Am I The Bad Guy?

Scott's Perspective-

I'm not manipulating guys...at least not on purpose? Am I though? Are Jay and Eleanor, right?

Scott shook his head.

No. I'm just struggling to find a good boyfriend.

Scott jumped as a customer walked in.

It was yet another slow day.

Pearl was helping a customer who was at the bar.

He smiled as two girls walked in and he helped them out.

After he gave them their food, one of the girls stopped him before he left.

"Er- sorry if this is a weird question," She said, blushing, "But are you single?"

Scott felt his face heat up, "Oh, sorry, I have a boyfriend."

"Oh? What's his name? I may know him."

"I don't think you do. His name's Leslie."

"Leslie..."

"King." Scott said, "Leslie King."

The girls nodded and they started eating.

Scott sighed as he walked into the kitchen.

"What happened to Charlie?" Pearl asked.

"Oh...we broke up."

She raised an eyebrow.

"He said he was really upset and that he didn't wanna continue." Scott explained.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"No, it's fine! Besides, Leslie is way nicer."

Pearl nodded before saying, "Do you know why the guys are breaking up with you?"

Scott shook his head.

"Well," He said, "Now that I think about it, it's always after I start texting a new guy."

"You're cheating on them?"

"Not really."

She took a deep breath and said slowly, "I think, Scott, maybe you're the problem."

"I- what do you mean?"

"I think you're...well look," She sighed, "Over the months of observing you with a new boyfriend, I noticed that you kind of ask for a lot of things."

"Is that not normal?"

"It is! It's just...you ask for a lot of money." Pearl said slowly, "I just...I feel like, maybe, you're the bad guy."

Scott raised his eyebrows.

"You think I'm the one that's the problem?"

"Well," Pearl bit her lip before sighing, "Yes."

"I- why would you think that?"

"Well, I think I'm right, Scott."

"How can you think that? I'm not abusing them."

"You just seem to go through them really fast and always seem to ask a lot out of them."

"How can you say this? You're really accusing me right now?!"

Pearl looked really nervous before nodding, changing her look to be stern.

"Yes, Scott, I am accusing you. You're not being a good person."

"Yes, I am! Maybe...Pearl, maybe you're the crazy one here."

Pearl looked aggravated and said, "You know what? Fine. I'm the crazy one here. I quit."

She threw her name tag and apron off and stormed away.

Scott huffed, watching as she got on her bike and biked away.

Just then, Scott's phone started ringing.

Scott smiled as his boyfriend was calling him.

"Hey Leslie!" Scott said cheerfully.

"Er- hey Scott!"

"Everything okay?" Scott asked.

"Yep! Your present should be arriving in a couple of days."

"Oh...you didn't get next day delivery?"

"Er- no...I thought we agreed on that."

Scott bit his lip and then said, "Yeah! That's okay!"

He heard Leslie hum as they fell into silence.

"So...uh, do you wanna hang out later?" Scott asked.

"Sure! I'm not doing anything."

"Great! I'll see you later then."

"Okay, bye!"

"Bye, love you."

Scott hung up and helped out the next customer.

He felt a bit bad about Pearl, but immediately buried those feelings.

She said I wasn't a good person. I wouldn't wanna be friends with a bitch like her.

Just then, a guy walked into the restaurant.

Scott felt his heart rate pick up as the guy started flirting with him.

Leslie slipped from his mind as he got the guy's number.

Leslie's Perspective-

I smiled and hummed a song as I walked to Scott's dorm room.

I knocked on the door and Jay opened it up, looking annoyed.

"Er- hey Jay!" I said awkwardly, "Is Scott- "

Jay moved out of the way and opened up the door.

I walked in, a bit confused.

I then saw it.

The thing that destroyed me.

"S-Scott?"

Scott was giggling, playing video games with another guy.

Blush tinted his face, and he had a smile that loved so much.

The guy had his arm wrapped around Scott and was holding him tightly.

I heard my heart crack.

Scott stopped laughing and saw me.

We made eye contact and I saw him look caught.

"L-Leslie!" He said nervously, "I can explain."

I scoffed, trying to keep myself from crying, "Explain it then."

"I- me and Todd were just hanging out- "

"Hanging out?! Certainly, doesn't look like that, does it?"

"Wait..." Todd said, looking at me and Scott, "You never said you had a boyfriend."

I laughed chaotically.

"Oh, so this is just your friend who you forgot to tell that I exist?!"

"Leslie, it's not- "

"DON'T LIE TO ME!" I shouted.

There was a stinging silence.

"Don't lie to me." I repeated shakily, tears falling down.

"I- "

"Tell me the truth about Todd." I interrupted Scott.

Todd looked at me and Scott and then stood up.

Scott looked confused and hurt and watched as Todd walked over to me.

"I'm so sorry." He said softly, "I never knew about you. Scott never said anything."

He then threw Scott a disgusting look.

"Come on. This bitch doesn't deserve anything." Todd said.

And he left.

I looked at Scott, anger in my eyes.

"Fuck you, Scott. Just- just fuck off." I said before turning and following Todd out.
