Tango's Perspective-

A lot of time skips bc I said so >:)

"Where are you headed?" Impulse asked me as I headed to the door.

"Shooting hoops with Jay and Jimmy. I told you about them. Wanna join?"

Impulse shrugged, "Sure. Let me go grab Skizz."

I nodded and watched as Impulse went to go talk to his friend.

After a couple of minutes, we all walked down to the court.

"-and besides, Tango's cool. He would never like me." I heard Jimmy say.

I froze, blinking.

I saw Jay make a quick glance at me before he continued talking with Jimmy.

"I think you have a chance. Besides, he does seem to care a lot about you." Jay said.

Impulse and Skizz both looked at me before looking at Jimmy and they smirked at me.

'Shut up.' I mouthed at them, blushing.

I heard Jimmy then sigh, "I just...can't. He'll just reject me anyway. Besides, he probably has some super popular girlfriend."

Skizz then snickered and burst out laughing.

Jimmy jumped and turned around.

His face turned red as he saw us there.

Jay and Impulse also cracked up laughing and me and Jimmy made eye contact, both of us blushing.

"Er- is this a bad time?" I asked, smiling weakly.

"Er- yeah." Jimmy laughed weakly before looking to the ground, clearly embarrassed.

I laughed awkwardly as well before falling into silence.

Impulse, Skizz, and Jay then stopped laughing.

"Alright," Skizz said, picking up a basketball, "Are we here to shoot some hoops, or stand around and laugh at our awkward friends?"

Jay smirked at Jimmy and said, "I think both is fine."

Impulse chuckled before saying, "I think that's enough taunting. Let's play!"

Me and Jay were walking together back up to school.

We were walking behind Jimmy, Impulse, and Skizz. Impulse and Skizz were talking to Jimmy about me.

Probably about how I don't have a popular girlfriend and am bi.

"So...Jimmy likes me?" I asked awkwardly.

Jay nodded as he put his hands in his pockets, "A lot."

I blushed and nodded.

He then smirked at me, "You like him back, don't you."

I hesitated and then nodded again.

He laughed and punched me in the shoulder, "It's alright. I'll just tell him."

"Why?!"

"Because you two could then get together! You heard him, he really likes you. You like him back, just ask him out."

"But I- "

"You know, I really assumed you would be the confident one in your relationship." Jay said, "But I guess I was wrong. Maybe Impulse and Skizz will convince Jim to ask you out."

Jay then shrugged, "But if that doesn't happen, guess you'll never get together."

He then whistled as he continued to walk.

I blinked, thinking.

Maybe I should just ask him out. At least I know I won't get rejected.

"I'm sorry but...no." Jimmy said awkwardly.

I blinked, "B-but I thought you liked- "

Jimmy shrugged, "I don't know, I guess I just don't wanna be in a relationship with you."

I shot up, sweating.

I looked at the clock and sighed.

1:45 in the fucking morning.

I took a deep breath, telling myself that it was all a dream.

I never asked out Jimmy.

I then fell back onto my bed and stared at the ceiling.

I have to do it today.

I sighed, closing my eyes.

But how? How will I catch him when he's on his own? He's always with Jay.

I thought for a couple more minutes and then drifted off into sleep.

Little did I know, there was going to be a big surprise for me in the morning.

The Next Day-

I yawned as I walked out into the halls.

"You awake?" Impulse asked, "You look really tired."

I nodded.

"Hopefully you didn't catch what Skizz has. Must've gotten something when we were outside yesterday."

I shrugged, "Could be anything."

"Well, are you gonna ask out Jim?"

I scoffed, "No."

"Why not? He likes you back."

I shrugged, "I don't know...I'm nervous."

Impulse smiled sincerely and patted my back, "I'm sure you can do it."

"But like- "

"See? He's right there!" Impulse said, pointing at Jimmy who was walking and talking with Jay.

I blushed as I saw Jimmy.

Impulse smirked at me.

"Shut up." I said, turning away.

"Come onnnnnn." Impulse said, pushing me forward.

Jay saw this and patted Jimmy's back before walking away.

Jimmy, confused, looked over at me.

He blushed as we made eye contact and Impulse then said,

"Alright, I'll see you later."

I walked up to Jimmy and we started walking awkwardly to class together.

I looked down at our hands and felt the heat rise to my face.

"Er- so is what Skizz and Impulse said true?" Jimmy asked.

I laughed awkwardly and trailed off, "Er- which part?"

"The part where you...you liked me." Jimmy mumbled, blushing.

"Oh, er..." I coughed awkwardly, "Y-yeah."

Jimmy nodded as we continued walking.

"So...wanna go out sometime?" I asked, "I mean, I understand if you don't wanna be in a relationship with me."

Jimmy froze and then looked at me.

We made eye contact and he nodded.

"Y-yeah." He said, "I mean, if you're okay with it."

I smiled and chuckled lightly, "Of course I wanna go out with you!"

Jimmy smiled awkwardly as well and also laughed.

We then fell into silence as we walked to class.

"Well," I said, stopping outside of math.

"Yeah." He said, looking everywhere but at me.

"Hey," I said, grabbing his hands, making him blush and look at me, "Are you okay? You don't have to do this if you don't want to."

"N-no! I want to! I just...I've never been in a relationship before." He smiled sheepishly, "And I wanna do it correctly."

I blinked and then smiled, "There's no right way, just whatever you're comfortable with. So just tell me what you want, and I'll be there for you."

Jimmy smiled and then jumped as the bell rang.

"Ah!" He said, removing his hands from mine, "I gotta go, I'll see you later!"

He waved goodbye and dashed away.

I laughed as I stepped into my class, trying to calm down my red face.

I sat down and got my things out.

No matter how many times I had entered this class,

This had had to be the happiest I'd ever felt in here.
