glistened in the moonlight

a heart-shaped moon

stained red with the blood

of a kill for the night

Two yellow orbs gaze upon me

I turn away with a squeak of fear

Fear for the death of my comrade in arms

Fear for my very one life

My tiny heart flutters in my chest

Threatening to burst through my soft chest

To run around amidst the tall reeds

The moon with a heart and eyes

Followed me until I had left the glade
