Hope with a touch of cinnamon and butterscotch
Last time, you were in a mall with a bunch of troops. Then this skeleton guy just appeared and killed all of them. He calls himself "G", and now the three of you were outside in plain sight.
"Look, we're thankful that you saved us, but we don't really have time—"
"Why? Got any plans?" G cut you off as he put a cig in between his...
...teeth.
You gestured Frisk to put on his mask, he did so quietly. You were used to the smoke, since your dad used to smoke when he's stressed. This skeleton's attitude pissed you off, but you can't get yourself killed in the hands of him. Sure, you'd rather get killed by other monsters, but not this cocky skeleton.
Hell no.
You breathed deeply, as if to calm you down. And make sure you don't slap his face. "We have to move somewhere else since earlier we got attacked." You explained. Though you don't know why you're telling all of this to him.
He turned to you, half his face still covered with blood. "You can stay with us for a while."
You raised a brow. You scoffed as you crossed your arms. "Us? Ha! As if! What makes you think we'll go with you?"
He smirked as both his...erm, white pupils disappeared. "Ya' can't risk your kid around this place with a bunch of retards here, now would you?"
His creepy and scary expression didn't scare you, but what he said did. Beads of sweat started forming on your forehead. Can you really trust this guy? What if he sends you two to the high council? What if he's a spy and kills you two? You have more questions than answers, and definitely full of doubt.
"Come on, tiger. Trust me." His vibe turned friendly as his pupils reappeared. The name he gave you this time made you feel better about him. He lend out his hand, waiting for you to take it.
"Come on, Y/N! We've got nowhere else." Frisk pleaded. "And he's funny!"
Again, you question yourself why he finds him funny.
You hesitatingly took his hand. Then without a second to lose, you were surrounded with yellow light. You saw flashes of the universe, it made your eyes glow purple. You stared at everything in awe as Frisk laughed. Then, it flashed back to reality. You found yourself in a small house. The atmosphere was cozy, with a touch of cinnamon scented air freshener. G let you go as he smiled, he was letting you lose like a curious kitty. You feel the belt unwrapping itself from you as Frisk jumped and ran around, laughing. There was a mint green couch, round, violet carpet, a fireplace made with different kinds of stone, the walls were colored pastel yellow. You weren't expecting someone like G would live in this kind of place.
"Woah, there. Howdy!" You hear a deep but soothing voice say, making you turn to see a goat monster about G's height. He was wearing an apron and gloves, but below that was a black sweater and white pants. He had horns that was a bit curled backwards. He was holding a pie that smelled like cinnamon and butterscotch. Frisk apologized as he turned red in embarrassment. He ran to you, digging his face into your shirt.
"I'm sorry with his behavior." You smiled at him, meeting his royal blue eyes. But beneath that smile...
Oh look, another monster.
It wasn't surprising for you, of course. "It's fine. G, you didn't tell me we have guests." He said. "And humans."
Well, that got you a bit triggered.
Watch it people, Y/N's a hypocrite.
"Eh, just found them while I was hunting."
Oh, he calls that hunting. Sure.
"Asriel, this is Y/N and the kid is Frisk." G introduced. "They'll be staying with us for a while." You were able to muster up a friendly smile. Frisk noticed and was a bit shocked. He knew you weren't the friendly type—and you didn't have a lot of friends before all of this happened. He just shrugged and smiled too, but a shy one.
"Howdy! As you heard from G, I'm Asriel! Nice to meet all of you!" He exclaimed. He seems a nice goat, but you still didn't trust this goat boy...
...Who has an extremely friendly vibe and has a big brother figure.
Perhaps even a father figure.
"You're all just in time for breakfast!" He put the well-cooked pie on a round, dark oak table. Suddenly, the atmosphere around him went dark. "G, go wash yourself."
You were a bit taken aback by this sudden behavior. And you felt G cower behind you. "Alright, mom." But he still managed to snicker and walks away.
"Come! Eat! You must be starving!" Asriel insisted. You told Frisk to wash his hands as he ran away to the kitchen. You took off your jacket and tied the sleeves around your waist. You nervously sat down in the opposite side where Asriel sat. "So, why were you two out all alone? It's dangerous for humans to be out in plain sight."
"We're stranded..." You muttered. Asriel gave you a slice as he wore a pitiful look. You didn't like his expression, but you chose to ignore him anyway. "What about you and G? Why are you here instead of serving the high council or something?" You asked as you took a bite. The flavors exploded in your mouth. You felt as if this was your first meal in decades. The cinnamon and butterscotch blended nicely in your mouth as the softness of the dough was chewy. The crusty part of the pie was just right.
While you were enjoying Asriel's cooking, you didn't notice he was silent. Perhaps your question was rather harsh?
"I don't serve the high council," he said blankly. "I used to be part of it." His answer nearly choked you. You thought you hit the jackpot, and the road to ghost town. You instantly got scared, you admitted. Life is full of surprises, eh? "I was the Prince of the monsters. When I knew what my parents intend to do, I ran away. Then I met G."
Well, you fvcked up.
"G wasn't serving the high council, but rather against it. So we ran away, it seems like we were the only monsters who doesn't like the idea of slaughtering the humans." He said as he took a slice and put it beside your plate. "So please, don't be afraid of us." He gave you a heartwarming smile.
You stared at him, thinking if he read your mind or something. You hear Frisk's running footsteps coming your way, instantly curling a smile. "There you are. What took you so long?" You asked as you helped him up on the chair.
"I had to double wash my hands with soap. We were from outside and it's very dirty outside." He smiled. He took the slice by hand and took one, big bite. You saw his gold eyes sparkle in delight. "This tastes awesome, Mr. Goat man!"
You and Asriel laughed. "Frisk, manners." You whispered. He quickly put down the pie and used the utensils.
"I mean, uh, Ariel!"
Asriel smiled. "You're very welcome. And it's Asriel." You were glad at how things are going. All of you started talking about yourselves and soon, G came to join the fun. You and G made jokes, making Frisk laugh out loud while Asriel just scolded both of you at how your jokes sound very disappointing and that the quality is very much making him unamused.
After the fun session and pie, Asriel showed you to your room. It wasn't a small room, and it also wasn't a big one either. It was just right. Though the bed is only suitable for one person, you and Frisk has a small body so it will do. The walls were a dark shade of blue as it was decorated with stars and planets. You also saw some stuffed toys and small shoes. The closet was full of small clothes, some fitted you. The window was just beside the bed by the wall, showing a thin forest. You assumed this belonged to s child.
"I'm sorry it's a bit dusty." Asriel apologized.
"No, it's good. Thanks for everything." You smiled, and it was, surprisingly, a sincere one.
"No problem. If you need anything, just call." He says, closing the door as he left you two alone. Frisk laughed as he ran around and jumped on the bed. You were glad that Frisk is enjoying their stay so far. Exhausted, you let yourself fall on the bed beside him.
"Go sleep, Y/N. You haven't been sleeping properly." Frisk says as he wraps his arms around you. You did the same and kissed his forehead.
"Alright."
"Sweet dreams, Y/N!" Frisk said happily as he drifted to sleep. You smiled at the child in your arms right now. You thought what would your life be without him. You yawned as you closed your eyes.
And for the first time, you slept peacefully.
While downstairs, a conference is happening at the moment.
"G, what the hell? Why'd you bring humans here?" Asriel asked, pacing around the room with his arms crossed.
G was sitting lazily on the couch, clearly annoyed with Asriel right now. "What? I can't just leave them there."
"Well,I think you forgot; my dad is still after us! If he finds us, he'll kill them with no mercy!" Asriel protests, dark lines starting to appear on each side of his face.
"Calm down, Azzy." G rolled his pupils. "We can protect them. They're just humans, and they don't have magic—" he stopped. He remembered how your eyes flamed neon purple the first time you two went face to face. He suddenly sparked an interest in you. "Or..."
Asriel just stared at him curiously, then he chuckled. "I know that look. You really are the son of Gaster."
G smiled at him.
They have a plan.
And I don't think you're gonna like it.

The thought of having a new monster friend made you feel curious and overprotective of Frisk, not realizing hope finally came to play with you.
And with a touch of cinnamon and butterscotch.
