Part One: Chapter Three
Chapter Three: Your my angel, my princess, and I won't let anything hurt you.
♔ JEFF THE KILLER'S POINT OF VIEW ♔
"I've been bored lately, Red. I'm going to skip killing on this day, " I said.
"What's your point? "
"I'll just go with you and watch you! " I exclaimed happily. She abruptly stopped, making me wonder why she just suddenly changed her mood so quickly as she stuttered uncontrollably, "N-no n-need to... You don't n-need t-to watch me," she stuttered as she fastened her pace.
"Why? " I questioned. "What's wrong? "
"Just... please? You don't need to watch me, I'm fine! "
I felt suspicion around her, yet I brush those off. I'm a bit angered on why she's hiding something from me, yet I think it's for a good reason to why she's doing this. Yeah, I won't go with her. But it doesn't mean I won't watch her.
Red's school building is coming to view and I hid behind the trees surrounding the area, deciding to to find out why she's suddenly sounded so insecure. The sun is fully out and it contrasted the color of the dead leaves as they fell down from the trees soon making them bald. I watched intently as she entered the building, and after a few minutes later the bell rang.
I stayed behind the trees for almost two hours, hearing the bell ring once or twice every hour. The tiredness and boredom got replaced by curiosity and anger, all because I know Red is not telling me something.
I treat her like a sister and it's time I act around like a brother whether she likes it or not.
Four hours later, bell rang and the students scattered making my eyes scan over them for the familiar red ponytail that would walk to the cafeteria building for her lunch. Fair enough I saw Red's figure walk by, not towards the lunch building, but towards the same oak tree on the first day we met. She opened the carved book after plugging her earphones in, and I admit that it was a cute sight to look on.
Then a few minutes later came three girls, and from what I remembered Red told me the tall brunette is Ashley, the short dirty blonde haired is Dana, and the raven haired girl is Meghan. She told me they were the ones calling her names before. My body tensed at the sight of them walking towards Red. Damn, if they ever called her ugly or fat I swear to God, I'll...
Apparently, they did something different. Their mouths were moving as if to insult her and laugh at her. Red kept her face straight and kept tracing the book, but the raven haired girl got pissed off and took her book before throwing it behind her. Red stood up in shock as the other two girls grabbed her bag and scattered her things around the fields.
I was Okay with them messing with her stuff, but what sent me on edge was when the raven haired girl pushed her up the tree, and Red stumbled around the bark.
That sent my blood boiling. I clutched my knife tightly as my eyes burned a hole into each of their heads, imagining it as if it was my knife stabbed against their skull. How dare they do that to her. And apparently, Red didn't even mention to me that they were messing with her, she only said they call her names.
They left to the cafeteria building leaving Red troubling herself to find her things. Unfortunately she couldn't sense them like she'd sense me. I sighed and made my way towards the area she's in, taking her books and her carry on along with her bag and walked towards her silently.
"Jeff, you're not supposed to be here, you shouldn't have followed me, " she said.
I sighed, "It's a good thing I did, " I paused, "Why didn't not tell me those bitches were constantly doing things to you? They took your blindness as an advantage, Red. The least you can do is tell me so I can protect you! "
I am straining myself from screaming so she wouldn't seem offended, but it's darn hard to stay straight when she's always this oblivious.
"I appreciate your concern, Jeff. I'm sorry I kept that for you. But I know you and I know you are capable in killing them if you knew they'd hurt me. I... I don't want people dying in my account. I... I... please don't hurt anyone because of me... I'm sorry I didn't tell you. " She kept her gaze down in shame and I knew she meant it. She is right after all. I am going to kill those bitches. But for her sake, I won't... for now.
I sighed, not arguing further and handing Red her stuff, "Here. Just... let me stay here in case they do it again. "
She nodded, "But what about your kills? You're gonna endure watching me rather than enjoy the thrill of your kills? "
I laughed at her question, but not finding it funny. "I'll let this state fall in peace, only at the time when I'm watching you. So maybe in weekdays. But in weekends, this state is mine to kill. "
"Whatever you say, Jeff. "
"Just.... I'm Okay if those girls touch your things, just.... if they ever touch a single hair on your head, I'll cut their stomachs open and color their insides with crayons, understood? " I demanded.
She chuckled while shaking her head, "Why must you always be so violent? "
"Violent is an understatement. The right word is... uhm...." Okay, what's the right word...? "Brutal! " I pointed out.
She just laughed.
"Well, are you going to eat? " I asked.
"I have plenty of time for that. I have the whole afternoon for myself since the teachers are in some kind of meeting. So do you want to stay here sit with me? " she stated.
I glanced her way and noticed how, despite her sightless eyes, they still managed to glimmer by the light of the sun and the reflection of her large glasses. I'm kind of lucky to have someone like her. She's like a one word wisdom, and even I don't know what that means.
"Sure, " I answered while taking a seat in one of the tree roots while she carefully bended to sit on the ground.
Finally, I remembered something. "Give me your hand, Red. " She seemed startled, but then gave me her hand.
"Oh, " she stated, feeling her wound on her left hand. The cut is swelling and it made blood drip, but it didn't satisfy me when they shed. If ever, her blood hurt my feelings all because I didn't catch her when she fell. "I didn't know I cut myself when they pushed me. "
I sighed, taking her orange scarf and wrapping it around her wound, "If this tree is a person I would've killed him for hurting your skin. "
She laughed, the giggle that left her youth reflected to her eyes, "Please don't, Mr tree has always been my company since I got here. "
"Don't worry, " I stated, "I may hate nature but I'll learn to respect them for you. "
When I said that, her face grew solemn, sadness is present in her features as she let her body go limp. "What's wrong? " I asked.
"Never mind, it doesn't matter. "
I narrowed my eyes at hers, "Yes it does. Something is suddenly troubling you and it's my duty to get rid of it. "
She sighed deeply, "It's stupid and please, Jeff. Just drop it. " Her voice was soft and quiet, and I couldn't help but to drop the issue. She's so fragile and it bothers me to know that she has problems. But does she always?
Damn it, I became a softie....
"Jeff, " she called. I hummed in response. "Why did you do it? "
"Do what? "
There was a long pause, and I could tell that she was uneasy. "Kill your family. "
Huh, why did I do it? I don't want to scare her and tell her I'm crazy. I might loose her as a friend. "I protected them, " I answered, deciding that I'll answer her question with the answer I said to myself years ago.
"How so? By killing them? "
"Yes. I protected them from myself. If I hadn't killed them, they would've suffered in my torture. It's better to leave them in a better place, eh? " I answered. Well I wasn't sure I was assuring her or myself, seeing it I'm still confused why I did that many years ago. "I protected them in terms of death. But you, " I took her injured hand in mine.
"I'll protect you by means of not letting anyone hurt you. Your my angel, my princess, and I won't let anything hurt you. "
"Thanks, Jeff, " she replied.
"Your welcome, princess. "
