Chapter 69.

Jasleena

The following day I went to breakfast with Paola. Luka said he'd be going to lunch with my dad and his. Our parents got along pretty well. Our moms are out for the day. My parents leave tomorrow morning. Paola and I chose a small cafe. We ordered and while waiting I asked her. "So what's new? What's got you looking so much happier and in a much better place?" She smiled. Was that a blush? So it's a person. "Well..." i sighed, "Come on Paolaaaa." She laughed. "Ok... ok. So I met this guy at the library two months ago. And he kept coming in and asking questions. One day he asked me out and I told him I'll think about it. He said that it was fine, just to text him when I was ready. He gave me his phone number. He continued to come for two weeks but never pressured me to go out or anything. So I decided to give it a try. And for the last two weeks we have been officially dating." I squealed. "Shhhh Leena." She laughed "I'm still afraid things can change but he's really great. You have to meet him next time." I nodded. "Bring him for the baby shower!" Her face lit up. "You wouldn't mind?" I shook my head no. "Of course not. If you're happy and he's great bring him." She smiled and nodded. The rest of the conversation wasn't anything extreme. We had our breakfast and went back to the house. We decided it would be a movie kind of day. So we watched a couple movies. Around 4:00pm we started prepping dinner so when everyone came back they'd have food to eat.

It was dinner time and everyone joined. My parents and Lukas parents. It was a great dinner and everyone spoke about bits and pieces of their day. Then everyone went into their own conversations. The men spoke about sports while, Lukas mom and mine spoke about different things. Next thing I knew the baby shower was brought up and everyone was into that conversation. I mentioned how I wanted it to be more of an intimate thing. Where it was just family and close friends. At first Lukas' mom wanted so much more but then understood where I was coming from. We agreed on just a backyard picnic style baby shower. Lots of food and enjoying the welcoming of our baby girl.

I loved that our parents got along. I loved that my parents love Luka. I loved that Luka loved my parents. I was starting to love the life I was living. Love everyone that surrounded me. I hoped and prayed it all remained the same. That things wouldn't change. But if they did I just always hoped it would be for the better.
