Hope or just a misundertanding?

It was already the next day, and you didn't have a good sleep. The little human sleeped peacefully beside you, adorably snoring as he's curled into a ball. The incidents yesterday kept you awake. Let's recount one of them, shall we?

You were finding something to do. You were instantly bored as it was already noon. Frisk was playing with Asriel outside, and G disappeared yet again. You wondered where could he be everytime he runs off like that. You took this chance to look inside his room. You glanced outside, making sure the two doesn't notice you. You also glanced around, and G wasn't there. You sneaked your way up the stairs, checking behind every step. You weren't scared that G might kill you for this, you can handle him. What scared you is that he might try to make you fluster again.

Boy, you didn't like what happened in there.

You were finally in his room. God, it's messy. Like a storm had just passed here. You weren't surprised with this. You saw a decent picture on his bedside table. It had two goat monsters, a yellow dinosaur, a blue fish lady, two skeletons and a little human. You squinted. She looked a lot like Frisk, only her hair was longer and her eyes are shut closed. You wonders who could these people possibly be. But you just shrugged it off as you walked towards a small library in the corner. Bored, you decided to take a book or two so you could read. One book was about monsters and their history, your curiosity made you get it. For now, that's all what interested you. You turned and was suddenly pinned on the wall by the tall skeleton. It was hard, it hurt. And it made a few books fall on him.

"You're just too much of a curious kitten, eh?" He said in a low tone. "What are you doing in here?"

You just stared at him. Your heart was beating fast, it didn't let you talk. You knew the answer, but you didn't know what to say. He sighed and he put your baby bangs that fell on your face to the side. His actions we're making your heart beat faster.

"It's okay. Just... Don't go in here again." He whispered. You didn't knew why he was acting like this. Was there something important in here?

He was waiting for your answer. He would usually yell if the answer took too long, but he somehow didn't. And somehow, he wasn't mad. And there's too many secrets in his room you might find, yet he isn't mad. He can't be mad at you, and he's questioning why.

"...G?" You said quietly. For the first time, your eyes showed concern for the skeleton. He noticed this and chuckled. He patted your head as he got off of you.

"It's all fine. Now get out before I do something to ya' that you won't like." He went back to normal. Cause he was wearing a mischievous a smile that scared you. (//Cough// Se—//slapped by reader//)

"O-okay." You said and quickly scurried out his room. You held the book close to your chest as your heart raced, but you ignore that for now. G was hiding something. And you're gonna find out what.

You internally screamed in your pillow. You cursed repeatedly. Why did he have to do this to you, you ask. Your heart keeps racing whenever he's too close to you, same for Asriel. You sat up and stared out the window. It was raining hard. The water trailed down the window slowly. These kinds of things makes you feel better. With the silence, it also made you calm. Not until someone knocked on the door.

"Tiger? You awake?" G's whispering voice caught you off guard.

"U-uh, yeah...?" You whispered back, unsure with what you're supposed to say. It's like 5 in the morning and he's asking you if you're awake? Ugh, seriously?

...but you are soooooo...

He went inside and tossed you your own jacket at you. You quickly caught it as you were making sure it wouldn't land on Frisk. You sent him a quick glare before sighing.

"What?"

"I'm going out, "hunting"." He says as he his his hands in his pockets. "Thought I need a hand since you could fight."

Hunting? Sure, you don't mind going out hunting with him. But a part of you didn't want to. You were afraid of the sight you'll be able to see once you stepped out of this house. For three whole days, you were already attached to the place. It was cozy, it had wonderful monsters, it made Frisk happy...

...and it somehow made you happy.

Even if the people who owns it pisses you off.

"Uh...Tiger?" He waved his hand in front of your face. "You still there?"

You snapped back to reality and stared at his questioning look. You smiled slightly. "Sure."

You were all ready. You were wearing your signature jacket, fingerless gloves, mask and brought your weapon for hand-to-hand combat. Your hair was tied neatly, making sure none of your baby hair would fall on your face. It was still raining, but not as hard like earlier. G finally appeared, like he always does.

"Ya' ready, kitten?" He asked, reassuring himself you can take this. Oh, but he wished you can't. He was too concerned for you. And he still won't admit it. He definitely likes yo—

No sh¡tty thoughts, G. No, it can't be.

What a denier he is, right?

Anyways, you gave him a smirk and pat on the shoulder. "Psh. I was born ready, bone head." You chuckled.

This action made G's soul flutter. He can feel the warmth from your hand going through his shoulder fast like wildfire. Ever since he saw you, his cold side left him with a warmer side. Plus, you makes good puns.

Even Asriel had noticed this, but never told him.

Cause he was jeeeeaaaaaaloooouuuussss.

Ahem.

Anyways, G was stunned from this. You were confused at how this action made him freeze.

My god, how naive are you, Y/N?

You snapped your fingers in front of his face, litterally snapping him back to reality as his confused and "in love" train of thought broke.

"Hey, are you okay?" You asked. You have to admit, you are concerned about him. Most specially with this other side of him he had shown yesterday that was foreign to you.

But you two only knew each other for three days. You don't know him that much yet.

And yet there's this very odd feeling in the pit of your stomach that you know him too well.

"U-uh, yeah." He stammered. You saw a slight tint of yellow spread through his face.

What the actual fu—is that supposed to be blush?

You can't help but wonder at what the fvck is happening to his face. As someone who's specialty is human and monster science at her school, this sparked an interest in you. You wanted to ask, but shook it off anyways. You'll ask him later, it's getting late.

He coughed. "Okay, enough with the staring contest, kitten. We've got to go." He says as he turned his face away, feeling the blush turn intense. He hated this feeling ever since...

He remembered to forget that memory and decided to focuse on more important things in the present.

Like his brave kitten.

You two were in a ruined city, but this was more decent than the other city you and Frisk had stayed. The buildings weren't as damaged and you could see there's still lights in some of them. It was still raining, and both of you are soaking wet. Your wet clothes were a bit heavy as you walked throught the fallen debris. G is leading the way, of course. Since he's been here already. It was quiet, the only thing you can hear were the raindrops. You noticed whenever it's just you and G alone, it's either the atmosphere between you two is quiet or it the conversation gets a bit tense and awkward.

You're the one who felt tense, of course. You're not sure if he feels the same.

He doesn't feel tense (okay, a bit), he feels nervous around you for some reason.

Damn it, these people.

YOU LIKE EACH OTH—

Ahem.

I'll just shut and not try spoil anything.

Anyways, you followed G inside a grocery store.

Wal-Mart.

Woop.

If only the wifi still works.

"Let's split here. Get anything ya' want and need. Maybe something for the kid." He says as he left you.

Welp, you know what you want to get, and know where the bacon is. You rushed through the food aisle like a kid wanting to buy candy. Eh, well. You are buying candy.

G regretted leaving you there. Because he turned and you weren't there. He sighed as he just continued walking. He took this chance to think about what to do with you. You have magic in your veins, it made him curious. No human can wield magic, unless they have monster blood in them. He thought about how your eyes glowed a neon purple.

Perseverance. One of the weakest souls in the world.

And yet he was impressed that you were able to make your weak magic useful. You've made it powerful. His main goal right now is to observe and protect you.

But Frisk. He thought there was something different about him. About his soul.

And he wants to find out what.

You stuffed the candy you took in your pocket for Frisk. You also took some medicine from a small pharmacy just in case. You also took simple food like chips, water, biscuits, etc. You put all of this inside an abandoned, small, blue string bag. As you made your way back to the entrance where G had left you, you suddenly stopped in your tracks as you heard chatting. The unfamiliar voices chatting incoherently made your defense rise. The voices got closer as you found your back meet the wall.

"Psh, she ain't worth it." One monster said. He saw you. First, his face showed shock. Then the next expression made you confused. You didn't understand. You questioned why hasn't he attacked you, or told his friend.

"Jared? Jared, what—" The other one said as he turned to your direction. "What the hell, Jared? Why didn't you—" He was about to run towards you, until the Jared guy run towards his friend and hit him on the aisle, making packets of biscuits fall on both of them. You didn't understand what's happening.

Wait, what the fvck is happening right now?!

Then you realized, he was showing pity and guilt.

Jared turned to you as he tried to trap his 'friend'. "Go, run!" He shouted. You were confused as hell, but it didn't matter. Your feet started running fast. You ran pass them as you found G.

"G, teleport us out!" You shouted at him.

"What? why—" You grabbed his arm as you heard the monsters fighting back in the food aisle.

"Just do it!"

With that, you two were teleported out.

Jared and his friend (whose name was actually Hunter) were standing straight beside each other, bruises and wounds on their faces and bodies. Walking towards them was the king of monsters. He walked towards them slowly, his purple cape was dragged on the floor. He was wearing black armor. His blonde hair and beard was neatly brushed. He was holding and red triton (that's what you call it right?) that glows.

"Which one of you betrayed me?" He asked in an overpowered, intimidating voice.

With no hesitation, Jared stood forward as he tried to avoid looking like a coward he is. "It's me, sir."

"I appreciate your honesty, Jared. But why did you let it escape?"

Jared was sweating. He didn't know what to answer. Any wrong sentence could get him killed. Though he does not know the king was merciful and kind personally, anything gore-related could happen.

Most specially when it comes to humans.

Jared, as someone who has been raised too well, told him the truth. Told him what he feels inside about the human killing spree. "With all due respect, y-your majesty, but this is all wrong!" He exclaimed. His fellow soldiers around him just stared at him in shock and disbelief. Jared had noticed this, but didn't let it bother him. "K-killing humans? Sir, they have families! And we've killed most of them. We can't go on with this law."

The king showed nothing but respect towards him. He always thought he was something different from the others. He was his best soldier. And he refused to lose him. "I understand what you are saying, child. But think of what they've done to us a hundred years ago."

Jared flinched.

"They trapped us underground. We had to survive with nothing beneath the surface. Luckily, our scientists found a way. The core." He explained. "We're just giving them what we had, but just more...gruesome." He put his giant paw on his head. "I forgive you. This is your last chance. Do not disappoint me again, Jared."

"Y-yes, sir..." He stammered. As the king walked away, Jared knew all of this is still wrong. Revenge was never the answer. But sometimes, we just have to be selfish...

And don't die.

Today was a confusing day as you and G went 'hunting'. A monster who saved you from his own race's evil plan has made you dumbfounded, but never knew that someone is behind this strange attitude. And it's definitely not the king.
