We'd be walking and driving around for what felt like years. Lori was getting even more pregnant and the rest of us were getting more restless. I don't know how we were even managing we still had nowhere to call home. We were just looting random places a lot of the time. It wasn't long until we cleared a new place out to stay. I was in the kitchen with Carl. "Dog food that's a place to start." I said to him before we walked into the main room. He got a can opener out and was just about to eat it. Rick took it and chucked it. We were all in silence. We were starving.

"Psst." T got out and we had to run again to the cars. This is how it was now. Running from our problems knowing that they would never end. We then went to the road and stopped Grace and I were protecting what was behind the cars. Anything coming from that direction I'd shot them. I watched as Daryl and Rick went off. Maybe they'd find us a place. And they did. A prison. We then went over there.

"Watch the backside!" Rick said as he cut us an opening into the yard.

"Got it." Lori said before we all started heading inside. I made my way with others and got my knife out. I was gonna need it. For once I wasn't scared of walkers. Even if they were prisoners. We made it to the opening gate.

"It's perfect. If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick off these walkers. We'll take the field by tonight." Rick said to us, it seemed like we had a solid plan to play out.

"So how do we shut the gate?" Hershel asked us all and I looked at him.

"I'll do it. You guys cover me." Glenn said to us. He was really going to risk his life like that.

"No. It's a suicide run." Maggie said to him and she had that right.

"I'm the fastest." Glenn said to us and Rick started walking over.

"No, you, Maggie, Ellie, Grace, Y/n and Beth draw as many as you can over there. Pop 'em through the fence. Daryl, Aria, go back to the other tower. Carol, you've become a pretty good shot. Take your time. We don't have a lot of ammo to waste. Hershel, you and Carl take this tower." Rick said and I went over with the others. T was joining us as well. I was doing quite well at this whole stabbing them.

"Come and get me!" I shouted at them all.

"Yeah, come on!" Grace shouted and we were all stabbing. They then started following the shots, the shots Rick was issuing. He closed the gate though. Soon it wasn't long until we started shooting the walkers down. This place the start of our new home. Once they were all dead we all ran inside. We had space.

"I'll race you." Grace said to me and we raced across the yard. Once night set in we all huddled around the fire.

"Mmm. Just like Mom used to make." Glenn said to us after eating. He then tossed the bone. I was just enjoying the little food I had.

"Tomorrow we'll put all the bodies together. Want to keep them away from that water. Now, if we can dig a canal under the fence, we'll have plenty of fresh water." T said to us, over these past months he'd become me and Grace's guardian.

"And this soil is good. We could plant some seed, grow some tomatoes, cucumbers, soybeans." Hershel said to us and I liked the idea of having a garden. "That's his third time around. Is there was any part of it compromised, he'd have found it by now." Hershel said to us and he was right. It was getting colder so I went over to T and hugged him. Grace joined in.

"This'll be a good place to have the baby. Safe." Beth said to Lori. Hopefully we'd be inside soon. We'll tomorrow.

"Bethy, sing Paddy Reilly for me. I haven't heard that, I think, since your mother was alive." Hershel said to his middle daughter.

"Daddy, not that one, please." Maggie said, it clearly met something to her.

"How about The Parting Glass?" Hershel asked and Beth looked at him.

"No one wants to hear." She said to him, no one was saying that at all.

"Why not?" Glenn asked her with a smile.

"Okay." She said to us. "Of all the money E'er I had I spent it in good company And all the harm E'er I've ever done Alas it was to none but me And all I've done For want of wit To memory now I can't recall So fill to me The parting glass Good night and joy be with you all" She sang before looking at Maggie.

Maggie and Beth sang together making me smile.

"Beautiful." Hershel said to us all.

"I would've played my guitar if you said earlier." I said to them all with a smile. I still had it. I was never leaving it behind.

"Better all turn in. I'll take watch over there. Got a big day tomorrow." Rick said to us and I looked up at him.

"What do you mean?" Glenn asked him, I wasn't tired at all.

"Look, I know we're all exhausted. This was a great win. But we've got to push just a little bit more. Most of the walkers are dressed as guards and prisoners. Looks like this place fell pretty early. It could mean the supplies may be intact. They'd have an infirmary, a commissary." Rick said to us, we needed medical supplies.

"An armory?" Daryl asked us, Rick knew these things.

"That would be outside the prison itself, but not too far away. Warden's offices would have info on the location. Weapons, food, medicine. This place could be a gold mine." Rick said to us and I looked at him, this was the new paradise.

'We're dangerously low on ammo. We'd run out before we make a dent." Hershel said to us and I looked at Grace.

'That's why we have to go in there...hand to hand. After all we've been through, we can handle it, I know it. These assholes don't stand a chance." Rick said to us before walking away to go patrol. Lori went after him. Once the morning came around we all got prepared to fight well us kids didn't. We caused a distraction instead and stabbed through the fence. Only a few of them went inside.

"Where'd they go?" Grace asked me as we looked around through the gate.

"There. Right at the back." I said to her and we looked at them. Some of them had riot gear on. That must've been the last thing that happened. A prison right. There was a lot of dead folks in the courtyard. They then went up a set of stairs. Completely out of our eyesight. They must've been scoping the place out for us, making sure we had a home. Soon we were brought inside. Into the new home, cell block C. A cell each.

"What do you think?" Rick asked as he walked down the steps.

"Home sweet home." Glenn said to us all and I smiled.

"For the time being." Rick told us, but this. This could be forever were enclosed.

"It's secure?" Lori asked us as she looked around.

"This cell block is." Rick said and I looked in the cells. This was going to be so cool.

"What about the rest of the prison?" Hershel asked us, this was enough for today.

"In the morning, we'll find the cafeteria and infirmary." Rick said to us and that sounded like a plan.

"We sleep in the cells?" Beth asked us all.

"I don't think I'm comfortable doing that." Ellie said to us all and we all looked at her.

"Dude, we'll be fine." Aria said to her.

"I found keys on some guards. Daryl has a set, too." Rick said to us all. They wouldn't be locked. We'd be free.

"I ain't sleeping in no cage. I'll take the perch." Daryl said to us and Grace and I headed to a cell.

"Hey, Carl. Be our neighbor." I said to him and he smiled at us.

"Sure as long as we can talk at night." He said while looking at me and I smiled at him.

"Of course." I said to him and he walked into the cell next door. I took bottom bunk.

"You and Carl. When is it going to happen?" Grace asked while looking down from her bunk.

"I don't know." I said to her and that night I went to his cell.

"I thought you wouldn't come." He said to me and I smiled as I leaned on the door frame.

"We'll you clearly don't know me well at all. I thought we grew up together." I said to him and he smiled at me. He patted a spot on his bunk.

"We'll, I do know you. Like I know when your scared because you do a thing with your eyebrows. And when your sad you play your guitar. So I'd say I know you." He said to me and I had to give it to him he truly did know me.

"Well I take it back you know me extremely well." I said to him and he looked at me with a smile.

"I also know that you like me." He said to me with a smile and I looked away. I felt my cheeks turn pink.

"Is it a problem if I do?" I asked him and he smiled at me.

"Not at all because I feel the same." He said to me with a smile. I looked at him and kissed him quickly.

"I, um, I should get going." I said to him all flustered. Why would you do that?

"Yeah, we should get some rest." He said to me all flustered. I then went back to me and Grace's cell. This was definitely going to be awkward from now on. Maybe it didn't have to be though. When it go around to morning the guys and Maggie we're going out to find the cafeteria and infirmary. But I didn't plan on being stuck here all day.
