Chapter 93.
Luka
I sat there for about twenty minutes before Jenni came into the room. "Luka..." She didn't sound like her happy self. She sounded afraid. "Luka, they're going to come here and let you know what's going on. Her parents won't arrive for another two and a half hours. They wouldn't tell me anything because I am not her immediate family. Jake called the sitter and will be here soon. I won't be surprised if your parents show up any minute." I didn't say anything. I simply sat there in silence. "Everything will be ok Luke." I still sat there. Looking at the ground. Hoping and praying Lily will be ok.
Fifteen minutes later, Jake arrives. Twenty minutes after that, my parents arrived. Jake and Jenni were in the waiting room upstairs and my parents were with me asking a million questions. "What happened?" . "Is Lila in the nursery?" . "Is Leena ok?" And a few more that I still ignored."Lukas?" My mother tried again to get my attention. Yet I still ignored her.
Then, there was a slight knock on the door. And the doctor came in right along. "Mr. Anderson, I have some news that isn't that great. But I need you to stay calm. So that everyone can continue to work on her." I nodded because if I didn't they wouldn't allow me to know or see her. "Ms. Miles lost a lot of blood in the accident and during and after having your daughter. Her placenta detached completely. Which was giving the baby issues with her oxygen and heart rate. That is why an emergency C-section was performed. But during the C-section she had a hemorrhage. The amount of blood loss has caused her to need a blood transfusion." I was at a loss for words. "So the car accident caused it to happen?" My mother always found a way of asking. "It could have been the cause, but it could have also been happening for a little while and the accident might have worsened it. We are doing everything we can for her to be one hundred percent ok. But there still are a lot of risks that you would need to know. She can get better but it can also worsen. It is also something that can cause a major issue. If it becomes life threatening she might have to get a hysterectomy." We all gasped. Jasleena is only twenty one years old, She would be completely devastated if she could no longer have children. She wanted more children. I was hoping and praying she would make it out ok and wouldn't need it.
