"is max just gonna meet us there?" ryan asked, josh putting his range rover in reverse. he picked up ryan, and they were heading over to brendon and dallons home football game.
"yeah that's what he said." josh nodded. he pulled out on the road, driving to the school.
"brendons kinda mad at me right now." ryan sighed, turning his phone off after he sent a text back to brendon.
"why?" josh asked, taking a drink out of his sonic cup.
"cause i said he was getting too clingy. i didn't really mean it i just didn't wanna come over last night." ryan said. he pulled up the texts and showed josh.

and that was all from yesterday, they talked a bit at school but that's it. brendon just texted ryan and asked if he was on his way to the game and ryan said back yeah.
"y'all never like really fight and stuff but when you do it's over the stupidest stuff." josh kind of chuckled.
"yeah i know. we'll have angry sex tonight and then we'll apologize and then it'll be fine." ryan shrugged.
"that's usually how it goes everytime." josh chuckled.
"you and max still good?" ryan asked, josh anxiously biting his lip.
"yeah. yeah we're good." he nodded. he didn't tell ryan about tyler. he didn't tell anyone, and didn't plan to.
"good. i like him. he's kind of, quiet and like more to himself but i still like him a lot." ryan said.
"yeah me too." josh nodded, turning on his blinker and turning into the school. he sighed.
the boys got out, and walked into the stadium. the lights were on, and it was dark. the game was just about to start in 10 minutes. emma and max had them saved a seat where they usually sit.
"hey guys." ryan said, stepping over max and sitting inbetween him and emma.
"hey baby." max said, josh smiling and stepping over him also. he sat next to ryan.
"hey." josh kissed maxs cheek, before he kissed his lips.
"it's super cold tonight." josh said, shivering and spreading his blanket out over him and max. emma amd ryan were also sharing one.
"it is. i was about to freeze waiting for you." max said, him and josh cuddling up. it was end of october, football season was almost over. they were heading off to the play offs next week, and if they win this game they'll have first seed in the lineups.
josh leaned back and over into maxs chest, his head resting right under his chin. max wrapped his arms around josh, and their legs were tangled together.
the game started, worthington losing the coin flip. the other team decided to recieve it, so the warriors kicked it off.
the crowd cheered as they tackled the guy quick, Worthington's defense running out. josh looked and saw brendon, trying to find ryan in the crowd. he saw him, smiling to himself before he turned back to watch the game.
"you see bren?" josh asked ryan.
"yeah. i smiled at him. he doesn't look mad anymore." ryan said, his mood lifting a bit.
"what's up?" max asked josh when he laid his head back down.
"they were just arguing about something stupid. ryan told brendon he was being clingy but they're over it." josh said.
"it's never good to get too clingy." max shook his head, chuckling. josh blushed.
"am i clingy?" josh asked.
"uh, not really. you can be sometimes. but it's okay, for real. i don't mind it." he said.
"oh. i'm sorry." josh frowned.
"don't be." max kissed his hair. "can i come over after the game?"
"yeah, sure. if you want to." josh said.
"yeah, i missed my baby." max said.
"you saw me at school." josh giggled.
"yeah but i like, see you in biology and like barely any other times." he said. "and i need to go at least 5 hours a day seeing you."
"that sounds like a good amount of time." josh nodded.
the crowd cheered when it was fourth down and the other team had to punt, the warriors catching. their offense came out, ryan cheering on brendon. he called the play and started it, throwing the ball to dallon who was running up the sideline and then cut to the middle. they gained 6 yards on that play.
"your hairs tickling my nose." max mumbled.
"well then don't put your face in my hair." josh giggled, leaning his head up and looking at him, their faces centimeters apart.
"it smells good though." he said, pecking josh's lips.
"that's my stuff i spray in it." josh said. "to keep it from getting frizzy."
"i don't gotta do that. i just wake up and go." max said, his curls naturally soft and flawless.
"lucky bitch." josh giggled. "i mean mine isn't that bad but i feel better when it's fixed up a little."
"yeah. i like it. i like you." he said.
"i like you back." josh smiled, kissing him again.
"you're beautiful you know that?" max said.
"you're just saying that cause you're my boyfriend." josh blushed hard.
"no, i'm saying that because it's true. you really are beautiful joshua. so breathtaking. every inch of you." max softy said, bringing his hand up to rest on his jaw, his thumb stroking his cheek.
"i love you. thank you. so much." josh said. max kissed him again, this time deepening it by sliding their tongues together.
they kissed until they ran out of air, josh pulling back first to breath. he smiled and blushed, laying his head back down to watch the game.
he saw from the corner of his eye, someone looking at him. he looked back.
tyler was sitting with all his friends below them and over to the side a bit. he was turned and looking at josh. he could've swore it looked like he was teared up.
josh looked back, the boys making eye contact. tyler frowned, raising his eyebrows a bit. josh rolled his eyes, shaking his head a bit and looking back at the game.
tyler dropped his head, turning back around to his friends.
josh has to calm his breathing down, so max didn't notice. he was shaking a bit too.
there went his mood. how could tyler do that? with just a look, now joshs whole mood was changed.
he flinched a bit when he felt ryan's hand rubbing his back, and he assumed ryan saw what just happened. all ryan knew, is that they haven't talked to each other or anything since the big fight.
the buzzer went off, the first quarter ending. josh watched as he saw tyler stand up and leave the stadium, back to his truck, and drive away.
"josh you're elbow is kind of crushing my hip bone." max chuckled, josh moving it.
"sorry." he giggled.
"that's better, thank you." he said.
"i'm warm now." max smiled.
"me too." josh nodded.
josh grabbed his phone and took an picture of max, putting that on his story with no caption.
"josh?" ryan said, josh sitting up and looking at him.
"yeah?"
"you okay? i saw." ryan whispered lowly to him.
"yeah. it just, still hurts." he nodded.
"i know." ryan nodded, laying his head on josh's shoulder and kissing it.
"max you wanna go get me some m&ms?" josh asked, max smiling.
"of course." he said, getting up and heading to the concession stand. the line was really long.
"i just. i don't get why i still like, am thinking about tyler." josh said, ryan turning his full attention to josh.
"well, i mean he made you believe that he really cared and stuff." ryan frowned.
"i just don't understand. i literally have max. he's mine. he's tall, and hot, and literally physically perfect, not to mention how fucking sweet and caring he is. but i still just can't stop thinking about tyler. i'm going fucking insane." josh groaned, closing his eyes and leaning his head back against the fence. they sat on the top row of the stands, and there was a tall chain link fence right behind the top seat.
"i really don't know what to say josh. i wish i could just, erase them both and you not have to deal with this. it's my fucking fault you're in this mess too. i'm sorry." ryan said.
"no no. it's not your fault." josh shook his head.
"it is though. i'm the one who told you to go for tyler. and i told you to go for max. i didn't know it was gonna be this serious with either of them. i'm sorry joshua i really am. i wasn't there when you needed me." ryan said back. emma was listening to the conversation, she felt so bad.
"still. if you would've told me i wouldn't have listening. i couldn't ask for a better best friend. i'm just, confused right now." josh sadly smiled. ryan kissed his cheek.
"tylers out of the picture. it's just gonna take time baby. that's it. you can't be expected to just, be okay after something like that. it's gonna take some time for you to get over him. and you have max to help. i think he understands that you're still working through personal stuff. i think he's good for you, but if you need time to yourself or whatever, i think he'd understand." ryan said.
"i don't wanna end it with him. he makes me happy. it's just, i just do need time i guess. tylers all that's on my mind right now." josh sighed.
"are you gonna tell him you want a break?" ryan asked.
"no, no. i just, i think i'm gonna talk to him later. and just tell him how i'm feeling and stuff. i don't want a break i just want him to know." josh said.
"i get it. you gonna wait till the whole games over?"
ryan asked.
"yeah. i'll tell him tonight." josh nodded, seeing max walking up the stairs.
"thank you." josh smiled.
"you're welcome baby." max smiled.
"i love you. so much." josh softy said.
"i love you too joshua." max said, rubbing his knee.
he had no idea.
