Chapter 7
3rd Person P.O.V
Max, Allison, Dani and Thackery soon arrived at the town hall, only to see that it was absolutely packed with people attending the party.
"Oh great. How're we ever gonna find Mom and Dan in this place?" Max questioned. The group managed to slip past the person at the door and headed up to the party.
"I'm gonna look for Mom." Dani said, before walking off with Thackery in order to try and find her mother. A hand grabbed Max's shoulder from behind, which made him jump. He turned around, but was relieved to see that it was only his father, dressed as a vampire.
"Oh, Dad." Max said in relief.
"It's not Dad, it's Dadcula. Oh my goodness, who must this charming young blood donor be?" Mr Dennison asked, taking Allison's hand and kissing the back of it.
"Dad! Something terrible's happened!" Max said, causing his father to turn serious.
"Dani? What's wrong?" Mr Dennison asked.
"No, Dani's fine." Max said quickly.
"Good. Excuse me. Come here." Mr Dennison said, pulling Max off to the side. In the meantime, Dani was looking for her mother, and luckily managed to find her within a few minutes.
"Mom? What are you supposed to be?" Dani asked.
"Madonna. Well, you know. Well, obviously. Don't you think?" Mrs Dennison asked.
"Come here. This cat here, Binx, right? He can talk. My brother's a virgin, he lit the Black Flame Candle. The witches are back from the dead and they're after us. We need help." Dani told her.
"How much candy have you had, honey?" Mrs Dennison asked, much to Dani's annoyance.
"Mom, I haven't O.D'd. I haven't even had a piece. They're real witches, they're gonna fly, and they're gonna eat all the kids in Salem. They're real!" Dani said.
"All right, let's just find your father." Mrs Dennison said, looking around. Within a couple of minutes, the Dennison family and Allison were all stood together, although the kids were not having much luck trying to convince the Dennison parents about what had happened. Then, Dani spotted the witches.
"Max!! Max! They're here! They're here!" Dani shouted so that her brother would hear her over the music. Max and Allison looked over to see Winifred and Mary, though they knew Sarah wouldn't be too far away from her sisters.
"Nobody's here, sweetie." Mrs Dennison said.
"Here. Hold this." Max said, handing the spell book to Allison before heading towards the stage. He got up on stage and managed to get the mic off the singer.
"Hey man, cut the music. Cut the music! It's an emergency, only for a minute. Will everybody listen up please? 300 years ago the Sanderson sisters bewitched people, and now they've returned from their graves. I'm serious! It's not a joke! I know this sounds dumb. But they're here tonight. They're right over there!" Mac said, pointing into the crowd and causing a spotlight to land on the sisters, which made the crowd draw back a bit.
"Thank you, Max, for that marvellous introduction." Winifred said, making the crowd relax and laugh a bit. Then, Winifred started singing, but the kids quickly figured out that she was about to cast a spell.
"No! No! Don't listen to them!" Dani exclaimed, covering her ears. But it was no use. All the adults were enraptured by the singing, leaving Max, Dani and Allison to huddle together.
"Binx, where are you?" Dani called. Thackery ran over to join the kids, but they had to quickly dodge Billy, who had just shown up. The group ran back to the Dennison parents.
"Mom, Dad, thank god." Max said.
"Hey, Max, great show." Mr Dennison said.
"Cover your ears!" Max and Dani spoke in unison, but to no avail. The kids then had to run for it when Billy appeared again. Fortunately for them, they managed to escape the room just before the sisters cast their spell that would cause all the partygoers to be forced to dance until they died.

After escaping the party, Max, Allison, Dani and Thackery came to a halt in an alleyway. Once they were there, Max kicked a nearby trash can in his frustration.
"This is really bad!" Max exclaimed.
"Max, come on! Calm down." Allison said to him.
"Look, I want you to take Dani back to your house and don't let her out of your sight!" Max told her.
"Max, I'm not leaving you." Dani said stubbornly. The trio had to quickly duck for cover when the back door to the restaurant opened and a cook came out and went over to a tank of lobsters
"Okay guys, who's going for the jacuzzi. Yeah, Angelo, you're bad." The cook said, picking one of the lobsters out of the tank before going back inside the restaurant, allowing the kids to stand back up.
"Uh oh!" Thackery said, seeing the Sanderson sisters approaching.
"Get down!" Max said, and all four quickly ducked back out of sight as the sisters entered the alley.
"I smell... Winnie, I smell... I smell...scrud. Scrud. You know, it's a bottom dweller. You cook it sometimes with a little bit of bread crumbs, little bit of margarine, or oil, olive oil's...." Mary was cut off by Winifred dragging her out of the alley. Sarah stayed behind, still looking around, but quickly followed after her sisters when she heard Winifred call her name. The kids came out from their hiding spots, although Allison accidentally opened and old oven door with a loud crash, making the kids wince. Luckily, the Sanderson sisters did not return to investigate the noise. Allison glanced at the open oven door, but then gave the others a smile.
"I have an idea." Allison told them. The group then headed towards Jacob Bailey High School, and were thankfully able to get inside. Max waited in the principal's office, and when Thackery alerted him to the sisters entering the building, let out a loud howl into the microphone that was connected to the school's speaker system.
"Welcome to High School Hell. I'm your host Boris Karloff, Jr." Max said, before letting out an evil laugh. In the hallway, the sisters could hear him talking over the PA system.
"It's time to meet our 3 contestants. Sarah, Mary, and Winifred Sanderson. Read any good spell books lately?" Max asked. The sisters spotted Thackery sitting in the middle of the hallway, and started to go after him when they heard a woman's voice talking. Rather than continuing after Thackery, the sisters instead followed the direction the voice was coming from, pausing just outside a large kiln that art students used for their clay-modelling projects. They rushed in, not realising that the voice was coming from a CD player. Nor did they realise they had walked straight into a trap until the door to the kiln was slammed shut by Allison and Dani. Allison then pressed the button to turn the kiln on. The sisters were briefly illuminated in the window of the door, but the flames quickly rose higher and obscured the view. The kids then ran out of the school, celebrating their victory over the witches as green smoke rose out of the chimney. The group eventually ended up in the nearby park.
"Farewell Winifred Sanderson! Burn! Burn! We did it Binx, we stopped them." Max said, looking up at Thackery, who was perched on a tree branch above him
"I've wanted to do that for 300 years. Since they took Emily." Thackery said.
"You really miss her, don't you? Man, you can't keep blaming yourself for that. That happened so long ago." Max said.
"Take good care of Dani, Max. You'll never know how precious she is, until you lose her." Thackery said, before jumping down from the branch and making to leave.
"Hey Binx, where do you think you're going? You're a Dennison now, buddy. One of us." Max said.
"Come on Binx, let's go home." Dani called from where she was standing with Allison.
"Home!" Thackery repeated wistfully.
"Home." Max confirmed. Fortunately, it was only a short walk back to the Dennison household. But when they got there, they discovered that Max and Dani's parents weren't back yet.
"I guess they're still partying. Come on in." Max said to Allison. The four headed up to Max's room. Dani lay on the bed, while Max and Allison sat on the steps that led up to the second floor of Max's room.
"You're my kitty now. You'll have milk and tuna fish every day, and you'll only hunt mice for fun." Dani said.
"You're gonna turn me into one of those fat, useless, contented house cats." Thackery said, acting like he was appalled by the very idea.
"You betcha! You know Binx, I'll always take care of you. And my children will take care of you too. And their children after than, and theirs' after that. Forever and ever, and ever..." Dani fell asleep before she could finish, with Thackery dozing off beside her. Max and Allison fell asleep shortly after. After all, now that the witches were gone, they had nothing to worry about anymore. Or so they thought.
