"Josh!" Tyler yelled at the man who was staring at the birds in the sky "Josh, catch!"

"Wh-" the man was cut off by a frisbee smacking into his face

The blue-haired man fell on the soft sand and soon was attacked by a little fluff ball that immediately started licking his face. Josh squirmed and tried to push the furball off of him but the attacker kept jumping onto him. Josh was free only when Tyler ran up to him and helped him to stand up.

"Are you okay?" Tyler chuckled

"Yeah." Josh nodded rubbing his forehead

"Next time don't stare at the birds, fishy." Tyler joked and ruffled Josh's hair

Josh extended his arm out to touch Tyler's fluffy locks but the man slid out of Josh's grasp grinning. Josh squinted his eyes and reached for the man again. Tyler quickly dodged Josh and stuck out his tongue.

"So slow." Tyler mocked

"Stop it!" Josh dove forward hoping to finally catch the boy but the brunette jumped to the side making Josh faceplant into the sand

The ocean-haired man sprung up and started chasing Tyler. Jim ran after Josh barking and wagging his tail. The puppy didn't know what he was barking at but he felt the need to. He was a dog, that's what dogs did. Barked a lot and drooled on people.

Josh jumped over someone's sand castle but Jim who was zooming after him crashed into the sandcastle knocking it down. Josh let out a small laugh but didn't let the dog distract him from his main goal that was cathing Tyler. The man was getting tired but he wasn't giving up that easily. Sure, Tyler was faster than him because the boy lived on land longer but Josh had more stamina and no matter how fast Tyler was he got tired fast. Josh grinned to himself seeing that Tyler had slowed down a bit. They probably looked like idiots chasing after each other across the beach but they couldn't care less. They were having fun and no one could judge them for having fun.

"Tyler!" Josh growled, he was only five steps away from him

Just when Josh thought he caught up Tyler used his squirrel tactics and started running in zig-zags. Josh almost tripped over his own legs trying to match Tyler's pattern. Josh had a bigger build than Tyler and running in zig-zags was almost impossible since he didn't still sometimes forgot what how legs worked.

"Haha!" Tyler mocked "You're too slow!"

Josh huffed and panted, he gritted his teeth. It was stupid but he had to get Tyler back for ruffling his hair. Also, Josh didn't like being mocked even by Tyler. He stuck out the tip of his tongue out of his mouth as he ran through the sand. Finally, Josh got lucky when Tyler tripped over a sandcastle and the curly-headed man was able to catch the boy. They both cashed into the water, their limbs tangled with each others. Tyler started coughing from laughing too hard, he squinted his eyes trying to protect them from the salty water splashing into them.

Josh held Tyler tightly with his right arm while he tickled the boy with his left hand. Tyler squirmed like a worm, choking on his own laughter.

"Stop! Stop!" Tyler shrieked, mouth full of sand "I give up! I give up, please!"

Josh tortured Tyler for a few more seconds before letting him go. Tyler laid down on the sand and the waves crashed against his body. He panted heavily, his long wet hair stuck to his face. He decided not to cut it just to see what he would look like and Josh thought that he looked great even though the boy received some unpleasant comments about his appearance. Tyler didn't care because it was his hair and he could do whatever he liked with it. Josh loved Tyler's long hair and couldn't wait for it to get long enough so he could braid the brown locks.

Tyler crawled onto the dry sand where the water couldn't reach him a and laid down on his back. He smiled while looking at the sky. That weak side smirk had a mysterious undertone to it. Josh stared at Tyler with his dreamy mismatched eyes trying to guess what Tyler was thinking about. The boy must've felt Josh's intense stare.

"Yes?" Tyler chuckled

"Oh, um..." Josh turned his gaze away

"What?" Tyler sat up

"W-what were you thinking about?" Josh murmured toying with a wet clump of sand

"I was thinking how beautiful the sky was." Tyler brushed his untamed hair out of his eyes "I was thinking about how lucky I am to be able to see it. I think its one of the most beautiful things in the world."

"Oh..." Josh nodded, his cheeks slowly turned pink

He glanced at Tyler sideways and quickly his his eyes by turning away. The brunette scooted closer to him and sat next to Josh. The man kept looking away.

"Joshie?" Tyler whispered "Are you jealous of the sky?"

1"N-no." Josh scoffed "W-hy would I b-be jealous of the sky?"

"Because I said that it's beautiful." a grin stretched the corners of Tyler's mouth

"N-no, I'm not jealous of the sky, Tyler." Josh rolled his eyes, his cheeks even redder than before "W-who would be jealous of the sky?"

Tyler chuckled and pecked Josh's wet cheek. He just shrugged and turned his face away again. Tyler softly grabbed the man's hand and kissed his knuckles. That made Josh turn around immediately.

"I said it's one of the most beautiful things in the world." Tyler smiled sweetly "Do you wanna know what i like looking at the most?"

"I mean I guess..." Josh shrugged his shoulders

Tyler let out a small laugh and kissed Josh's knuckles again.

"You, silly." Tyler bit his rosy lip "You're the most beautiful creature to ever walk this earth."

"N-no I'm not." Josh lowered his eyes

"To me you are perfect, Josh." Tyler leaned in closer "I would be fine if I couldn't look at the sky as long as you're by my side. Because you're my sky, Josh. "

"Is t-that a more c-complicated way to say I love y-you?" Josh stuttered

"Yes." Tyler chuckled "I love you more than I love myself, pearl. And I will always put you first no matter what."

"I love you too, Ty." Josh smiled, tears clouding his pretty eyes

Josh leaned in so that their lips could meet for a kiss. It wasn't very long but it was enough to show how much they loved each other.

The kiss was interrupted by Jim who also wanted kisses. Josh giggled and pecked the puppy's little forehead.

"Tyler, I need you to do something." Josh spoke after a few minutes of complete silence

"What, love?"

Josh sighed and reached for the necklace on Tyler's neck. The boy looked at Josh confused. Josh got up bringing Tyler with him. The boy recognized the place they were in. It was the same place where he first had a normal interaction with Josh. The man knelt on the ground signalling Tyler to do the same.

"What is it?" Tyler asked

Josh placed the necklace on a flat rock and looked at Tyler.

"I want you to smash it." Josh pointed at the blue shell

"What?" Tyler's eyes widened "Why?"

"In case the ocean calls." Josh let out a deep breath "Tyler, I don't wanna go back. "

"Are you sure?" Tyler questioned "Do you really want me to destroy it?"

"I do." Josh nodded confidently "I want you to smash it into tiny pieces."

"If you say so." Tyler shrugged and grabbed a bigger rock

The boy stared at the necklace remembering in how much trouble they got because of it. It was time to get of it but the boy felt slightly attached to it. Finally, the brunette took a deep breath and the necklace shattered into tiny pieces after one swing. Tyler smashed it a few more times just to be sure.

When Tyler threw the rock away there was only dust remaining. The black string reminded them that it once was attached to a shiny shell. Josh grabbed the string and threw it into the ocean.

"What now?" Tyler stood up and dusted off his knees

"Now?" Josh chuckled "Now, I hope you'll kiss me."

Tyler grabbed Josh's face and smashed his lips against the man's hungrily, without a hesitation. Their lips moved perfectly against each other and fit like two puzzle pieces.

There was nothing in the whole world that could replace the love between the two because their love was something special.
