Her keys were next to the hospital bed but she wasn't here. Where could she have gone? She's only been living in the state for two weeks, there is no way she knew where she was going. Paola was being discharged and as we waited for the paperwork she finally spoke to me. "What are we going to do Jacob?" I couldn't even answer her. I was so upset with myself that I couldn't even see any positivity out of the whole situation. I should have been happy that I was going to have a baby with the young woman I had fallen in love with. But, I couldn't find it in me to be happy. How can she seem so ok? I might have lost the love for Leena as a significant other, but I still had so much love for her as a friend. Her soul was amazing, Her personality has always been amazing and I might have just ruined that.

After being discharged and helping Paola in Leena's car, we made our way back to Leena's apartment. Mid drive Paola spoke again, "Jacob I get you're hurting. But so am I. Not only did I betray my best friend of my entire life by falling in love with you, but I'm pregnant with your child. I know she knows. Because she would have never just left like that. If she didn't know anything she would've been her supportive self. She would've been so happy for me. But right now none of it makes any sense to her. I never told her I was seeing anyone. I never told her I was really into anyone to have sexual activities with no protection. We knew the possibilities and didn't care because I love you and you love me. But now look. We were so selfish and we just might have lost our favorite person. For not telling her the minute it all started." I couldn't speak... I drove the rest of the way silently crying.

I had left Paola at the apartment, after making sure she was ok enough to rest and try not to be overly stressed because it's something that isn't any good for the baby. I told her I'd go looking for Leena. I went in my car and tried calling her phone before I started driving, but it went straight to voicemail. I left her one and sent her a few texts. Started the car and headed up the street and continued driving up and down every road. Leena, where did you go?
