Blurb Judge: Okay, I can already tell lots of heartbreak and emotions are going to be in this, but there's nothing really that makes me want to jump in the book. I can't sense plot, and that's what's holding me- and potential readers- back from clicking it.
Cover Judge: I can't really argue with the picture, because it fits (maybe a tear halfway down her cheek for good measure?) but what bothers me as a design enthusiast is the tiny, tiny, white writing.
I know it says "Wattpad original" and your username, but it bothers me because if you scroll through covers and then you see this unreadable fuzzy writing, it just looks...off. Maybe this is supposed to be clickbait? People have to click on the book to be able to read the writing? xD
Side note: Oh wow, you have an honest book review thing going on too xD
-------
Already from the start it seems like a heavy, thought filled book with reflections of what went wrong and things to do with heartbreak and how she moves on. I personally don't enjoy these types of stories, as I don't see where it's all going, where's the plot?
Very slow-paced and, to me, boring. I just am not the type to read this kind of stuff. I like action, a goal, an adventure that leads to somewhere. So I must be honest and say I skimmed through most of it. It was like finding my way through a suffocating, thick fog that was piling up all around me.
However, one thing I appreciate is the writing itself. Take away the plot, it flows smoothly and nicely. The descriptions of the house, why orange is the best color, even when she was repeatedly crying in bed I was making a disgusted face imagining the condition of her pillow.
Summary: This would not belong in my "exciting, memorable books" library, but I'm putting it all aside and appreciating your writing. Do you explore any other genres?
