Chapter 21.

Jasleena

Another month has gone by and Thanksgiving was the following week. I was supposed to go back home for that entire weekend but I had convinced my parents to only stay from Wednesday to Friday evening, rather than Wednesday to Sunday. They were ok with it because I told my mother that Jacob and I were no longer a couple for a while now. She didn't over question me about it. Which I was so grateful for, because it isn't something I want to talk to my mother about. I'd have off work from Monday to Monday. It was currently Friday and the school had an early dismissal. So after leaving work for the day I'd start my week's vacation. Lukas had texted me more than once today, he did his usual morning greeting and then texted me a bit after I had arrived home. I opened his message that said, "Hey pretty lady, I have given you months to yourself. It's time to come hang out for a bit. If you don't have anything planned, meet me at the Clinton street diner at 6 pm. And we can enjoy the night from there. Xo Lukas." I looked at the time and it was only 2 pm. I went to my room and went for a nap.

I woke up at 4:30 pm and debated whether to meet him at the diner or not. It's been a very long time since I've gone anywhere. Spoken to anyone who wasn't just my parents. I debated for another thirty minutes before getting a text from Lukas, "Come on pretty lady, come have some fun." I smiled and decided to go, but I wasn't going to tell him that. I had gotten ready and left the house by 5:30 pm. I got to the diner at 5:50 pm, but I stood sitting in my car. It was 6 pm and I started getting really nervous. My hands started shaking and I felt myself about to start crying. I started taking deep breaths to cool myself down. I got out of the car and leaned on the driver's door. I got off and started pacing, anyone watching me probably thought I was crazy or maybe even on some drugs... I was only trying not to have a full blown anxiety attack. I took three deep breaths and released slowly. I was starting to calm down, which was a good sign.

I went back in the car and grabbed my phone. I looked at the time and it was 6:15 pm. I locked my car and started walking into the diner. Just my luck I bump right into someone. What was it with me and freaking bumping into people. "I'm so sorry!" And all I heard was some laughing. "Pretty Lady, is this how we will constantly meet?" Lukas. He started laughing as he saw my flustered face. His personality was so bubbly there was no way to feel down around him. "Are you ready for a fun night Jaslee?" I lifted a brow and looked at him, "Jaslee?" He chuckled, "Yes, Jaslee. I don't want to call you what everyone else does." I couldn't hold back the small smile that creeped up. "Ok, Luka." He laughed, "That's actually not too bad." His smile was just as beautiful as the last time we hung out. "So let's start our night." He leaned over, and gave me his arm to grab, "Shall we?" I laughed and took his arm. "We shall."
