning) everyone but Nick and y/n left the park.

"i..the reason we called you to play wasn't totally because we didn't have another player-- i mean we did! we did need another player, yanno to make it even but we, i chose you because i wanted to..to tell you that i..i like you"

Nick mumbled, looking down to his feet "y-you do?" young y/n questioned

"i do, i really really do, when we were in line, and we were talking about the hottest girl..it was Matt's idea, he said that you liked me and it was just so..you would react and you did so i..i'm sorry"

y/n's smile grew "well..Matt's right, i like you too.. i just..i have a question"

Nick smiled and looked at her "what is it?"

"out of all the girls in our class--our school even..why..why me?"

Nick sighed "you are the only girl of our grade to not run after me at recess,"

y/n rolled her eyes "why do they even do that?"

he shrugged "i don't know.. i mean at first it was kinda fun, but now its annoying" y/n nodded.then silence, until Nick cleared his throat "wanna be boyfriend and girlfriend?"

y/n gasped "wh-what?"

Nick had jumped off his swing, then stood in front of her swing, stopping her from the light swinging she was doing

"wanna be boyfriend and girlfriend?" he asked again, with a twinkle in his eyes

"really?! this..this isn't a prank right?"Nick chuckled "

why would this be a prank?"she shrugged then looked down at her wrist. she had so much time left

"its okay to date people before you meet them you know, besides maybe it'll change and then we'd end up being soulmates"

both the kids were grinning from ear to ear "yes"

"yes! you'll be girlfriend?!"y/n nodded, hugging Nick who had lifted her off the swinging then twirled her around "you're strong" she mumbled, still hugging him"i know.. come on, let's go take you home"

Ned looked out his window with his friend Peter "what are we looking for?" young Peter asked Ned,"my other best friend"

"waddaya mean? i thought i was your only best friend" Peter laughed, putting a lego car together

"you're my only guy best friend. this ones my girl best friend, remember"

"the one you shared chocolate with?" Ned nodded "yeah that one--" Ned blinked, rubbed his eyes then blinked again"oh my gosh!" he screamed,

causing Macy, Neds babysitter (and Ethan's soulmate) ran into the room, stepping on lego pieces in the process "what? what's happening?!" she panicked

"y/n and Nick are holding hands!!" Ned pointed out, Macy followed his finger and saw that y/n really was holding hands with a boy. she chuckled "aww that's cute"

then a car blocked their view"hey Pete, your uncles here" Ned poked Peter arm "okay, cool."

the two jumped away from the window and began to clean up the lego. the doorbell rang and Macy opened it "hi Mr. Parker" she grinned "hello Macy, hope the boys weren't giving you too much trouble"

Macy smiled politely "no trouble at all"

Ben nodded, fishing out a twenty from his pocket "oh! Mr. Parker, no need i--"

"take it" he smiled as Peter came into view, backpack slung over on shoulder "hey uncle Ben"

"hey Pete" he messed with Peters already messy hair

"Macy, take the money." she once again refused,Ben sighed, then glanced down at Peter, who grinned.

"fine, fine. Peter, say goodbye to Macy" Peter wrapped his tiny arms around Macy and slipped the twenty into her back pocket without her noticing "bye Ned, bye Macy" he chuckled

"bye Peter! bye Ben!" Ned said,also chuckling "okay..bye" Macy smiled before closing the door, Ned was dying of laughter "what's so funny?" Macy smiled "Peter slid the twenty in your pocket...PHONEEE" Ned quickly stood up and ran to pick up the phone "y/n, y/n, y/n you little cheater" Ned said, taking a seat on the couch, home phone in hand

"cheater?" she replied, Ned can hear the smile on her face

"yes cheater! i saw you holding hands with that soccer playing dweeb Nick"

Macy chuckled, then went back to her laptop in the kitchen

"it's not cheating Ned, i haven't even met the guy i'm supposed to be with forever, its okay"

Ned sighed "whatever.. anyaways,TELL ME ABOUT IT, or Peters my bestest friend and not you"

awwee look at that, little y/n and Nick are datinnggg. why is she so mad at him though? what did he do to hurt her? idk idk.. actually i do know, but its too early for YOU to know.
