Chapter 45- Katie's POV

I breathed a small sigh of relief and slowly nodded. I didn't say a word and shifted in my seat before I cleared my throat and licked my lips, not knowing what to say.

My heart grew warm when she said that, and I couldn't help but feel very grateful to have a friend like her that will help me with whatever I needed, especially since I had no idea what was going to happen in the future and knew that I was going to need her help.

She was someone that I had been able to trust all of those years ago when we first met by accident and became a small family of two...

Sarah kept her head bowed and waited for me to say something or do something, even though I had no idea what I was supposed to do or say.

So instead, I looked at my mate with wide eyes, silently praying that he knew what I needed to do now and hoped he would be able to help me.

"You can lift your head and stop bowing to her, Sarah," Daniel said with the same relief in his tone that I was feeling. He squeezed my side reassuringly before he cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. "Thank you. We do appreciate it, Sarah."

Sarah hesitated before she did what she was told to do and lifted her head until she was looking at us with wide eyes. She didn't say a word and bit the inside of her lip while she waited for one of us to break the silence or do something else.

I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "Do you think you would have ever told me that you were a Werewolf?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper while I cocked my head and studied her when that thought crossed my mind. "Or do you think you would have kept it hidden?"

Sarah shrugged and grimaced, biting back a small sheepish smile. She looked down, and her cheeks turned red. "I would have kept it hidden, Katie," she admitted before she cleared her throat and shifted in her seat and looked at me. "I mean, we are supposed to keep ourselves hidden from non supernatural creatures, and I didn't know that you were one."

I hesitated before I slowly nodded and bit the inside of my lip, furrowing my brows when I thought about something else. "So are there other supernatural creatures other than Hunters and Werewolves?" I asked while I cocked my head and studied her.

Sarah and Daniel looked at each other before they looked at me with blank expressions on their faces. They did not say a word while they looked at me, and I couldn't help but press my lips into a thin line while I narrowed my eyes, annoyed.

"Well?" I asked with a small scowl on my face. "Are there?"

Daniel sighed and slowly nodded. "Yes," he said and moved a hand through his hair. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat, moving me closer to him. "There are a few other supernatural creatures besides Werewolves and Hunters."

"Like?" I asked and cocked my head while I studied them before I fully looked at my mate. "What else is out there?"

"Well, there are Witches, Vampires, Shifters, and I think this dragon shifter type of thing," Daniel said with furrowed brows while he cocked his head closer to his chest. "Mom knows what they are called because she had learned it from Bethany Ann."

I cocked my head and frowned, furrowing my brows, confused. "Who is Bethany Ann?" I asked, not jealous but curious because he never talked about anyone else besides the people of this community, er pack.

"She is the Luna of one of the packs that we are allies with," he said. He cleared his throat and shifted some more in his seat. "Her mate's name is Damion Greene, and he is the Alpha of the Greenspeak Pack."

I slowly nodded and pressed my lips into a thin line, not saying a word. I was curious if there were other packs that we were allies with and if I would be able to meet them too.

Daniel bit back a small chuckle and slowly nodded as if he knew what I was thinking but didn't know how to ask. "There are a few packs that we are allies with," he said, "and you will be able to meet them later."

He cleared his throat and pulled me closer to him. "I think that you will be meeting Uncle Dean soon. He is the Alpha of the Lightning Bolt Pack in Georgia, and he is Mom's older brother."

I frowned and furrowed my brows, confused because I knew about Nikolai but not about anyone else. "But I thought her brother's name was Nikolai and that he was younger than her."

"That's her blood brother," Daniel said. "She has another brother that is named Dean, who is a full blooded Werewolf. She lived down there years ago before she moved to Kansas to attend college and then start her life here after she had graduated."

"Why?"

My... mate shrugged and grimaced. "That's a Mom question," he said. He sighed and moved a hand through his hair before he shook his head and pursed his lips in annoyance. "I think a part of her knew that she was supposed to be near here so that was why when she had the chance, she decided to move back here."

I blinked and blinked again but stayed silent while I waited for him to say something else.

"Again, I think that is going to have to be a Mom thing and not a me thing to talk about," he said while he shook his head again. "I don't want to get anything skewed or say something that I am not supposed to be saying or anything like that, so I do think it is for the best that you ask her."

I pressed my lips into a thin line before I slowly nodded, furrowing my brows. "When can I know?" I asked while I cocked my head and stared at them. "I know that Aunt Jess said that she wanted to have a meeting with us soon, but when is that going to happen?"

"Is there anything that you want to know about me first?" Sarah asked. She looked at my mate before she looked at me, looking very nervous and worried. "I mean, I am able to answer all of your questions now, and I do not have to hide anything because you know about Werewolves and Hunters and the like."

"Or you at least know something," Daniel clarified, and my best friend nodded in agreement while I looked between the two of them. "There is a lot of stuff that you are going to need to learn now that you know about the community and everything like that."

I furrowed my brows further and slowly nodded while I looked between the two of them. "And nothing will have to be hidden from me?" I asked, earning a small chuckle from both of them while they shook their heads no.

"Nothing will be hidden from you now that you know about us," Sarah said while she bowed her head again in respect and submission. "You have my word, Luna. I promise."
