CHAPTER 1
Daniel: (starts to wake up) "Hnngh" (lets out a yawn) "Well, time to start the day"
Bianka: "Well look who finally decided to wake up early"
Daniel turned to the side and saw Bianka already with clothes on for the day. It consisted of clothes that one would normally wear for exercising or training. Seeing his wife already prepared for the day, Daniel got out of bed and engulfed himself in a purple shadow, as he manifested his costume without the need of putting it on.
Daniel: "And I'm already ready"
Bianka: (rolls her eyes) "Cheater"
Daniel: (chuckles) "It's not cheating if it's something I can do with my abilities"
Bianka: (pouts) "Quiet you"
Daniel: (Laughs and walks over to Bianka) "Hahaha never" (kisses her lips and smiles warmly at her) "of to train today with Rita and the others?"
Bianka: "Yes actually, I wanted to ask you if you wish to join us, but it seems you already have plans today"
Daniel: "That I do, so don't worry I'll pick up something to eat along the way, you and Kiara just eat breakfast peacefully and go about your days"
Bianka: "Okay, love you"
Daniel: "Love you too"
They share one last kiss before Daniel steps back and disappears out of thin air in front of Bianka, who just smiles before leaving the room.
???: "Oh no! I'm going to be late!"
Minutes later, as another day arrives, and instead of starting with Daniel's daily routine like in the prologue, we will focus on someone who will aid him in his journey to becoming an educator. This individual is Izuku Midoriya, a former hero in training known as Deku, who is now a teacher at Union Academy. He was rushing down the sidewalk in a hurry because he had overslept; he pulled an all-nighter the previous day to finish his work.
Izuku: "Geez! I should have charged up the suit"
Daniel: "Izuku"
Izuku: "AH!"
Izuku jumped to the side surprised and slightly freaked out when he heard Daniel's voice in an alleyway he passed. Which made him stumble a bit toward the street and almost fall on his back, but before he hit the ground, someone grabbed his tie and pulled him back up to his feet. Izuku sighed in relief and took a breather before looking up to see Daniel standing there, with a usual blank expression, and eating some Berrypheasant Skewer
Izuku: "Da-Danny? Is that you?"
Daniel: "Yeah?" (he said muffling before swallowing down his food, finishing a skewer) "Who else would it be?" (Takes another bite out his last skewer and finish it)
Izuku: "O-Oh sorry! is just that . . we haven't seen each other in a long time old friend. . thought that after everything you've just moved on after—"
Daniel: (raise his hand, signaling Izuku to stop) "Enough, that was a long time ago, and things have changed for the better . . . . . I can forgive and forget"
Izuku: "Re-Really? That's great!" (smiles, but then his eyes widen) "Wa-wait!? What am I doing!? I'm going to be late for my class!" (was going to go back to running)
Daniel: "Actually" (places his hand on Izuku's shoulder, stopping him) "That is what I wanted to ask you about Izuku, you're a teacher now right?"
Izuku: "Uuh yeah? I work at Union Academy right now, why do you ask?"
Daniel: "I need your help with something that involves education"
Izuku: (Tilts his head) "Yo-You want my help? Hmm, what do you wish to know about education then?"
Daniel: How to be an educator
Izuku: "Huh!?" (eyes widen) "You want to know how to be an educator!?"
Daniel: "Yes, that is what I wish to know"
Izuku: "B-But why?"
Daniel: "Hmm come" (walks past Izuku) "I shall tell you on our way to Union Academy"
Izuku: "Okay, but are you sure you want to go to Union Academy with me?"
Daniel: (nods) "I'll be fine, don't worry"
Daniel and Izuku walk together to Union Academy. Along the way, Daniel shares what happened the day before. He talks about defeating Freed and saving a kid who speaks Spanish but has a quirk that allows him to understand and write in any language. Daniel also reflects on the struggles he observed in the kid's classroom, particularly during an English class in middle school. As a result of these experiences, he has decided to become an educator and help teach young students in an English classroom.
Izuku: "Hmm okay okay I understand now why you wish to become an educator, but can I ask you a few questions? Maybe they'll have you get a clear vision of what you want"
Daniel: "Alright, ask away"
Izuku: (nods) "I'll start with this one, what exactly is the potential you wish to get out of this possible future students of yours?"
Daniel: "Hmm? What potential? Like what I exactly want for them to accomplish?"
Izuku: "Something like that, like what do you wish to unlock from them when in your class?"
-> Daniel: "Hmmmm well I would want for them to let out their potential by developing in students their ability to communicate effectively and speak the English language without issue, making sure that they can think critically, and of course, express themselves creatively. Maybe if I work on topics like reading and writing skills, I could help students become confident communicators who can convey their ideas. Plus, through analyzing texts, they learn to question and interpret information, building the critical thinking skills essential for today's world. This also leads to students wanting to explore diverse perspectives in literature, fostering empathy and broad cultural awareness. Ultimately, I aim to instill in them to be able to not just speak and write things in English, but maybe build a love for reading and learning that will stay with them, equipping them to be thoughtful, articulate, and engaged members of society"
Izuku: "Who-Whoa there Daniel, that's a lot you want to do"
Daniel: "I know, but it's my plan and hopefully if this future comes to fruition I wish it ends up like that"
Izuku: "Right well, I see now what potential you wish to bring out from them, but then how do you hope to let out the maximum potential of these students?"
-> Daniel: "Maximum potential? Hmmm to that my answer would be this" (crosses his arms) "To let out their maximum potential, I would need to focus on developing both their language skills and their personal growth. This can work by creating individual learning paths that dwell on the student's interest and level of learning. Additionally, I would like to create a supportive environment. In the class, I wish to encourage open discussions where students feel safe sharing ideas, asking questions, and exploring different interpretations. This could help them build confidence and learn to express themselves without fear of judgment. I could also add interactive activities, like group projects and creative writing exercises, to keep students engaged. Finally, encouraging students to set reading and writing goals, and reflect on their progress, gives them a sense of ownership over their learning. Combined with supportive feedback from both teachers and family, this approach could be the chance for them to build the skills and mindset they need to become confident, lifelong learners and effective communicators."
Izuku: "Tha-That's amazing Danny! With that mindset alone I'm sure you'll be a great educator"
Daniel: "Thank you, but even I still know there's still so much I could learn and acknowledge before taking part in being an educator, so do you have anything else you could ask me?"
Izuku: "Hmm well, motivation is also a key to creating a great environment in a classroom"
Daniel: "I have to motivate them?
Izuku: That's right, so how would you create a motivational environment for students?"
-> Daniel: ". . . I would create by stating a few things, like making the environment a safe and respectful atmosphere. I would like them to feel safe, respected, and valued in a classroom where they can express themselves without fear so that they can participate and take risks in their learning. Also, clearing a goal when students understand what is expected of them and see a clear path to success, they are more motivated to engage and strive toward those goals. This can be possible if I add a variety of learning activities where I use mixed teaching methods, to keep students engaged and curious. Incorporate group discussions, hands-on projects, creative assignments, and technology to cater to different learning styles and make learning enjoyable. Furthermore, I could build relationships with them to know each student's interests, strengths, and challenges. I heard that if a teacher is genuinely supportive of their students, they'll trust you and they're more likely to feel motivated to do their best. Let's not forget about seeing their progress and effort, it should be celebrated to recognize students' efforts and accomplishments, no matter how small. By focusing on improvement and celebrating achievements, encouragement of a growth mindset, helping students feel motivated to continue learning."
Izuku: "Alright hmmm, but how would you promote success?
Daniel: Promote umm success?
Izuku: "Uh huh, how would promote success in that motivational environment that you created?"
-> Daniel: "Okay" (scratches his chin) "Then I would promote success by hmmmm you mind if I picture my answer in scenarios?"
Izuku: "Yeah sure, go for it Danny"
-> Daniel: "Thanks, so In an English class, a teacher might start by saying, 'Today, let's set some specific goals for improving our writing. Maybe you'd like to make your arguments stronger or use more descriptive language. By focusing on one or two areas, you'll be able to see your progress.' When a student asks about a recent essay, the teacher could respond, 'Great question! Instead of just fixing errors, let's think about how adding evidence might strengthen your argument. Each draft is a chance to grow.' During a class discussion, the teacher might encourage critical thinking, saying, 'Why do you think the character acted this way? Sharing our interpretations helps us understand the story from different angles.' Finally, the teacher reinforces a supportive atmosphere by acknowledging student efforts, 'I saw so much improvement in everyone's essays this time—you should be proud of your progress!' In this way, the teacher sets clear goals, fosters a growth mindset, and builds essential skills, creating a classroom environment where students feel motivated and empowered to succeed."
Izuke: "Nice, that sounds like a great idea! Maybe I could do that too in my classes, even though I think I already do haf og what you pictured"
Daniel: I'm sure you're a great teacher, don't sell yourself short because I'm the one learning from you, not the other way around"
Izuke: That's thoughtful of you Danny, but I wouldn't give myself too much credit since I'm not really doing anything, just helping you a better view of what you want"
Daniel: "And I appreciate it"
Izuku: "Now I'll give you one last question"
Daniel: "Got it"
Izuku: "I want you to think about this one, so listen closely" (crosses his arms) "What educational strategies are appropriate to use?"
-> Daniel: "I was hoping you ask that" (nods) "for my educational strategies I thought appropriately that using a range of educational strategies can help students fully engage with the material and develop key skills. For example, active learning strategies, like debates or role-playing activities, encourage students to dive deeper into the text by analyzing a character's motivations or debating a theme, making learning more engaging and relevant. Differentiated instruction is also essential, as it recognizes that students have different needs and abilities; some may use graphic organizers to plan an essay, while others might tackle a more advanced project, like creating a multimedia presentation on the novel's setting or themes. Scaffolding is highly effective in this setting as well. For instance, when teaching essay writing, a teacher might first model how to analyze a quote, then guide students in creating thesis statements, and gradually let them draft essays independently. This step-by-step approach builds confidence as students master each skill. Collaborative learning also enriches the classroom experience; students can work in small groups to dissect a poem or analyze symbols, allowing them to share diverse perspectives and learn from one another, which strengthens both their comprehension and communication skills. Using technology, like shared digital annotation platforms, allows students to engage with the text and interact with classmates' ideas, adding another layer of interaction. Finally, regular feedback and reflection are essential; after submitting an assignment, students can review feedback, set personal improvement goals, and reflect on their progress. Together, these strategies create a well-rounded learning environment where students feel supported, actively engaged, and empowered to improve both academically and personally."
Izuku: "Alright alright, I see what you're trying to say, but you know" (places his hand on Daniel's shoulder) "why don't you observe my class today and I'll ask you a few more things later"
Daniel: "Wait really? Are you sure that's okay?"
Izuku: "Yeah, come on we're almost to Union Academy"
The two had been walking for a while, and Izuku kept asking Daniel his question. Soon after Daniel finished the last question, they walked past the gate that belonged to Union Academy and made their way to the entrance. Izuku opens the door and they both go in and are met with a surprise. It was Aizawa, the known hero named Eraserhead, and also a teacher in Union Academy like Izuku.
Aizawa: "Midoriya you better have a good explanation as to why you're late, those brats of yours have been— Daniel"
Izuku: "O-Oh! Aizawa-Sensei! Well you see—"
Daniel: (smiles) "Hello Aizawa, how have you been?"
Aizawa: "Well I'll be" (chuckles before smiling) "is good to see you kid" (hugs Daniel)
Daniel: "Great to see you too old man" (hugs him back before pulling away) "Looks like you're fine"
Aizawa: "Yeah I've seen better days, though I'm surprised you're even stepping foot in this place after all the chaos that surrounds you"
Daniel: "It's fine, I've come here to learn from Izuku"
Aizawa: "Learn from Izuku? What do you mean?"
Daniel: "I want to be an educator"
Aizawa: "Oh, now that's something I did not expect"
Daniel: (chuckles) "You're telling me" (gives him a small salute) "I'll see you around" (turns to Izuku) "Shall we go?"
Izuku: "Ye-Yeah let's go, have a good day Aizawa-Sensei"
They walk away from Aizawa and walk down the large and long hallway towards Izuku's classrooms. As they approached the door, the chaos grew louder.
Daniel: (I stood beside Izuku, who was in front of the door) "You got you're work cut out for you"
Izuku: (sighs) "Yep, but I'm used to it"
Izuku opens the door, and they both witness the chaos that is happening right now in the room.
It wasn't pretty, things were being thrown around, teenagers were running around or jumping around, one person was sleeping, and probably a lot of screaming in the room.
Daniel: "Wow, this is a nightmare . . . . . meh this won't change my mind"
Izuku: "I'm surprised it won't, most would give up just seeing this"
Daniel: "I'm not most, remember that my old friend" (crosses his arms and tilts his head) "How are you going to stop this?"
Izuku: "Hmm I always have to improvise when stuff like this happens"
Daniel: "Want me to try something?"
Izuku: "I'm all up for ideas"
Daniel walks into the classroom and looks at all the students before unleashing a surge of his power.
This act alone made everyone go back to their seats, go quiet, and put their heads down while shaking in fear. Seeing things have resolved he lowers his power.
Daniel: "Problem solved"
Izuku: "I wouldn't use that in the future, but you at least calmed the situation so that's good"
The students stop lowering their heads and look towards the adults. When they saw Daniel they were all almost about to jump out of their seats and ask him questions, since his quite famous, but Izuku stopped them.
Izuku: "Now before anyone starts fanboying or fangirling, Mister Moze has only come here to watch our class, so please do not distract yourself with him and focus please"
Daniel: "I'll just go invisible in the corner if you want"
Izuku: "Please do"
Daniel walks towards the corner of the room and leans on the wall before his shadow becomes purple and covers him, completely turning him invisible.
The students were shocked, but their attention was grabbed when Izuku clapped his hands together. Izuku was standing in front of the board and smiled at his students.
Izuku: "Alright then, let's start"
