CHAPTER SIX, love filled morning

In the morning, Stiles awoke to the soft light filtering through the curtains and the sound of birds chirping outside. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, and then looked down at Averi, who was still nestled comfortably in his arms. He smiled, feeling a wave of contentment wash over him. Gently, he brushed a strand of hair away from her face and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. She stirred a little, but didn't wake up. Stiles' smile widened as he watched her, admiring how beautiful and peaceful she looked. He couldn't resist the urge to pull her closer and nuzzle his face in the crook of her neck, taking in her familiar scent and letting himself get lost in her warmth.

She stirred, but she didn't wake up, instead just pressing closer to him. Stiles grinned, feeling his heart flutter at her gesture. He knew she wasn't much of a morning person, so he decided to let her sleep a little longer. He closed his eyes and drifted back into a peaceful slumber, his arms wrapped tightly around her and their bodies intertwined.

When Stiles woke up again, Averi was still curled up next to him. He gently shakes her shoulder, trying to rouse her from sleep. "Hey, morning." He whispered softly.

Averi groans, burying her face deeper into his chest. "Mmm, no thanks." She mumbles, her voice muffled. "Can we just stay like this forever?"

Stiles chuckles, running his fingers through her hair. He didn't blame her for her response, he didn't want to move either, but he knew they had school to go to. "Unfortunately, no. We have school, remember?" He leaned down to kiss her forehead, then gently unwrapped her arms from around his torso and got out of bed.

Averi whines, reaching out and grabbing his hand. "But I'm comfortable. Come back." She pouted, sending him a pleading look.

Stiles leans over to grab her hand and kiss the back of it, chuckling a little. A shy smile tugs on her lips at the sweet gesture. "I know, but we have school, Avie. Come on, I'll make you breakfast." He offered, hoping to entice her out of bed.

Averi opens one eye, looking up at him skeptically. "Waffles?" She asked, a glimmer of hope in her tired voice.

"Waffles," Stiles confirms with a grin, squeezing her hand before letting go. "With strawberries and whipped cream."

That got her attention. Averi opens her eyes and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her face. "Well, since you put it like that, how can I say no?" She said with a sleepy smile and stretched.

Stiles smiles fondly, pleased that she agreed. "That's the spirit," He says, leaning down to give her a quick kiss. "I'll go get started. Join me when you're ready."

Averi nodded, stretching and yawning as she watched him leave the room. She took a moment to savor the comfort and warmth of the bed before finally swinging her legs over the side and getting up. She slipped into the bathroom to freshen up, feeling a bit more awake by the time she finished.

Downstairs, Stiles was already busy in the kitchen, pulling out ingredients and setting up the waffle maker. The smell of fresh coffee filled the air, mingling with the promise of a delicious breakfast. Averi padded into the kitchen, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Stiles bustling around. Stiles' dad had already left for work before she had came down. Noah wasn't surprised when he found out Averi had stayed the night. He was used to seeing her around and was happy his son had someone who made him happy. Besides, he liked her and considered her part of the family. Averi smiled warmly, her heart fluttering as she watched him work. It was such a simple thing, yet it made her feel warm and fuzzy inside. She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, resting her chin on his shoulder.

"Hey," She said softly. "Need any help?"

"Hey, beautiful." Stiles smiles fondly, his heart fluttering as he leans back against her and covering her arms with his. "Nah, I've got it," He replies, tilting his head to give her a peck on the cheek. "But thank you."

"Alright, but if you change your mind, let me know." Averi replied, a small smile on her face as she pressed a kiss to his shoulder.

"Will do." Stiles nods, giving her hands a squeeze before returning his attention to the task at hand. "Coffee's ready if you want some." He added, gesturing to the pot with his elbow.

Averi smiles, pulling away and walking over to the coffee pot. "Thanks," She says pouring herself a cup. "Want some?" She asked, holding up the pot.

"Sure, thanks." Stiles replied, keeping his focus on the waffles.

Averi poured a second cup, making it just the way he liked it. She handed it to him, taking a sip of her own coffee as she leaned against the counter, watching him work. It was these small moments that she cherished the most, the everyday normalcy that felt so comforting amidst the chaos they often found themselves in.

After pausing and taking a sip of the coffee she made him, he leaned over to her and pressed a soft kiss to her temple, lingering there for a moment before going back to cooking. Averi blushed a little, her cheeks heating up from the tender gesture.

It wasn't long before the waffles were finished, and Stiles placed them on the table. "Dig in," He said, smiling proudly. "Hope you're hungry."

"Starving," Averi replies, taking a seat and pulling the plate closer to her. "This looks amazing. Thanks, baby, you're the best." She found it cute how proud he was of himself for making breakfast. She appreciated it a lot he made breakfast for them, he didn't have to, but he did anyway.

"Only the best for my girl." Stiles replied with a smile, taking a seat next to her. As he did, he leaned over to her and pressed a kiss to her cheek before grabbing his own fork. Her heart fluttered at the kiss and she smiled a little.

Averi picks up a waffle and takes a bite, humming appreciatively as the flavor hits her tongue. "Mm, this is delicious." The waffles were delicious. With the strawberries and whipped cream, it was the perfect combination of sweet and fluffy.

Stiles grins, happy with her reaction. "I'm glad you like it. I was hoping you would." He said, taking a bite of his own waffle.

The two of them enjoyed their breakfast together, chatting and laughing as they ate. Averi couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and happiness wash over her as she sat across from Stiles, sharing this simple yet meaningful moment with him. It was moments like these that made her realize just how much she loved him, how much she cherished their relationship, and how grateful she was to have him in her life.

As they finished their breakfast, Averi helped Stiles clean up the dishes, enjoying the domesticity of the moment. Once everything was cleaned and put away, they made their way back upstairs to get ready for the day ahead. Averi had some clothes she left there before that she changed into. She smiled as she watched Stiles get dressed, admiring the way his clothes fit him just right. He caught her gaze and winked, making her cheeks flush with a soft pink hue.

"Like what you see?" Stiles teased, grinning as he adjusted his shirt.

"Maybe," Averi replies with a smirk. "But I know you like what you see too." She added, gesturing to herself.

"You bet I do." Stiles replies with a grin, walking over to her and wrapping his arms around her waist. "I can't help it, you're gorgeous." He whispered, leaning in to press a tender kiss to her lips.

Averi's heart fluttered at his words, feeling a rush of warmth and affection wash over her. She melted into his embrace, savoring the feeling of his lips against hers. Her hand reached up to tangle in his hair as she pulled him closer, deepening the kiss. They stood there for a while, lost in each other's embrace and the intensity of the moment. When they finally pulled apart, they were both breathless, their eyes shining with love and adoration.

"As much as I'd like to stay here all day with you, we should probably get going," Stiles says reluctantly, knowing they would be late if they didn't. "But don't worry, we'll have more time together later." He promised, giving her one more kiss before stepping back.

"Alright," Averi nods, her voice still a little breathless. "I'm holding you to that." She replied, smiling as she grabbed her bag. She wasn't sure how he always managed to make her heart race and her knees go weak, but he did.

Stiles grins, grabbing his bag and heading out the door with her. He wraps an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close as they made their way to his Jeep. "Oh, I'm counting on it." He replied, sending her a wink. She blushed but couldn't help but smile, feeling a surge of happiness and anticipation at the thought of spending more time with him later.

She leans into his warm embrace, walking to the jeep with him. Her heart warms when he opened the passenger door for her and gave her a fond smile. "Thank you." She smiled at him, giving him a peck on the cheek.

Stiles returned the smile and watched her get into the car. Once she was settled, he shut the door and walked around to the driver's side. He slid into the seat beside her, starting the car and turning on the radio. As they pulled out of the driveway, Averi's gaze turned to the window, taking in the sights and sounds of the early morning. Her heart skipped a beat when suddenly she felt his hand on her thigh, squeezing lightly. She looked over at him and he sent her a sly smile, making her cheeks flush pink.

She placed her hand on his, lacing their fingers together. Her skin tingled where their hands touched, sending sparks of electricity through her body. She bit her lip, trying to contain the feelings that were bubbling up inside her. Stiles glanced over at her, his smile widening at the sight of her blushing cheeks.

"What?" He asked, a teasing tone in his voice.

"Nothing." She shakes her head, unable to hide the grin on her face. "Just...Thinking."

"About what?" Stiles prodded, his thumb rubbing circles on her skin.

Averi's cheeks flushed even more at his touch, but she couldn't help but feel a surge of affection towards him. She glanced out the window again, taking a moment to gather her thoughts before responding.

"Just...How lucky I am. Never once thought I would find someone as amazing as you." She admits, glancing back at him. "And I don't mean because of all the supernatural stuff. Just...You're kind, sweet, funny, and you always know how to make me smile and laugh. And somehow knows how to make me weak in the knees too." She blushed as she said that last part.

Stiles felt his heart melt a little at her words, his grip on her thigh tightening slightly. He was used to compliments from her, but it never failed to make his heart race and his cheeks flush. He glanced over at her and her heart fluttered at seeing the love and affection shining in his eyes. "Well, you make me pretty d*** weak in the knees too," He replies with a grin, sending a shiver down her spine. "But I'm glad you think so highly of me. And for the record, I'm the lucky one. I never thought I'd meet someone like you, who's beautiful and smart and brave, and who makes me happier than I've ever been. You make every day better just by being in it, Averi."

Averi's heart swells at his words, feeling a rush of warmth and happiness wash over her. She squeezes his hand gently, her eyes shining with love and adoration as she looked at him. "You really are amazing," She whispers, her voice filled with emotion. "I love you so much, Stiles."

"I love you too." Stiles replies, bringing their intertwined hand up to his lips and pressing a kiss to her knuckles. "So much, Avie."

They continued their drive to school, feeling warm and happy in each other's company. Averi was grateful that the day started so perfectly and couldn't wait to see what else it had in store. With Stiles by her side, she knew that whatever came their way, they could handle it together.
