Hi, it's Claire, Miss I-Take-Forever-To-Do-Tags
So I got tagged by hazeIIvsque!
It's a music tag! And I'm supposed to list out my top 15 fav songs
Just a disclaimer: no one should ever ask me for song recommendations. I will literally just list out thirty-five Taylor Swift songs
Oh well, here's my list (I'll try to make it varied). It's in no particular order, because I don't have a favorite song, you feel?
Also I swear I didn't wait this long just so I could put ten songs from Taylor's new album.
1. What the Hell - Avril Lavigne
https://youtu.be/tQmEd_UeeIk
SO. WHAT. IF I GO OUT ON A MILLION DAAAATES? YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH. It's just...so catchy?? Avril is amazing. I swear to god she's an immortal angel (who swears). I'm so freaking excited for her sixth album
2. First Flight Home - Jake Miller
https://youtu.be/7FgqY_x56fE
This song literally has only 6.7 million views on Youtube so go support it. It's so amazing and cute. I'd love for someone to sing this to me if I went on a long trip or something haha
3. Love Story - Taylor Swift
https://youtu.be/8xg3vE8Ie_E
I cannot make a favorite song list without including this one. It was the the first song I learned to sing, and the first time I ever felt so much love for a song. At first I only liked the song, not the artist. Then I heard Teardrops On My Guitar, loved it, and found out it was by the same artist. I was like "holy jesus I love this Taylor Swift person"
4. Happier - Ed Sheeran
https://youtu.be/8TpcBDJZsJA
Literally the only song that can make me cry. All of Me...Stay With Me...See You Again...Thinking Out Loud...nah, Happier. It reminds me of a past relationship, and the chorus tears me up immediately. It played on the radio in the car once and I made my mom change the channel
5. Dear Pewds - RobertIDK
https://youtu.be/c_SKiTzC5t4
LOL WHAT?? Yes, a song by a Youtuber. I love this song so much. It's just...so sweet. It makes me so giddy. PewDiePie is currently my favorite Youtuber, and it makes me so happy that someone loves him as much as I do. The chorus just makes me want to brofist everything.
6. Dear Future Husband - Meghan Trainor
https://youtu.be/ShlW5plD_40
I had to include Meghan in here somewhere. This song is catchy af and I love the lyrics. You got that 9 to 5, but baby so do I, so don't be thinking I'll be home and baking apple pie. I never looked to cook [SAME] but I can write a hook
I can write books does that count
7. Kiss You Inside Out - Hedley
https://youtu.be/ksrFRkA8J4w
There's something about this band that invokes a huge sense of nostalgia in me. So many of their songs...I feel like I've heard them before. That probably has to do with the fact that they're a Canadian band and I've lived there for nine years. No doubt I heard their songs being overplayed at some mall.
8. Same Mistakes - One Direction
https://youtu.be/JhMc9pBtFAE
Man I love this band. I've been a fan since sixth grade and don't plan on stopping. This song is old af but I really like it. I remember playing it once and my mom asked me who sang it. I told her, and she was so surprised—HA AND SHE THOUGHT 1D DIDN'T HAVE GOOD SONGS
9. Control - Halsey
https://youtu.be/so8V5dAli-Q
Halsey's songs are really cool. Period. I love this song, and I remember actually discovering it through Wattpad. Someone said in a similar song tag that this was their favorite song, so I looked it up. Best decision I've ever made.
10. 21 Guns - Green Day
https://youtu.be/r00ikilDxW4
This is my jam, and the lyrics are great. I love the drums in this song. I know that's a really unusual things to say—like wtf why not the guitar or Billie's singing—no it's the drums. And listening to it now, the drums isn't even very prominent, but I played this song on the drums a long time ago, so I guess that's why lol. Green Day is bloody amazing, and their songs haven't gone down in quality a bit.
11. Wonderland - Taylor Swift 💕
https://youtu.be/tQ_TRzMfPfc
Wowie the second Swift song, and probably my favorite. You guys are lucky I restrained myself and didn't just spew out her entire Speak Now album. This is the 14th track from 1989 Deluxe, and it's awesome. It has such a weird foreboding feel to it. The pre-chorus makes me feel like I'm literally falling down a rabbit hole cuz she's firing questions like mad
12. Thriller - Michael Jackson
https://youtu.be/sOnqjkJTMaA
(Skip to 4:39 for the song). Thriller was my friggin childhood. When I wasn't singing Taylor Swift, Owl City, Lady Gaga, or Avril Lavigne, you can bet that it was the king of pop that I was jamming to. I remember memorizing the outro of the song and reciting it in class and just scarring people for life
13. Getaway Car - Taylor Swift
https://youtu.be/eKsK6beNccU
Unfortunately the video I put is probably going to get taken down really soon, so HURRY AND CLICK IT.
It's kinda similar to Wonderland, and I think it's my favorite non-single from reputation. I also wanted to put "Gorgeous," "New Year's Day," and "I Did Something Bad," but figured I've done enough Taylor today.
Also this song reminds me of Wilby Blue and Drew Getaway. I just imagine him singing it and Drew rolling her eyes very hard at the pun
14. Up All Night - Charlie Puth
https://youtu.be/vBLQFGHtSzg
Another song that reminds me of Wilby and Drew. I need to stop with these parallels. This is my favorite track from his debut album. I just like it a lot lol, I can't really explain why
15. Girl Almighty - One Direction
https://youtu.be/rPJU9bnfGgs
My favorite 1D song! It's about their fans (me), and I love listening to the intro ugh. I remember getting this album and just playing this song over and over and making my brother sick of me.
He still gets sick of me singing Gorgeous all the time though, so nothing's changed.
