Gray POV
I didn't understand what Erza ment. I mean what, Natsu is jealous of Juvia. Wait that means..
"Wait a minute, you mean... that Natsu likes me???" "Finally, Gray." I was so shocked I felt silent and stood frozen and I just couldn't comprehend what that means. "Gray, now you know, what are you doing?" "What do you mean Erza?" She sighed again. "How will you react stupid. He doesn't know you know. Do you accept that he's probably gay, I mean he can be bi. Do you see him differently?" So that's what he meant yesterday. That people will see him different, he's gay or bi. He likes boys. He's afraid to confess something like that. "I don't know..." "I wasn't supposed to say this but okay. He wanted to confess to you after the mission, when you made the announcement. But..." "I didn't let him finish and I announced it so he couldn't afterwards." "Erza, why does he wants to leave the team?" "So you heard. I believe it is because he can't handle seeing you together with Juvia. He really loves you Gray, he is heartbroken ever since." I was stunned. Erza understood him so well. Now I understand why she was looking after him. "But he said it was okay if Juvia joined the team." "BAKA!" I cringed. "Everyone was okay with it, but Natsu couldn't say he wasn't. Everyone would blame him for being rude because she is your girlfriend. It was obvious she would join." "You have a point. Shit I should never have asked you guys this." "Gray, you can't blame yourself for that, if any of us would had a girl or boyfriend we all wanted that they join the team. That's obvious." "I still feel bad. But can't he give up on me." "Gray you're really stupid sometimes. You know Natsu can't." "What do you mean Erza?" "Are you really that retarded? Natsu is a dragonslayer. They choose a mate, just like dragons. If they choose the mate they chosen for life. They can only mate one person. That's why it hits him harder I guess." I felt silent. "But Erza, I can't just give up my girlfriend, because Natsu can only mate for one person." "I know that Gray, I'm not expecting you to do that. I want you to accept Natsu how he is. Probably Natsu will never be the same after this. But for now we have to find him." "I will try, I still don't know how to react to all this information."

 We started walking faster to find Natsu. We searched the whole day, we met the others a few times. But we didn't find Natsu. It started to get darker but we kept searching. We were still searching in partners. Suddenly I see something pink in the distant. I start running to it. It was in the dark forest at a lake. I ran so fast I lost Erza somewhere on the way. There he sat on the side of the lake. I was exhausted, I was breathing hard. He turned around. He looked awful. He had teary eyes. He had an sad expression, he was a mess I could at least see that. "Gray?" "I'm sorry man..." "Sorry for what?" "That I didn't understood you." His eyes went huge and he turned his face to the lake again. He was ignoring me again. I sighed. "I didn't realize it was about me all this time. That you weren't jealous of me, but were jealous at our relationship. Jealous of Juvia, of having me. I'm sorry I didn't understood sooner." "Erza told you right. You're too dense to come to this answer on your own." "Yeah you are right, Erza told me because she wanted us to stop fighting." "I got it." "Aren't you angry or something?" "Why should I be Gray? What do you want me to say? Break up? Like hell I can. I will feel guilty, I can't stand in your way of having a relationship with her." "Is that the reason this is your last mission with the team?" "Yea, I'm glad for you that you found love, but I can't bear to see it.. I'm sorry. That's a silly reason right." "No, I understand. Please be honest with me. Did you want to confess the day of the announcement?" "Yea, I actually did. But I was too late." He stood up from his place. "Gray, come we will finish this mission together. But don't forgot I will leave the team. So it is really my last mission." "What are you planning on doing after the mission?" "I.. I don't know. Maybe travel around and do quest along the way or something like that." "There is no way you can find love again?" He started blushing. "So you even heard that.. yeesh. N-no.. I won't. It's a dragonslayer thing. I can't find another love if I made a choose who my mate would be. But I'm sorry to trouble you with all this. This will make you feel guilty right. I will stop.. Come we need to meet the others." I was stunned how easy, no how he dealt with it. He looks devastated still, but he probably knew the consequence when he fell in love with another. That's the risk right, I still feel guilty though. We walked back to the others. Everyone embraced Natsu and said they were glad he is back. He didn't look glad at all. Like he didn't want to be found. He put on a fake smile. 

"Let's finish this quest!"Erza said. The others cheered. We walked to the quest site. Wendy was walking besides Natsu, they were talking about something. I couldn't hear it though. But I guess it was quite important as I looked at their faces. Wendy's face was gloom after a while. We did finish the mission without delay, Natsu used his fire like the mission asked for. The atmosphere was really different than before. On our way back to the train. Natsu stopped suddenly and said "Oi, everyone. I want you guys to know this was my last mission with the team. So you probably should change the name or something." Everyone looked in shock, expect Erza and me. Even Wendy looked like she knew. "Natsu-san, I understand it, it was so much fun having quests with you in the team." Wendy stated. "Natsu thanks for everything you did in our team. I find it a pity you quit. But I understand why." Erza said. "Natsu, we were the best team of fairy tail, remember that." I stated and fist bumped with him. He nodded. He had a hard time, he was holding in tears. "Why are you leaving Natsuu?!" Lucy yelled. " I wanted to go on so much more missions together as a team." Her tears started rolling and never stopping. "I'm sorry Luce, I can't tell you why right now. It's just. How I am now, I will hold you guys down." That left us shocked, that wasn't the whole reason. But it still shocked me that he thought he was a burden on us. "You know you're not a burden to us, right? Natsu." I asked. "Yea, I guess you guys wouldn't feel that way. But it is still my feeling. My feelings and emotions are in the way when I'm dealing with missions, so yea I think I am currently a burden to you guys." I understood but didn't like how he said it. "Juvia-san really doesn't like it that you're leaving Natsu-san. Juvia, has the feeling you are leaving because I joined. Is it? Then I will leave immediately. It was never my intention to make you leave your team Natsu-san." Wow, she actually understood Natsu. I saw Erza and Wendy both looking at the floor. "Nah, it isn't your fault Juvia. There is no reason for you to leave. I mean it's obvious that you want to go with Gray together on quest along with the team. You have every right to. It's just..." He fell silent after that. "I hope you say the truth Natsu-san, I don't want to have the burden you leaving the team because of me." "I'm fine, it is the truth Juvia." He tried to smile, it was clearly fake. But Juvia bought it. "If you say so Natsu-san." Erza sighed. Come let's board the train. 

Everyone boarded the train. All with heavy feelings. All of them fell soon asleep. I just couldn't the guilt was eating at me. "Gray-san? Are you awake?" Wendy asked. "Yea, Wendy what's wrong?" "I don't like that Natsu-san is leaving the team." "Me neither Wendy." "Then please do something Gray." "Do what Wendy, he made his choice." "You know right the real reason he's leaving." "Yea, and I guess you do too." "Yea, he told me. But it is just sad." "I feel guilty." Shit it wasn't my intention to let that slip. "You shouldn't. It's a dragonslayer thing, you can't help who you fall in love with." "He talked about the dragonslayer thing as well. You know more Wendy?" "Yea. Dragonslayer mate for life with one mate. If that mate loves someone else or is already taken. The dragonslayer can choose two things." "And what are those two things?" "First the dragonslayer can try to win the mate over, so that he can love the mate. Second choice is to leave your mate alone. And by alone I mean, that the dragonslayer will never find love and eventually dies of loneliness. Isn't that sad. I mean he is certainty choosing option two." She looked at her lap. I felt even more guilty knowing this. Natsu will die alone, dying of loneliness. It is indeed very sad. "Why doesn't he choose option one?" Wendy looked perplexed at me. "Would you?" "Eh?" "Would you choose the option that hurt others? Could you choose to break up a happy relationship, because of your selfishness. I guess not right. Natsu-san isn't a person who would hurt others for his sake." She was right. But I would rather that he tried fighting for my love than sulking away. What am I saying. I should be happy with my girlfriend, why do I think like that... "Guess you're right." "He will never be the same though. I miss him already.." "I do too Wendy-chan." 

After the train ride we walked to the guild. Still the atmosphere was heavy. Natsu looked awful, like he didn't get any sleep or eat in days. We walked in the guild and were met with many greeting. Cheers and happy faces. Natsu walked immediately to the office of gramps. Erza walked with him but he stopped her before entering. Lucy was still crying and the heavy atmosphere in the team was still lingering. "Guys, why the long faces?" I looked at Erza and she didn't want to but she told everyone Natsu left the team. Everyone in the guild was stunned and shocked. Just like us. Natsu eventually left the office together with gramps. "I understand Natsu, we will see you again. You know Fairy tail will always stays a home for you. Your family waits for you." "Yea, I know. Happy do you come with me?" "Aye sir." And he flew his way. Wait was he already planning on leaving, already. "Natsu, are you leaving?" Lucy asked still crying. Wendy was telling Gajeel and Laxus I think the whole dragonslayer thing. They looked shocked. "Yea, Luce. Just for a while I need to set my feelings straight." She started crying harder if that was possible. "Natsu, you're not leaving alone." Gajeel stated. Gajeel was concerned? "G-gajeel?" "We will come with you Natsu." Laxus stated and pointed at Gajeel and him. "I will too." Wendy said. "This was expecting, you dragonslayers watch over Natsu." Gramps told them. They all nodded. Natsu was stunned and frozen on spot. "Thank you.." he muttered. After that they all took their stuff to leave. Natsu waved and said "Goodbye everyone, see ya." The dragonslayers with their cats left. It went silent. The guild didn't feel the same. "Why did you let them leave Master?" Lucy asked still crying. "My child, he needs time alone and who will understand him better than other dragonslayers. They are like siblings. He will contact us once in a while." I felt lonely already, why did I miss the guy so much?
