14. Pretty much dead already

It was the next morning now. I wasn't hungry so I passed on eating breakfast, I saw Maggie stood on the porch of the house so I decided to join her. "Hey, is their livestock or something in that barn because I don't think anyone uses it?" I asked her. That had been bugging me the whole time we'd been here.

"Did Glenn say something?" She asked me. What could Glenn possibly tell me. Did he know?

"Not that I know of. Why would he?" I asked her. There's definitely something going on in that barn that she doesn't want anyone to know about.

"Can you keep a secret?" She asked me.

"I can." She looked out me. "I promise my mouth will be zipped shut." I said to her she looked relieved.

"There's walkers in the barn." It wasn't that big of a secret. I could keep my mouth shut about that for ages. I saw Maggie shaking her head staring at Glenn. I think Glenn told them because they all looked shocked and surprised. "I guess it's not a secret anymore." I guess it wasn't either.

Me and Maggie were collecting the eggs from the chicken coop when Glenn came over. "Hey, Maggie just talk to me." Why would she want too, he lost her trust. Maggie walked out the coop and I followed her. "Maggie. Hey." He said trying to catch up to us.

"Give me your hat." She demanded him. Why would she need his hat. "You said talk to you, I'm talking to you." She said with her hand out. "Give me your hat." Glenn gave her his hat, she put an egg in it and smashed the hat on his head making the egg go everywhere and run down his face.

"Why would you waste an egg like that?" He asked with a look of confusion and anger.

"I think it was rotten." She told him. We walked away and we both started laughing. We high fived each other and walked back to the farm house with the eggs. I handed her the basket with the eggs I collected and went back to the fire laughing. When I got back Glenn was wearing Dale's hat which made me laugh even more. It got to the point where I had actually collapsed in a chair laughing. Glenn was just glaring at me.

"It's not that funny." He said. Well it was karma of course it was funny. And that hat he was wearing made him look like an old man. No offence Dale.

"That's what you get for losing her trust, Glenn." I was still laughing. Grace walked over with Ellie they looked confused. I couldn't make words anymore so I just pointed to Glenn who was wearing Dales hat. They still couldn't make out what was funny, so I decided to try to calm down and tell them. I had managed to go back to my normal and calm state. "When me and Maggie were collecting eggs from the chicken coop. She asked Glenn to give her his hat." I started laughing again just remembering the next bit that happened. "She put an egg in his hat, and she smashed the hat back on his head, and the egg broke and ran all down his face." I said and they joined in with my laughter. Glenn didn't look very impressed that I told them but oh well. What else am I about going to talk about exactly. How's the apocalypse? Oh it's the same as always. Is that what I'm supposed to say.

I could see Andrea and dad at the barn probably keeping watch. Those 2 have got so close lately it's like there dating. Ew. I sat at the porch of the house when Carl joined me. "Hey. I still haven't heard you play the guitar yet like you promised." Was he trying to get me to play the guitar in front of him. Which would be like a 1 person audience unless someone else joined and watched.

"That was because when I was going too but I was needed at the hospital. Then this whole thing happened and I never saw my guitar ever again and the one Dale found was the only I've seen since." I said. "But I'm willing to walk all the way back to my tent to grab it and play a tune for you." I got up and started walking to the tent to go and grab the guitar. Carl waited for me on a log by the fire. When I walked out of the tent I could see him talking with his mom. He saw me and we made our way back to the porch. I sat down and tuned the guitar so it would sound the correct way. I played a song that Maggie, Beth and Ellie taught me, it was called shattered glass. Of course I didn't sing I just played the notes. I finished playing the song and Carl started clapping.

"That was really good." I couldn't tell weather he was lying or not. I could see Rick with a walker at the end of a snare pole I had no idea what was happening. Was he leading it to the barn.

"What's your dad doing?" I questioned why wasn't he killing it, that thing could kill us in our sleep. I don't feel safe with walkers in the barn but I know I'm not going to die from them at least not unless something bad happens and the doors break. The rest of the group was gathered round us. Dad walked over to us and was passing guns out. He tried to offer me and Carl a gun but Lori put us behind her back. I could see Grace looking confused as to what was going on. Did she not see Rick leading that walker on a snare pole like 4 minutes ago.

Dad started shouting at Rick and started shooting the walker on the snare pole. He shot both of them. I hid behind T-Dog not knowing what else to do. Dad started walking to the barn doors and breaking the lock with at pick ax he had. One by one walkers started to come out. Everyone started shooting them. Maggie, Ellie and Beth's mom was in there. I could see them all crying. I felt bad for them, their dad thought they were sick people who he could save. But they were dead and are going to kill all of us one day. I kept focusing on my guitar that I left on the front porch. We were pretty sure that all the walkers were dead until we heard it.

Soft growling noises coming from the barn. It stepped out of the barn only to reveal. Sophia. She was bitten on her neck. I started crying T wrapped me into a hug and I cried into his chest. I saw Carol start running to her but Daryl stopped her. They collapsed to the ground, crying. Everyone was in shock we all thought we were going to find her but that was a lie. Because she was in that barn the whole time. The only thing you could hear were the cries from her mother wanting her daughter to still be alive. The cries from children seeing their friend dead. The gasps from people losing hope about a little girl that they thought was alive. The moans from a walker that was once Sophia. Then silence broken by a single ear piercing gunshot that ended the moans. The end of Sophia.
