| Peregrination
Cover Judge: The background is okay. But that weird flame ruins everything. I would put silhouettes of the kids, like they're actually lost in the woods.
You can play with the title/subtitle position a bit more, maybe place the title in the center and "a struggle to survive" on the top.
Blurb Judge: Okay I guess. But I don't understand why the title is "Peregrination"
-------
You put lots of specifications for the characters...but honestly, when I started reading the first chapter it was all a bunch of names. You make readers know your characters by their personality and actions, not race or religion. Anyway, moving on.
Dialogue seems kind of off, I don't know exactly why. Maybe some commas could help the flow here and there. Minor mistakes like they're instead of their.
For some reason, I don't like Faith very much. I think she's supposed to be like the moral leader of the group or something, but it doesn't feel natural. And you can't simply not cry when your friend dies!
Short descriptions, but that's perfectly okay.
Thing to Point Out: I know writers never understand this, but it is actually really hard to rip jackets. Not to mention Amar "cut the edge in half and made a straight rectangle". He has knives for hands? If he did pull out a Swiss Army Knife, mention it.
Woah woah. *SPOILERS*
You just killed a character in the sixth chapter. Now I want a really good explanation about how they're surviving without food and why one would shoot a teenager. By the way, it's really hard to shoot properly. Logan was hit in the chest, a pretty good shot. That wasn't an accident for sure. And if it wasn't, who would shoot a kid?!
I know you want to show how people survive better together or something, but if you get lost in the woods, there's really not much overly dramatic that will happen.
The gunshot is one, the sudden tornado is two, four GIANT trees RIGHT IN THEIR PATH, scaling an actual MOUNTAIN just to see where they are...you know, the smart decision would be to just follow the road to Masino.
Roads lead to places. That's their purpose. End of story. You don't need to go climb a mountain. And you PHYSICALLY CANNOT CLIMB A MOUNTAIN IN LESS THAN AN HOUR!
Summary: Unnecessary and unlikely drama
