The next day they woke up early. Hiccup grabbed an axe. "What?" He looked at his dragon. "It's useful. We might find thicker or stronger wood that I could use." He said and Toothless rolled his eyes. He then grabbed 3 fish incase they run into any dragons. They climbed out of the tree and left to go to the other side. When they got there they saw a group of Terrible Terror sleeping on the ground. Toothless growled but Hiccup calmed him down. He placed his axe on the floor which woke up the Terrible Terrors. They looked over and saw Hiccup. He put his hand out. He held a fish. They slowly crawled over and they shared it. They then came up to him and purred against him. Toothless walked out of hiding which did scare them slightly but they calmed down. "He's my friend." They then heard a loud roar and the small dragons flew away. Hiccup stood up and Toothless growled. Suddenly out came a Monstrous Nightmare. It roared at Hiccup and shot a blast of fire. He jumped out of the way as did Toothless. "It's okay." Hiccup said as he tried to calm it down but it ignored him and tried to bite his out stretched hand off. He quickly pulled back and ran off with the dragon following. Toothless raced after his rider. Hiccup dodged fire as the dragon set trees on fire. "Oh god!" He said as the fire began to turn to a forest fire. Suddenly the Terrible Terrors, but a lot more, came holding buckets of water, not wanting their home to be burned up. They tipped it over the trees. It surprised Hiccup but he kept running. He slid down a small hill with the dragon hot on his tail.

"Toothless!" He called. But although he could fly fast he's not the fastest runner, it would be easier if he could fly. 'I've gotta make him a tail so he doesn't need me to fly.' Hiccup thought as he scarcely dodged a blast of fire and hid behind a rock. He peered round but it wasn't there. He looked back round and saw the dragon. "Oh great." He said sarcastically. He was about to be blasted with fire when Toothless tackled the dragon, making the fire shoot into the sky. They had a cat fight but the Nightmare wasn't going to give up any time soon. Hiccup ran to the 'house' and grabbed something. But just before he was about to leave, the trees around him were set ablaze. Without water he couldn't put it out. He then saw the Terrible Terrors with more water. "Thanks!" Hiccup yelled to them and they nodded. They poured as much water as they could which put the fire out. But all of their supplies were either burned or destroyed. "Great." Hiccup sad to himself. He climbed out from the tree and saw the dragon staring at him. It was about to attack again until Hiccup pulled out what he took. It was a knife. He wanted to prove he wasn't going to hurt him. The dragon growled. "I'm not trying to hurt or threaten you." He said. He then turned around and threw the knife far away but he remembered where so he could get it later. He turned back around and saw the dragon had calmed down slightly. It wasn't on fire or spitting it either so that was something. But it was still growling. Hiccup put his hand out. The dragon growled. Hiccup slightly retracted. He then did his special move he used on Toothless. He put his hand out again, flat, and looked away. The dragon saw the hand and calmed down. He hesitated but he pressed his nose to his hand. Hiccup looked up. The dragon looked down slightly in guilt. "It's okay. You were defending yourself. Do you have a name?" The dragon shook his head. "What about Hookfang?" The dragon thought for a moment before nodding. "Great. Well it's nice to meet you Hookfang. I'm Hiccup and that's Toothless." He said pointing to the Night Fury. The Night Fury was still mad but since the dragon wasn't attacking he calmed down. They had a small growling conversation. 'I wish I could understand...' Hiccup thought. He then remembered the supplies were all destroyed. "Hey uh bud... hehe.." he said. The dragons looked at him. But Toothless gave him a'what did you do' look.
