Chapter 3

Ice stepped into the stationery store. He was alone that day because Top had a football practice later in the afternoon. The man could only send him to the mall then rush to the university field.

After finishing picking up a few pens and some other items he needed, he went to the payment counter. He smiled a little to the female cashier. He guesses, the cashier was still a student as she looks very young. While she scanned the items, Ice searched his wallet in the pouch.

"163.39 THB, please.", she said.

Ice asked her to wait for fo a moment as he still searching for the wallet. He paused. Try to remember where the last time he put the wallet. Ice slapped his forehead when something hit his memories.

Before coming here, he returned briefly to his condo. As he remembered, he put the wallet on his mattress. He must have forgotten to put the wallet in the pouch.

Ice asked for a pen and a piece of paper from the cashier. He wrote something on it. Asking if he can cancel his purchase.

"I'm sorry. I scanned all this stuff. Can't return it."

Ice sighed. He had to ask Top for help. But the man must be training now. Ice bit his lip. He doesn't know what to do now.

"Please, include mine to his."

Suddenly, someone spoke from behind and approached the counter. He handed a pen and a notebook Ice frowned at the man.

"What are you doing?! Are you crazy? I can't even pay mine!", Ice said. Daw just smirked.

"Don't mind him. How much?", Daw asked.

The girl just followed what Daw asked. Well, she doesn't understand what Ice said after all. Ice facepalm. He forgot that Daw can't understand him.

"293.39 THB, please."

Daw handed his credit card to her. He laughed a little when he turned to Ice.

"I told you, we'll meet again."

"I'll pay you back," said Ice. This time he types it on his phone.

He smiled broadly. "All right. You better pay me back."

Ice did not reply. After the payment process, they left the store. Ice nodded his head slightly before leaving Daw. Before he could step, the man who was taller than him was holding him back.

"Wait."

Ice turned around.

"How will you go home? You don't have any money, do you?", Daw asked.

"I will ask my friend to pick me here.", Replied Ice. Though he knows he has to wait for a couple of hours.

But, one thing he did not realize. Daw just suddenly understood his sign language.

"I'll take you home."

"No need.", Ice replied then started walking.

Daw chased Ice's steps and took the plastic bag from his hand.

"If you want these items back, follow me.", Daw said then walked ahead of Ice.

Ice did not move, making Daw turn to him. "You don't want to go?"

Ice sighed harshly. Like it or not, he had to follow Daw. He could have let the items be brought by Daw because it was the man who paid for it all. But he needed those things. So he had no other choices.

Daw smiled triumphantly. He watched Ice who's already walked ahead. The cold guy must've felt annoyed by him. Daw shook his head then chased Ice.

Daw pulled the hand break up. They've arrived in front of Ice's condo building. He stared at Ice who's prepared to step out of the car. Ice looked back then lift his head a little asking 'what?'.

"Ah. Nothing.", Daw response.

"I'll pay you back soon.", Ice said.

"What if I don't want you to pay back with money?", Daw looked at Ice's clueless face. "But, with your phone number instead?"

Ice blinked a few times. He just realizes something.

"Auch!", Daw cried. He rubbed the back of his head. "What was that for?"

"How did you suddenly understand what I am saying?", Ice asked. His face started to turn red.

Daw laughed a little. His hand reached for Ice's head then ruffled his hair. "You're so cute when you get angry."

Ice pushes Daw's hand away. Irritated by his sudden actions. "Stop acting like we're close."

"You just hit me in the head and you said we're not close.", Daw mumbled. Ice's cheeks were tinted pink, realized his stupidity.

"Come, we go to your room. I'll show you how 'close' really mean.", Daw whispered, tried to tease Ice.

"Crazy!", Ice cursed then step out from the car.

"Hey, Ice! I'm just kidding!"

Ice ignored him. He quickly runs into the building. Once he gets in his room, he threw his body onto the bed.

"That prick! He is getting into my nerves.", Ice muttered.

Daw laughed a little seeing Ice's reaction. That guy is so cold but still funny at the same time. In Daw's point of view, Ice becomes more attractive in his eyes. The grumpier and colder Ice is, the more he looks cute.

The ringing of Daw's phone distracts him from thinking of Ice.

"Hey, captain where you at? Come to the field quickly. Senior brother Pun has been babbling about you since he realizes you still not here yet. I think my ears are bleeding.", Liam muttered as soon as Daw answer his call.

"I'm on my way.", Daw replied.

"You better hurry!"

"Okay!"

The call was off. Daw immediately leave the place and drove his car to the university field. When he arrived he quickly goes to the locker room to change his outfit into his jersey then quickly ran off to the field.

"You're late captain! Where have you been? I've to wait for you for almost an hour now.", Senior brother Pun asked. He is the club president.

"I'm sorry, senior brother. Something urgent came up.", Daw gave an excuse. But seems like the president didn't buy it.

"Full-field runs, then you can join the others for the training."

"How many I should do?", Daw asked then immediately cursed himself when Pun stared sharply into his face.

There's one thing Pun hated the most when we know but asking him again.

"You were late, and you know the drill. Two laps instead of one. Go now!"

"Yes!"

By that, Daw quickly ran around the field. The president knew well, two laps wasn't a problem to Daw to run around the university big field. In his entire life, Daw was the fittest person he ever met. The last time he tells the captain to run around the field, he was surprised when Daw did a full field sprint. He ever thought that the second-year student wasn't a human.

Daw is insane.

After two hours of training, all the boys on the field were dripping sweats and breathing heavily. The training becomes harder as the football match is getting closer. Meaning, more training is coming and more babbling from Pun too.

"Oh yeah, Daw. Why did you late today?", Ken asked as they sat on the bench near the field.

"Sending Ice home."

"What? You mean, Ice..."

"Yes.", Daw said.

"I told you, don't hit on him.", Liam said.

"I'm not. I was just helping him."

"You better not.", Liam replied and Ken agreed. "You don't want to fight with Top, just because of Ice."

"Of course not.", replied Daw. He slightly sighed.

Ken poked Liam's arm then pout to Daw. Liam stared at the man beside him. He doesn't know what's on Daw's mind right now. Even they've been friends since high school, it's hard to know what Daw thinks, or how he feels. You can't read this mind.

"Hey, dude. I'm not stopping you from courting Ice, you know.", Liam spoke up. "After all, it's about you and your love life. We have no right to stop you."

Daw looked at Liam. "Er. Er. You're right!"

"Right about what?", Liam asked and Ken agreed.

"I'm hitting on him.", Daw replied.

Liam laughed sarcastically. "Finally, you admit it."

Daw hit Liam in the head, making him hissed. "Last time you told me not to hit on him.

That's why I didn't tell both of you."

"Silly! I'm just saying it. I don't mean that. We're friends, dude. We always support you though.", Liam replied.

"Liam is right. As long as it's a good thing, we're okay. Fighting, my friend!", Ken added.

"Thank you.", Daw thanked them.

"No problem, my friend."

Daw slightly smiled. His friends maybe have a dirty mouth but they're still supportive and kind-hearted. He never regrets having friends like Liam and Ken.
