I hear my alarm in the far distance. Today is the day, the one where I take all my things and leave home. Start my life in a new state, a new environment, a new career, a new home. I've prayed everyday about this change and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I get myself up and do my morning routine. I come out with the towel on my head in just underwear, so I can figure out what to throw on. I decided on leggings, a cami, and a hoodie. Paired that up with some chucks and threw my hair into a messy bun.

I have to head out by 10am to make it to meet Ms. Maggy at 3:30pm at the apartment complex I'll be staying in. It is now 8:30am and I know everyone is up knowing I have to leave soon. I went into the kitchen and it smelled amazing. All my favorites were on the table. A knock at the door made me stop, it has to be Jacob coming to say goodbye. I was right it was Jacob. He hugged me the minute I opened the door. He wasn't letting go, so I pushed him a bit so I could give him a kiss on the cheek. He took a deep breath and asked, "Do you really have to go?" I gave him a sad smile, "You know it's a great choice, yes I'm going to miss you but I will come see you and I know you'll come see me too." He nodded and came inside.

My parents and sisters were all in the dining room waiting on me as the, temporary, last breakfast we'll have all together. We all eat and have small talk, plenty of laughter. I helped clean up and next thing we knew it was 9:30am. Mom comes to me with tears in her eyes, "Mami it's okay I'll see you soon enough. I just have to settle first and figure out my schedule then I'll come visit." She nods with a tear coming down her face. "I'm so proud of you mija. We will see you soon." She hugged me so tight and next came my sisters and hugged me. "I'm going to miss your annoying self." Said Yaz as she pushed my shoulder. I giggle, "Same." Mj didn't say anything, she just hugged me again. Then came dad, "I love you sweetheart, we'll see you soon." With a very tight hug. "I love you guys, I'll see you all soon. I grabbed Jacobs hand and went to grab my last few things to add to the car.

With everything in my car, there I stand with Jacob in front of me. The rest of my things will get there with the moving company tomorrow. Jacob looks down at me, "I'll miss you butterfly." I giggled at the nickname he still chooses to call me. "I'll miss you too, love." He hugged me tight and kissed my head. "Call me once you get there ok?" I smile and nod. I get into the car and wave, then drive off to start this new journey.
