I rolled my eyes at my mate and scowled, and my cheeks turned red while I blushed. "You aren't in my debt, Daniel," I said, my voice barely above a whisper while I shook my head. "I do not know why you would say such a thing."

"Because I want to," he said and pressed a small kiss to my lips, and I bit back a small smile while I kissed him back. He pulled away and pressed a small kiss to my forehead before he pulled away. "Now, come on, let's go ahead and go see what Roger has to say."

I nodded and bit the inside of my lip, hesitating ever so slightly. I didn't say a word and grabbed one of my mate's hands, and he instantly squeezed my hand reassuringly before he started to lead me to the front door.

My heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in my chest. I was anxious and nervous, worried that Roger would be annoyed that I was there while he had these conversations with my mate that I wasn't supposed to be a part of.

But I was the Luna...

I had the right to know what was going on with my pack and no one could tell me any differently, not even the man we were about to see...

I took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh when that thought crossed my mind, and my mate looked at me curiously.

"Are you ok?" he asked and let go of my hand before he placed his arm around my waist. "What was that noise for, Katie?" He raised an eyebrow in question while he studied me, biting back a small frown.

I licked my lips and hesitated, deciding that it would be for the best that I talked the way that I normally would and not out loud. 'It wasn't for anything bad,' I said and shook my head. 'I am ok.'

My mate furrowed his brows and slowly nodded, but I could see the look on his face that he didn't believe me. When we reached the front door, he stopped, and I stopped with him while he opened it, gesturing for me to enter the house.

I rolled my eyes and scowled playfully before I stepped into the house and started to make my way up to his office, growing stubborn.

"Katie?" Daniel asked with a shocked laugh as if he was surprised that I didn't wait for him like I normally would. He closed the door behind him before he started to run after me. "Wait, Kaite, where are you going?"

I paused and turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow in question. 'Where do you think?' I asked and cocked my head to the side while I studied him, and my mate stopped in front of me. 'You aren't keeping me out of the office. I am the Luna of this pack, and I'll be damned if someone keeps me out of it while you two discuss important business that affects it.'

My mate blinked and blinked a second time, and a look of confusion appeared on his face. He cocked his head to the side while he studied me, and the confusion slowly turned to looking stunned.

The prideful confidence that I was feeling quickly stopped while he continued to look at me with this look on his face that I didn't understand, and I bit the inside of my lip while my cheeks turned red. 'I-I mean, I-'

Daniel rushed over to me and grabbed my hands before I could backtrack on what I was going to, and I stopped and stared at him with wide eyes, filled with shock and fear. He slammed his lips against mine in a heated kiss, and I couldn't help but kiss him back with just as much passion as he was giving me.

Oh, help me, Goddess...

Finally, my mate pulled away from me and pressed a kiss to my forehead, and I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth that he was giving me. "Do not second guess yourself, Katie," he said, his voice barely above a whisper while he pressed another kiss to my forehead. "What you said is correct. You are the Luna of the pack, and you have every right to be there."

But then why did you look so confused..?

I slowly blinked and pressed my lips into a thin line while I stared at my mate, letting him see the confusion on my face and silently praying that he would know what I was confused about without me having to say a word.

I didn't think he was going to be letting go of my hands so soon...

Daniel bit back a small chuckle and tucked his head closer to his chest, and an amused smile appeared on his face. "I didn't expect you to say it so quickly, Katie," he said and shook his head. "You were so confident with it, and I couldn't help but become shocked."

Why..?

My mate smiled sadly and pressed another kiss to my forehead, and I closed my eyes before I opened my eyes and looked at him. "I don't think you would be comfortable doing that, and I am proud that you were able to do it, even though I am sure the look on my face made you lose the confidence that you were feeling. If so, then I am sorry and hope that you can forgive me. There was nothing bad with the look on my face."

He stared at me with sincere eyes, silently praying that I would forgive him and continue to do what I was starting to do. "You are my Luna and will always be my luna. You have a voice in my, well our pack, and I don't want you to ever let anyone silence it, me included ok?"

I hesitated and bit the inside of my lip before I slowly nodded, and relief flashed through my mate's eyes. I didn't say a word while I stared at him, silently praying that what he said was true and not something that he wanted to say to get me to relax.

My mate bit back a small smile and pressed a small kiss to my forehead. "I mean what I said, Katie," he said, his voice barely above a whisper while he pressed another kiss to my forehead. "Now, come on, let's go ahead and see everything that Roger has to say."

And with that, and without letting me say a word, he started to walk to the office with me by his side.
