3. Ricks alive?

Me and Grace were walking back from our tent when we saw Lori giving Carl a haircut. "Hey Lori, can you cut my hair after Carl please?" I asked her. My hair was really damaged at the bottom from where it hasn't been cut in months.

"Of course I can. I can do yours as well Grace if you want?" She said to Grace more as question then anything else. Grace nodded showing that she did. "Baby, the more you fidget, the longer it takes, so don't, okay?" Lori said to Carl. He really did hate having his haircut.

"I'm trying." He replied back to his mom. He wasn't trying What so ever.

"Well, try harder." She said back to him. Making me hold my laughter in. Dad was sat across from them. Why does he care so much about Lori? Dad was cleaning his shotgun maybe I'll get to use it one day.

"If you think this is bad, wait till you start shaving. That stings. That day comes, you'll be wishing for one of your mama's haircuts." Dad said to Carl. I don't think he's ever shaved in his life. Maybe once or twice but I haven't seen it yet.

"I'll believe that when I see it." Carl said. My dad chuckled.

"So will I. I didn't even think you shaved, like, ever." I said making him chuckle even more.

"I'll tell you what—you just get through this with some manly dignity and tomorrow I'll teach you something special. I will teach you to catch frogs." Dad said to Carl. It sounded something that I'd wanna do.

"Can I join in as well?" I asked.

"Of course you can sweetheart." Dad said.

"I've caught a frog before." Carl said. That's about 10 less than me. I always would go out and catch frogs when I was younger.

"I said frogs—plural. And it is an art, my friend. It is not to be taken lightly. There are ways and means. Few people know about it. I'm willing to share my secrets." Dad said to Carl. He shared those secrets to me when I was 6.

"The secrets you told me when I was 6. You know the ones that I managed to catch 11 frogs with." I said to him. Carl looked at his mom.

"Yes, those secrets." Dad said to me.

"Oh, I'm a girl, you talk to him." Lori said. Making me chuckle along with my dad and Grace.

"It's a one-time offer, bud—not to be repeated." Dad said to Carl. Why is he calling him bud now?

"And just remember I'll be there as well, you know your best friend." I said getting a smile from Carl. My dad on the other hand just smirked.

"Why do we need frogs, plural?" Carl asked. It's something called food.

"You ever eat frog legs?" Dad asked him. I liked frogs legs but they weren't the best but at the end of the day, or should I say world, it's food.

"Eww!" Carl said.

"No, yum! Isn't that right Y/N/N?" Dad asked me.

"I mean they aren't the best. But their ok." I said.

"No, he's right. Eww." Lori said making my dad chuckle a little.

"When you get down to that last can of beans, you're gonna be loving those frog legs, lady. I can see it now—"Shane, do you think I could have a second helping, please? Please? Just one?" Dad said. It wasn't even funny if we run out of food. We have to go on more runs to get more.

"Yeah, I doubt that." Lori said. I kinda forget that she was supposed to cut my hair along with Grace and continue to cut Carl's hair. My dad just chuckled.

"Don't listen to her, man. You Y/N and me, we'll be heroes. We'll feed these folks Cajun-style Kermit legs." Dad said. Cajun-style Kermit legs didn't sound that bad actually.

"I would rather eat Miss Piggy. Yes, that came out wrong." Lori said. Dad just laughed. Grace was about to but I nudged her with my elbow.

"Heroes, son, spoken of in song and legend. You Y/N and me, Shane Y/N and Carl." Dad said.

"I like the sound of that." I said my dad nodded in agreement. Dad and Carl laughed. All of a sudden I could hear a car alarm approaching us.

"Hey, Dale, can you see what that is?" Someone said. No joke I was kinda scared of being killed by whoever these people were.

"Talk to me, Dale!" Dad kinda yelled at Dale.

"I can't tell yet." Dale said. I was getting really nervous. What if something bad happens? Grace noticed and was telling me to breathe calmly. Before wrapping me in a hug. I'd gotten panic attacks since mom died they became worse when this whole thing with the virus started happening. It's because I could lose Grace or you she could lose me. I need to stop thinking about that.

"Let him get a good look at it." The same man said that I didn't know.

"Is it them? Are they back?" Amy said. I was hoping it was and that we weren't gonna get our camp raided and then slaughtered.

"I'll be damned." Dale said whilst looking at the car coming are way.

"What is it?" I asked Dale. I was curious now I just wanted to find out so I wouldn't need to panic anymore.

"A stolen car is my guess." Dale said. I was hoping it was one of the group that went out. The red charger came up to us only to reveal. Glenn. "Holy crap, turn that damn thing off!" Dale said. It was sure to attract walkers anytime soon.

"I don't know how!" Glenn said. Typical Glenn. Grace had stopped hugging me now seeming as I didn't have to worry anymore.

"Pop the hood, please. Pop the damn hood please." "My sister Andrea –" Amy and my dad said over the top of each other.

"Pop the damn hood please!" Dad shouted so he could be heard over the top of Amy. Glenn managed to release the hood of the car.

"Is she okay? Is she all right?" Amy said still talking. I really hope that Andrea is ok.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Glenn said getting out the car. "She's okay! She's okay!" He said. I sighed in relief that she was ok. What about T-Dog, Jacqui, Merle, Morales are they ok?

"Is she coming back?" Amy asked. I never thought of that.

"Yes!" Glenn said. I was happy knowing that. Dad was pulling at some wires in the car. Jim and Dale was stood over there as well now.

"Why isn't she with you? Where is she? She's okay?" Amy asked all those questions at once.

"Yes! Yeah. Fine. Everybody is. Well, Merle not so much." Glenn said. When he said that Merle might not be ok I looked at Aria. She had tears in her eyes. I pulled her into a hug and she cried into my shoulder.

"He's gonna be ok, alright?" I said to her. No one can kill Merle except Merle. She knew that. Everyone knew that.

"What if he's not? You don't know that?" She said into my shoulder.

"Remember no one can kill Merle except Merle." I said to her. We pulled apart and she smiled nodding her head.

"Thanks I needed that Y/N." She said to me I nodded.

"Are you crazy, driving this wailing bastard up here? Are you trying to draw every walker for miles?" Dad said. I doubt they would they never come up this far.

"I think we're okay." Dale said. I believed him a lot.

"You call being stupid okay?" Dad said to Dale. He truly scared me today and I didn't like it one bit.

"Well, the alarm was echoing all over these hills. Hard to pinpoint the source." Dale said. I nodded my head in agreement along with Grace and Aria. Dad just glared at Dale.

"I'm not arguing. I'm just saying. It wouldn't hurt you to think things through a little more carefully next time, would it?" Dale said. That's if there is a next time. We could all die tonight or tomorrow.

"Sorry. Got a cool car." Glenn said. It was a cool car I'm not gonna lie. I heard a truck approach and come to a stop. It must be the others. Glenn was smiling. Aria just looked at the ground.

"Amy." I heard Andrea say. I looked at Amy who was crying.

"Andrea! Oh!" Amy said to her older sister.

"Oh my God!" Andrea said.

"You scared the shit out of me." Amy said. I laughed that's how Grace would act if I went out on a run.

"Papi! Daddy!" Louis said running up to Morales.

"Hey." Morales said to Louis, Eliza and Miranda, his wife.

"Come here, sweetie." Lori said to Carl. Morales was holding Miranda and Eliza. I guess it reminded Carl of Rick. He looked like he was gonna cry.

"Hey. I told you I'd be back, didn't I?" Morales said to his family. I saw Lori kneel down in front of Carl who was crying. It killed me seeing him so sad.

"You are a welcome sight." Dale said to Morales. Giving him a hug. I walked up to T-Dog and gave him a fist bump. We were really good friends. Grace walked over to us and gave T-Dog another fist bump. Dale and Morales started laughing. "I thought we had lost you folks for sure." Dale said. That was the worst thing he could say. What if we did lose them and we never saw them again.

"How'd y'all get out of there anyway?" Dad asked them.

"New guy—he got us out." Glenn said. Who is this new guy?

"New guy?" Dad asked. As if he could read my mind.

"Yeah, crazy vato just got into town. Hey, helicopter boy! Come say hello." Morales said. The truck door shut. To reveal the one person everyone thought was dead. The one and only Rick Grimes. "The guy's a cop like you." Morales said to my dad.

Dad saw Rick and a look of disbelief and was on his face. I looked away and saw Carl look at his dad. He ran up to him, Lori behind him. I didn't realise I was crying until T-Dog and Grace pulled me into a group hug. We were like a miniature family. But the one question that I can think of is. Ricks alive?
