Why Am I Here?
"Ryan, I seriously can't remember anything." I said.
"Why are you calling me Ryan?" He cried.
"That's what you told me to call you. You said we've known each other since high school and we were friends ever since." I tried to help him remember.
"That's not my name, Y/n!" He screamed.
"Ryan." I whispered.
"Who the fuck is Ryan?" The more I said his name the more angrier he got. "I'm Marcel! Try and remember!"
I shook my head, that was Ryan. He even had the scar behind his ear.
"Y/n." I turned to the Irish accent, "you have to remember me."
"David." I said.
He shook his head, "Brian. Say it. Brian!"
I backed up, "You're David."
It was David, there was no denying it.
"Brian!" He began to scream, "I'm Brian!"
I shook my head and turned away to meet Bryce.
"Y/n, it's me." He said, "Say my name. If you remember me, say my name."
I hesitated, "B-Bryce?"
He turned away, but quickly turned back and screamed, "I love you! How don't you remember? I'm Tyler!"
"I'm sorry." I cried. My head began to throb as tears continued to flow down my face, "I'm so sorry."
"Y/n," another voice said. I turned and saw Anthony, "do you remember any of us?"
"Apparently not!" I yelled, "You just get mad when I say your names even though you told me them earlier!"
He took a deep breath and motioned to himself, "Who am I?"
More tears fell from everyone in the room when I choked out, "Anthony."
He shook his head sadly, "I'm Craig."
They just stared at me. No one said anything and I couldn't even look at them. It was them, it looked like them and sounded like them.
"I don't know who Marcel, Brian, Tyler, or Craig is," I said, "but should I?" I looked up and they all nodded. I sighed, "I'm so sorry."
"You should be." Ryan growled. I was going to turn to him, but a gun shot woke me up.
I gasped and looked around the room that I was in. Same one as earlier. I groaned and relaxed on my pillow, "It was a dream."
I took off my blankets and got up the same way as before. I stood up and saw that Ryan never moved the chair. I grabbed it and tried to use it to guide me through the dark. I hit the wall and search for the light. I turned it on and was met by the same boring room that I can't remember.
I opened the door and looked around. All the doors were shut and because I'm so lucky, I really had to pee. I looked down and saw I was still wearing my oversized shirt. I looked around the hallway and wanted to yell. Which one's the bathroom?
I sighed. Eight doors. One my room. Six others are theirs. Fuck my life.
I growled and turned to go back inside "my room" but a voice that I have never heard before said, "What are you doing?"
I turned and saw Luke diagonal from me. He wasn't wearing anything besides pajama pants so you can see his muscles and abs indented on his pale skin. His voice was masking, like he was hiding something. I don't know what it was, but I was very intimidated by him.
"I-I need to use the bathroom." I stuttered.
He pointed down the long hallway. I looked down it and quietly groaned. I started wobbling against the wall, slowly making my way to the bathroom. He didn't move either, he just sat in his doorway and watched me struggle.
I looked at him and said, "You gonna sit there and stare or actually do whatever you came out of your room for?"
He smiled and pushed himself off his door ledge. He walked to me and wrapped one arm around me and grabbed my hand and started to guid me down the hall. We got to the bathroom and he opened the door, let go of me and went into the bathroom.
I stood outside the door and he slammed it in my face. Is this one always rude to me?
My urge to pee just got worst and worst as I stood there, waiting for him. I felt awkward knocking on it and asking though so I didn't.
He finally opened the door and smiled evilly, "Sorry, had to fix my hair."
I knotted my eyebrows as he walked around me, not breaking eye contact. I finally turned to the bathroom and wobbled in. I did my business and washed my hands. I opened the door and jumped at the sight of Luke just standing in the doorway.
"You don't take as long as I thought." He said.
I shrugged, "How long did you think I was going to take?"
He shrugged, "As long as it takes for you to build a fucking robot."
I raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me?"
He laughed, "Don't act like you don't remember."
I shook my head, "I honestly do-"
"Oh really?" He interrupted, "You don't remember anyone? You don't remember the names Marcel, B.R.I.A.N., Craig, or Tyler?"
I widened my eyes, "Luke, how'd you know what I dreamed about?"
That's when he got confused, "Wait, what?"
"I had a dream that Bryce, Ryan, Anthony, and David were around me and they were yelling at me to say those names. They saying that they weren't themselves but they were Tyler, Craig, Marcel, and Brian." I explained.
He was quite for a moment, then said, "So you don't know a Tyler, Craig, Marcel, or a Brian."
I shrugged and shook my head, "If I do I seriously don't remember."
"How far back can you remember?" He asked.
I shook my head, "I don't remember any date or what happened last; I just remember things about me, like my age, name, and eye color. I don't even know where I am right now."
"You're lying."
"Why would I lie about this?" I whined, "What is so special about me where I have to lie to you?"
He pushed me into the bathroom and closed the door. He grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and pinned me against the wall.
"Criminals have a funny way of getting what they want." He growled.
I sat there for a second, scared and confused, but then I pushed him off me and his back hit the sink. "What's going on then? Why don't you tell me what my plan is because I clearly don't know it." I demanded.
He growled and squinted his eyes, "N/n."
I knotted my eyebrows and looked around. After a while I said, "What?"
He was about to probably call me a liar again but then we met eyes. I saw his whole mindset just change. He went from not believing a word I said to understanding my situation.
He placed his hands right under my shoulders and started to rub them. He got very close and said, "You wouldn't hurt a soul. At least, not too bad."
I just looked at him, confused, "What do you mean?"
He smiled, "You won't kill anything but you'll hurt it bad enough to get it out of your way."
"Anyone would if they really wanted something, right?" I asked.
He nodded. He moved his hands up to my face and said, "I wish he was as merciful as you."
I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
He sighed, "You can't let Ryan know I told you, but we're bad guys. We steal money, hurt people, and so far we haven't been caught."
I nodded. Why doesn't Ryan want me to know about this? If I've known him forever, it should be something he should've told me at the beginning.
"About two years ago, my girlfriend and I were eating with each other at the park and someone...very dangerous recognized me. He knew killing me was too easy, so...he killed her." He said. He was sad, but didn't cry. I opened my mouth to say something, but he continued, "He could've choose any other day in the year and he chose the day I was going to ask her..." his words trailed off as he looked away and took his hands off me.
I took a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be, he's gone now." He said.
"How?"
He looked at me and said, "I'm friends with heroes."
I nodded and said, "Do you still think about her?"
He nodded and laughed, "She's the reason why I haven't had a date since." I chuckled a bit at that, but we both stopped and he said, "This is another thing you can't let Ryan know I told you, but you were in a group of guys. You all were known as the villains. Their names were Marcel, Tyler, and Craig and you built a robot named B.R.I.A.N."
I raised an eyebrow, "I was a bad guy?"
"One of the worst." He said, "But you're smart. You can stop stealing and still make over a million dollars. The rest of us can't. Anyway, you left for two years after you broke out of prison and everyone thought you were dead. That was until Ryan saw you when he was visiting Nevada. Then he got the idea to somehow get you on our side so he kidnapped the villains and waited."
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked.
"Because I didn't want a new member. I refused to work with Ryan until he kidnapped the heroes. My best friend is a hero and I'd do anything for him." He explained.
I was quite for a moment, "I don't remember."
"I didn't expect you to, but if you see or hear them, you'll most likely remember." He said.
I sighed and looked away. That's why they should fake sadness and why something seemed off. I looked back at him, "How can I trust you?"
He shrugged, "Like I said, I don't want another member. If I can get you out of here without hurting you, I'm going to try."
"Why does Ryan want me to think we've been friends for a while?" I asked.
"He thinks he can make you fall into a schedule that you never even knew about." Luke explained, "You're great with computers and I'm pretty sure that the only reason why he wants you on the team."
I leaned on the wall and quickly got back up due to the pain. I looked at my wound, "What's the actual story behind this then?"
"When you wer-"
The door opened to revel Bryce. He scrunched up his face when he saw us, "It there a party going on in here?"
I pointed at him, looked at Luke, and said, "Is everyone against me being here or is it just you?"
"You told her?" Bryce said.
He shrugged, "I wasn't gonna lie to her."
"Luke, Ryan's going to kill you." Bryce whined.
"He ain't gonna lay a hand on me." Luke said and pushed himself away from the sink.
"He's not going to be ha-"
"Then just don't tell him." He said as he walked out.
I walked up to Bryce, "Why did you lie to me if you don't want me here?"
He sighed, "Ryan's one of my best friends and I don't want to make him mad."
"What he means to say is that he's too scared to stand up for himself." Luke said from the kitchen.
Bryce glared at him. He looked back at me and gentle moved me out of the bathroom. He smiled sweetly then went inside it and closed the door. I looked over and saw Luke making coffee. I walked to the kitchen and sat at the island. He turned around and saw me.
"Coffee?" He asked.
"Tea." I answered.
He nodded and turned around. Why did I say tea?
I heard the bathroom door opened and turned to watch Bryce walk to us. He took the seat next to me and said, "I feel guilty for having you here, but you're not that bad. I've never seen Luke actually open up to anyone that fast."
He shrugged as he turned around, "I don't see why I shouldn't. Ryan already told her our names and she knows where we live."
Bryce nodded, "Maybe having you around won't be so bad."
"When I finally remember, is there anything I should be mad at you guys about?" I asked.
"The fact that we kidnapped you and your friends." Luke said as he handed me my tea, "Or the fact that Ryan shot you in the back."
"What?" I asked instantly.
"Goddammit, Luke." Bryce said, "You weren't suppo-"
"I wasn't supposed to say anything," he smirked, "yet here we are."
Bryce looked at me, "Don't let Ryan know you know."
I nodded. I clearly don't know who Ryan actually is nor how he works, but he better pray that I don't remember because right now, I'm going off what people I don't know are saying.
