| Sleep and Die

Oh, I remember skimming through this book one day because I was home alone and decided to see if I would get scared.

Cover Judge: I don't wanna look at that...

Hhhhhr, it's not so great. Author name is very small, and there's a subtitle that is lurking at the top which serves as decoration because I can't read it.

Blurb Judge: typical thriller with pointless games and deaths.

HAHAHAH no I'm not watching the trailer, thank you very much.

Teens don't sleep? I've heard a lot of stereotypes, but this one is new. Usually it's either teens never sleep or teens always sleep. I sleep enough.

Oh what's the point of this? If we're going to follow a bunch of stupid kids who play it and get killed (I'm not even getting started on how impossible it is to hire an assassin in every corner of the world so you can tell them to kill a certain person who was playing the game)

Thriller is hard to write correctly (t-h-r-i-l-l-e-r) Making a bunch of people die isn't very suspenseful.

There are commas in the wrong places.

I have to take another jab at the villain logic. Since teens are attached to their phones, the solution is to kill them all. That sounds about right. Young kids, in turn, will become teenagers, and will also be killed. So the adult population keeps aging, and there is no future. Humanity will die off in a matter of decades.

Some solution.

Summary: Logic aside, the pacing and feel of the story is nonchalant and not as thrilling as it should be. Characters are killed off randomly and it doesn't make me feel sorry for them. With thriller genre, you build up a plot and kill the character that everyone loves so readers suffer. So the readers feel thrills up their spine.
