Third Person POV
Lucy ran away from her so called 'friends' as quickly as she could. What had she done to warrant this treatment? I thought I was a part of the team.. but apparently I'm just as disposable as a piece of paper. "Lucy! Wait up!" Lucy let out a small gasp, was it Natsu? Had he come for her?
But when Lucy turned, her hopes were dashed, it was Akumu, not Natsu.
Why had she thought it was him anyway? He was clearly infatuated with Aku, and wanted nothing to do with Lucy herself.
"What is it?" She stood still, awaiting the answer from her.. replacement.
"I-I tried to stop them from," Akumu said in between pants, "kicking you.. off the team."
"It's fine! It's not your fault!" Lucy smiled at the poor girl, how could she have ever been angry with her?
"Well, I still feel bad regardless.."
"It's alright, really!"
"Well, how about we grab some lunch, and then I'll take you back to the guild," Aku smiled warmly.
"Sure, sounds good to me."
They walked to a nearby diner in Hargeon.
This is where.. I first payed for Natsu and Happy's food, the simple thought had her choking back a sob.
I really have become such a crybaby... huh, Mom?
"Uh, Lucy? Are you alright?" The voice snapped Lucy out of her stupor.
"Uh, yeah. Of course.."
"Akumu!" Lucy knew that voice. She knew who it was.
"What are you doing here with Lucy?" Natsu asked in a mocking tone, "You said we could go on a walk together, remember?" Natsu's voice softened as he smiled tenderly at Akumu.
"Uh, I'm sorry, I- I need to go.." Lucy tried her best to keep her voice from cracking.
She choked back a sob and ran out of the diner as quickly as she could've.
"Man... what am I supposed to do? I would try and join another team... but no one else even notices that I'm there.." Lucy's eyes wandered, flicking aroung the scenery.
Roses of every color were almost.. glowing. The trees had beautiful, intricate leaves.
As much as Lucy wanted to stay here and enjoy wherever she was.
"Lu-shee! Are you okay?" Happy's voice became more clear as he approached Lucy.
"Yeah.. I'm fine... I'll just, move on," Lucy's eyes held unshed tears, "Besides, the clock keeps on ticking, right?"
"Well, yeah, but.."
"I'll be fine, Happy.. but thank you, you've cheered me up." Lucy gave the flying blue Exceed a small smile.
"I'll fly you home.."
"Thanks, I appreciate it."
The trip was quiet. Both Natsu and Lucy were engulfed in their own thoughts, which somehow both related to the idiotic salmon haired mage who wielded Dragon Slaying Magic.
Happy dropped Lucy right in front of her home.
"Thanks again!" Lucy waved with a bright smile until Happy was out of sight.
"On any normal day.. those two would be pigging out in my fridge, snooping though my stuff.." Lucy was interrupted by her own crying, "They'd make a mess.. and I'd have to clean."
"Who knew I'd miss those days..."
"I guess what they say is true.. You never know how important something was to you until it's gone."
A/N I'm sorry! Gomenasai. This chapter was short since it sets up for the following chapters. Shit happens.
Also, Eren (Yeager/Yäger/Jaeger/Jäger) is literally a god among men.
I ship him with myself. <3
