Chapter Three

November 3rd 2012
New York City
6:17 P.M.

Cas needed to wake up and get ready for his date. His very first date. He rolled over in bed and checked the time.

6:17 P.M.

"FUCK!" He exclaimed jumping out of his bed. Dean said to be ready and dressed in something nice by seven. He rushed into the bathroom, turning the nob the the shower as he ripped off his shirt, literally.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!" He yelled, angry at himself for sleeping this late. He quickly showered and grabbed a towel, messily drying his hair off as fast as he could.

He didn't have very many "nice" clothes. He had an old pair of dress pants and a pair of new work shoes from last Christmas which he never bothered to wear. He put on the black pants and shoes and stood there with no frickin' clue as to what shirt he was going to wear.

Eventually he came across a white dress shirt and a navy blue tie. I pulled the shirt on and buttoned it, it fit snugly. He did the tie to the best of his abilities and well, let's just say it didn't go so well. He found his grandfather's old black suit jacket and put it on. It was a bit big but he could manage. Hopefully Dean thought he looked fine because honestly he felt like a mess.

He tried to fix his hair but it was still a bit wet. He finished drying it and messed round with it till he thought it looked nice. He checked the time, five to seven. He grabbed his phone along with his wallet and made sure he had his keys in his wallet. He went downstairs, locking the door behind him and he walked into the main room, pacing nervously.

What if he doesn't even show?
What if he thinks I look bad?
What if he just . . . isn't interested.
What if he . . .
What if he . . .
What if he . . .

Cas's worrying thoughts were cut off by a knock on the door. There was a classy looking Dean, smiling through the glass. Cas opened the door and practically threw himself at Dean, tackling him in a hug. Dean hesitated then wrapped his arms around him.

"Wow Cas, I will take that as excitement." Dean said as I let go of him.

"Yeah sorry, I just . . . didn't think you would come." I said, looking at the ground.

"Geez Cas, first the number, now the date. What else are you going to worry about being a lie?" Dean asked, smirking down at me.

"Well I uh . . . don't know at the moment." I admitted.

"Well you don't seem like a ditchable prom date to me Cas." Dean said, looking me straight in the eyes.

"Okay, well where are we going then?" I asked him.

"Oh you'll find out soon enough Angel." Dean said smiling As he walked to open up the passenger door of his car and signaling for me to get in.

"Angel?" I asked when he got in beside me.

"Yeah, do you like it?" Dean asked, starting the car and pulling away from the curb. I could lie and say I didn't but really, I did.

"Yeah, it is different for me. Never been called "Angel" before, feels nice." I admitted to him.

"Feels nice?" He asked, giving me a weird look from the corner of his eye. I felt my face heat up.

"Yeah, it's not normal but I just kinda like it, do you know what I mean?" I said.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." He said smiling at the road ahead. We drove through the busy city and had small little chats here and there. Dean told me about how he never really stayed in one place for very long and he is just taking it all in with me now. He told me about how Sam is going to be going to Stanford next year and how smart his little brother is. Once Dean stated telling a story from his childhood I never wanted him to stop because he gets so focused and you can see it in his vivid green eyes.

"Cas, you okay?" Dean asked, giving me a worried glance from the driver's seat.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Why do you ask?" I said.

"You were smiling like an idiot and not speaking, thought maybe you were losing it or something. Good to hear your not because I wouldn't want to take the blame." Dean said smiling.

"That's reassuring." I said with a snort. I was already having the best date ever before it has even started.

"I will take it that you are already enjoying my company then, nobody just smiles like that unless they are enjoying themselves or losing their marbles." Dean said.

"Hopefully I'm not losing it so I will go with I'm having a good time I guess." I admitted.

"That's nice to hear but you aren't having fun yet." He said, parking the car in a Walmart parking lot.

" . . . Walmart?" I asked him, wrinkling my nose.

"Yeah Angel, they call this place Walmart, what's with the sour face?" Dean asked me.

"I was expecting something better than Walmart." I said, pouting.

Dean reached over, patted my cheek and said, "Oh Angel-Face we're just getting started, by the end of the night you'll never want to leave my side."
