A What Bus?
I looked from the girl to B.R.I.A.N. but I have literally never seen this girl in my life, so how would he know her.
She was very thin, had a lip piercing and light brown hair up in a ponytail. She had the same uniform as everyone else and nothing too special stood out. Her confused, brown eyes just looked at us while B.R.I.A.N. continuously went "Uhh..."
The guys were snickering behind me like they knew something I didn't.
"Table for 15 please." Brock finally said and B.R.I.A.N. finally stopped.
He looked dazed and had the stupidest smile on his face.
She nodded and lead us to our table. We ordered our drinks while she handed us the menu and soon walked off. I turned to B.R.I.A.N.
"What happened back there?" I whispered, "Did you malfunction?"
He shook his head, but didn't say anything. He was looking at the table with a grin and just fiddled with the silverware in front of him.
"Y/N," Tyler said, "he thought the waitress was cute."
"Very cute." B.R.I.A.N. added, making the table laugh.
"That's adorable!" Brock cooed.
B.R.I.A.N.'s face got all red and he started to let off a lot of heat.
"Hey, Lover-Boy," Lui said to him, "You're over heating."
He felt his face and gabbed a menu and started fanning himself. I looked around the tiny dinner but didn't see anything too important. I looked at the girl B.R.I.A.N. went gaga over and spotted a name tag I didn't notice before.
"Her names Lania." I said to him.
"And she's coming this way." Tyler added.
She came over and everyone but B.R.I.A.N. ordered because he's a robot and he doesn't need food, but he did get a water. Plus he couldn't talk to this girl because he thought she was so cute.
She walked away and I looked at the table. We all talked for a bit and suddenly, Bryce's phone rings.
He walks away and answers it. We continue to talk until he got back. He had a worried look on his face and said, "I can't help you guys get the girls and kids."
"What?"
"Why not?"
"What's wrong?"
We all bombarded him with questions and he just put his hand up to make us shut up. We did and he said, "My mom and brother got in a really bad accident back in Georgia, so I'm going to go there and...see what I can do."
He sounded croaky and dead. I felt really bad. He explained that he was just going to leave now, take a taxi to the airport, fly to Georgia, and go from there. We nodded, said out goodbyes and just like that, he left.
I watched as he walked down the road, trying to get as far away from the restaurant as possible so it wouldn't be awkward. I sighed. I really didn't want to see him go, but we left for our families, he can leave for his.
I just hope the little blonde bean will be okay.
I looked at Ryan and we looked worried. I don't blame him. Nearly everyone else here is a fucking dick to him and the only reason they haven't killed him yet just left. Plus, his best friend is now gone and we don't even know if he'll be okay.
Our meal was quiet and uncomfortable after that. It's been five minutes and I already miss Bryce's spirit of not wanting anything to be quiet.
Well, we have David, but he's incredibly annoying.
~
We finished, payed, and left. We all started heading to the bus and Tyler said, "What are you guys doing?"
We all turned to him and David asked, "What?"
"We can't used that bus anymore." He said, "Police will be looking for it now."
"Pretty sure they've been looking for it this whole time." Marcel commented.
Tyler raised an eyebrow, "Do you wanna go to jail and probably never see or even hear from Simone ever again?"
Marcel growled and walked to Tyler. "Make another fucking comment like that and you won't see Ava again." Marcel dared.
"Ex-fucking-cuse me?" Tyler said.
"We're not fucking doing this." I said.
"This is not the time." Craig said at the same time.
They looked at us. "You're making it sound like we fight all the time." Marcel said.
"I got hit in the face with a frying pan because of you two." I said.
"I nearly lost my hand in a blender." Craig added.
"You both almost pushed me off the side of a 16 story building because you were fighting over who's spit hit the bottom first." B.R.I.A.N. said.
"Okay but that was years ago." Tyler said.
"And yet your still fucking fighting." The three of us said at the same time.
Tyler and Marcel scoffed at us.
"They act like kids." Craig said.
I raised and eyebrow and looked at him. "You and B.R.I.A.N. act like kids too most the time."
"Do not!" They yelled at me.
"Yeah you do." I said.
"Y/n's had to go to your guy's house how many time to stop an argument?" Tyler said.
"Not many!" Craig said.
"Forty-eight times." B.R.I.A.N. said, not realizing that he wasn't supposed to calculate how many I've been there to stop a fight.
"You know how many times I should go over there and stop a fight?" I asked, not getting a response. I still held up a zero with my hand.
They groaned in annoyance and turned away.
I looked at the rest of the group and they all looked really confused. I decided not to say anything and turned to my partners.
"Where are we supposed to find a bus?" I asked.
"Public transportation." Tyler simply said.
I nodded and looked around, not really seeing signs for bus stops.
"Lets ask the waitress in there if she knows where the closest bus stop is." Evan said as he walked back into the restaurant. B.R.I.A.N. quickly followed behind him.
"Oooh..." Lui said, "I think our little robot has a crush."
"Oooh!" Everyone cooed.
I yawned and started looking around. There weren't that many people even though it wasn't dark and they all seemed to continuously look over their shoulders and check their pockets.
I raised an eyebrow and looked at who was the closest to me. I pulled Broke to my side and motioned to the few people that were out. "Are they all acting strange to you?"
He looked around and shrugged. "I guess. I mean, the whole town could just act like that."
"But it looks like someone's after all of them." I said, "Look how they keep looking over their shoulders."
"I don't know Y/n." Brock groaned and walked away.
Brock's been really moody this entire trip and it's starting to piss me off. I'm not ducking happy either, but at least I'm keeping to together.
I sighed and looked at the small amount of people outside today. There was about six teens walking together, holding hands, looking terrified. I raised an eyebrow. Not only was that something that I've never seen before, but they were all boys. I'm not an expert on teenage behaviors, but that was weird. They had tear stains and damp spots on their clothes. Two had football jerseys, one wore dark blue, one wore read, and the last three had on scholastic bowl jackets on.
I turned and saw an old man shuffling his way down the sidewalk. He looked so scared and worried. He was shaking so bad. He had sweat dripping off him like rain of a window.
"Okay." Evan said as he walked out the door, "She said if we walk down the street and make a right. That's the closest bus stop."
"I got her number!" B.R.I.A.N. said as he walked out.
I laughed as I looked at him. Evan started walking and we all followed. After about a block, I looked around once more to not see anyone. I knotted my eyebrows.
"What is up with this town?" I whispered to myself.
After about ten more minutes of us being the only people that seemed to be alive, we turned the corner and saw a bus stop with the door wide open and no one present in or around it. It was a white bus and in pretty good condition.
"That was easy." Brock said as he started walking to it. Ryan grabbed him a pulled him back.
"Too easy." He commented before letting him go. He looked around real fast and grabbed a nearby rock, "Everyone back up."
We all did as he said right before he chucked the rock into the bus. After a sold five seconds of hearing the rock jump around inside the bus, I was blinded by a bright light and nearly went deaf over the ear splitting sound of metal parts being forced apart along with glass shattering.
The force got to us about a second later and we all fell back. I covered my face with my arms and tried the cover my stomach and everything in between with my legs. I felt extra weight cover me and made the mistake of opening my eyes. Before the burn of the smoke took over my vision, I knew it was Tyler.
I quickly closed my eyes again and grabbed onto him. Please don't get hurt...please...
After what felt like forever, coughs and muffled voices kept asking, "Is everyone okay?"
It was Evan.
"Evan!" I yelled, tearing up my throat from breathing if the smoke. I coughed loudly and put my shirt over my mouth. I did the same for Tyler too.
I kissed his lips with the cloth over both of our mouths right before I sat up. He did the same a we looked around. Everyone was coughing and getting up, but no one seemed too hurt.
"Where's-" Anthony coughed for a long time then took a deep breath and finished his sentience, "Where's Ryan?"
As he coughed, I looked in the direction I last saw him. He was still on the ground and had his hands over his head and knees to his chest.
"Ryan!" Evan yelled before gagging at the smell of burning metal and gas, "Ryan! Are you okay?"
He didn't move. Dust and ashes blew over him and blew his clothes and hair the same way.
"Ryan!" Luke screamed at him and ran to him. He started shaking him. "Ryan," he coughed, "get up man."
Ryan finally coughed and sneezed a few times. "I'm-" he coughed, "I'm fine. I'm fine."
Luke let out a sigh of relief as Ryan sat up and cover his mouth with his shirt. We all stood up and I said, "Ryan, you saved our lives."
He started rubbing his starched up shoulder and said, "Yeah well...that's pretty much what I'm here for."
"Why did it explode?" Tyler asked.
"Someone's most likely waiting for us." Ryan said, "The people of the town must've been warned; Nome of them are outside."
I glanced at Brock and he glared at me. I looked back at Ryan and stated, "I refuse to change the plan. We're just going to have to deal with it."
"Well our only transportation is gone." Craig argued, "What are we supposed to do?"
"Banana bus!" Jon yelled and pointed.
We all looked and pulling into town was a yellow and green bus. I knotted my eyebrows.
"Why would we get on that?" Tyler asked.
"It's a bus, ain't it." He said as he ran to it.
We all glanced at each other before shrugging and running after him. When we reached the bus, it was completely empty besides the driver. Jon climbed on and B.R.I.A.N. followed.
"Ya'll need a lift?" The driver asked.
"Actually, I'll take it from here." B.R.I.A.N. said and escorted the guy off. He was so confused but didn't ask questions due to how intimidating B.R.I.A.N. was.
I was the last to get on, but we I did, I got right back off again. I ran to the front of the bus and threw up. The acid releasing itself from my stomach burned my throat as it went through my body.
I made sure I was cleaned off before heading back onto the bus. Everyone asked if I was okay and I nodded and sat next to my husband.
This is going to be a long trip.
