Putting both sets of gloves aside, Lapin checked out the next item that caught his attention, a pair of tinted glasses. The frames were actually made for a child, and fit much better than the ones he'd borrowed from his father "I wasn't expecting to get a new pair of glasses" Lapin mused as he put them on, immediately noting that his sight wasn't tinted like it should be.

Kaito smiled "Glasses are so useful though, those have infrared, night vision, UV protection, and a zoom function" He paused "I haven't decided what sort of trackers we'll be using so I left out the tracking function for now" He was picky when it came to tracking devices, so he kept changing them up.

"Won't I look weird wearing sunglasses when it's dark?" Lapin inquired, referring to the night vision function. Touching the frames, he could faintly feel buttons that he hadn't seen before. One could easily mistake them as being there for stylish texture, especially since both sides had buttons but only the right side activated anything.

"Nah" Kaito waved a hand in dismissal "We'll be open about the UV and night vision" He reached over and rested them on top of Lapin's head instead of over his eyes "Are they comfy like that?"

Lapin blinked, then nodded "Yeah" He tilted his head side to side, the glasses stayed comfortably snug on his head. That was a relief "My other glasses were so annoying, they kept slipping and falling from my face"

Kaito rolled his eyes "They were made for an adult, those are specifically made for you" He took out a pair of black sneakers that had red trimmings "If you don't know how to use roller skates, you'll have to learn" He pressed a button at the side and wheels popped out of the soles. They were small wheels, but durable ones. Bigger wheels would have resulted in clunky shoes.

The shrunken sleuth accepted the shoes, trying them on. The insides were very cushy and fit well, he could also tell that they were also steel toed "I'm no expert, but I can get by" He was more familiar with skateboards.

"Those shoes are charged by concussive force, the more you step or walk, the more juice they build up" Kaito eyes glinted playfully "At full charge, they can last as turbo-shoes for a half hour. Holding a larger charge than that didn't sound like a good idea..." He didn't want the other's feet to spontaneously combust "Any excess energy gathered is just released back into the ground... A quick way to charge them is with a USB cord"

Lapin eyed his new shoes warily "How do I activate and deactivate the turbo function?" Randomly zooming off into a wall didn't sound too good.

Kaito tossed Lapin a watch, it was simple and digital "To start off you can press a button on this" Indigos gleamed "It won't break, the glass case is bulletproof"

"To start off?" Lapin wasn't sure if he really wanted to know the answer.

"Eventually you'll learn to just flex your feet a certain way to give all the commands. The shoes have built in sensors" Kaito would be the first to admit that he was a bit jealous, the shoes were so cool, but he couldn't use them himself.

"Umm... Sure" The tiny sleuth purposely held his feet still, afraid of accidentally activating the shoes.

Kaito laughed, practically reading Lapin's mind "The sensors only activate if you tap both your heels together three times, I'm very thorough when it comes to making gadgets"

Lapin let out a relieved breath, glaring when Kaito laughed in response "My concern was valid, nobody wants to slam into a wall at high speeds"

Snorting, Kaito nodded as he revealed the last item "This is a retractable rope" He stated, handing Lapin a small rectangle box that fit in the palm of his hand. He held onto a flap as Lapin took the box "It's slash, fire, waterproof, and extends 50 metres" Having something like that would have been so useful when he'd been Kid "It can handle half a ton of stress, but only once. It won't retract, but it'll hold whatever it's holding up for a while"

"This would make rescues a lot easier" Lapin then frowned "Why can't first responders have something like this too?"

"It can be dangerous and not every first responder is competent sadly" Kaito sighed "And they can be costly to make if they're not taken care of properly"

"Ah..." Lapin winced "I'll take care of everything as best as I can"

Kaito nodded "I'll do frequent maintenance on them, but I won't be too upset if you have to break something to save someone" Items could be replaced, lost life can't be replaced.

Checking the box, Lapin noted that it was now empty except for protective fillers "Is there no weapon besides the claws?" The claws were short ranged, something with a longer range would make him feel better.

"So being unable to attack criminals is disappointing?"

Lapin spluttered "No!"

Snickering, Kaito shook his head "I haven't thought of the right tool yet, kicking stuff would be too similar to both Kudo Shinichi and Edogawa Conan. You need to be visibly different so that nobody suspects anything"

Azure lowered in thought, Kaito was right, Kicking things would be too obvious. A faint nudge to his arm brought a small smile to his face, Sooty was really cute. He gave the kitten a few good scratches on the head "You're right, it would be too obvious" He eyed the gloves, frowning hard as an idea came to him. It was stupid, very stupid, but it was also something he'd never willingly do. Just thinking about it made him cringe, but it would also prevent anyone who knew him from recognizing him at all "Sooty is going to be your assistant too right?" He visibly cringed "What if my tools were cat themed aesthetically?"

Kaito frowned "It's obvious that you don't want that"

"Which is why it's a perfect idea, nobody would expect that of me"

Pursing his lips, Kaito sighed "I'll make sketches, but you will have to act like a huge cat lover because I don't want to be known as the creep that dressed his little brother up with cat themed stuff"

Me: Paranoia makes people do weird things, will Lapin be able to stomach going through with this idea of back out once he sees Kaito's sketches? Hmm. I doubt he'll be able to pull it off.

Don't worry, no matter what, he won't drastically change, and characters are capable of backing out of ideas XD

I hate Canada Day (July 1) and July 4, Why? Because fireworks terrorize veterans, wildlife, and more pets escape during that time than any other time of the year due to the panic. The quiet fireworks aren't used as often, because people love that terrorizing BOOM! 

Silent fireworks have the capability too be more pretty, less gunpowder for the big BOOM = More space for pretty colours and design tweaking 

Yay! let's celebrate our countries by terrorizing the ones who worked hard to keep it safe~ Good job fellow humans...

Silent fireworks aren't more expensive ._.
