Shoyo woke up to see his sister next to him, tubes were stuck in his arms and he had a painful headache. His leg felt even worse.

Shoyo looked around, the room wasn't familiar. It was completely white, 'a hospital' was his conclusion.

Shoyo woke up his sister, the girl looked so happy to see him. She pounced on him with a hug and tears in her eyes.

"Hey Natsu," he said but she didn't hear.

Shoyo tried again but it didn't work, he tapped Natsu's shoulders and she looked at her brother.

She motioned to her ears before shaking her head, he quickly understood what she was saying.

She lost her hearing in the accident.

A nurse came in and saw the two hugging.

"Hello Shoyo~Chan! I'm Nurse Kohana Misumi but you can call me Hana. I've been taking care of Natsu~Chan!"

"...H- hello"

"Do you feel any pain?"

"My leg and head hurts..." Shoyo mumbled.

"Here's some water and pain medicine. It should help."

"Thank you! Ca- can you tell me what's happened to us both? Where's our parents?"

"Oh I- I'm so so so sorry but your father died at the scene."

"No!" Hinata yelled out, tears sliding down his face.

Hana brought the child into a hug, he was so small and young, yet so much pain and misfortune was brought upon him.

She hugged the two gingers in a loving motherly embrace. She always wanted kids but couldn't, when she was younger her father wanted to rape her without worrying about getting pregnant so he got her Tubal ligation, also known as getting her tubes tied.

The doctors were on the black market who did the surgery but after not getting paid they called the cops. Lying and saying they had been told she was in her twenties instead of sixteen.

Hana was put into foster care and never wanted a child to go into that. Especially not these two bright happy kids.

Hana took a deep breath before looking at the boy, his sobs were now whimpers.

"Your mother, she disowned you two. I asked Natsu and I'm going to ask you, do you want me to adopt you two. I know this is sudden but you had no other family."

"I- If Natsu wants it then I'm okay with it. As long as Natsu's happy."

Okay, I'm glad to hear. She said as long as she had you."

"Then I- I guess you're our new mother I can't call you mom I-I'm sorry..."

"How about I'm your Auntie?"

"I like that!"

"Okay now Shoyo, do you want your injuries first or Natsu's?"

"Natsu's" Shoyo said with little hesitation.

"Okay well she lost her hearing in the accident. Even if she gets hearing aids she'll never speak again. Her vocal cords messed up making her physically mute."

"No no no Natsu!" Shoyo said, squeezing his sister into a hug.

"I've been teaching her JSL and I plan on teaching you as well."

"Can we also learn ASL? It could be useful incase Natsu ever wants to reach out to others like her."

"That's smart. I can take classes and come teach you two afterwards."

Shoyo smiled brightly at this.

"Now your injuries are much more serious. You got a concussion along with losing over half of your left leg. The bones turned to dust in the accident and we had to amputate it."

Shoyo was shocked, he moved the blanket to see his leg was now shorter, it stopped right where the knee should start.

Shoyo cried harder while clinging onto Hana. She had this welcoming and calming aura and she was so nice. Taking in a mute deaf 7 year old girl along with a disabled 8 year old. [AN: I know that Natsu is supposed to be younger but for the sake of the story go with it!]

Shoyo was stuck in the hospital for another two months. In that time Natsu refused to leave his side so they ended up putting another hospital bed in the room for her to sleep on, not that she did anyways.

Shoyo hasn't seen his mother since the accident, it was depressing but he got over it. Shoyo and Natsu were learning both JSL and ASL.

Natsu was already in therapy, she wasn't as bad as Shoyo. She had trauma, abandonment issues and anxiety but was using Shoyo to help cope.

Shoyo had a therapist come to his hospital room and talk to him then. It was about a month into therapy and being in the hospital when this conversation happened.

"How are you today Hinata~Kun?"

"The flashbacks don't come every night now. Now I see my mother's face and her walking away into the darkness and never returning..."

"It seems you also have abandonment issues as well as Natsu."

"I-I guess..."

"Anything else wrong Hinata~Kun?"

"I miss my friends and kids my age. I also miss running on my school's track team..."

"I can't do anything about running but what if next visit I bring another patient of mine? He's a few months younger than you."

"Really!" Shoyo asked, his eyes sparkling instead of being the dull brown it was minutes ago.

"Yes, He suffers from similar mental issues as you. I can ask and see if he wants to come next visit."

"Thank you Mr. Michi!"

"Your welcome Hinata~Kun. Now I have to leave for the day."

"Bye Mr. Michi!" Shoyo said, excitement in his eyes.

Natsu ran back in the room and started to sign to him. They signed back and forth talking about what happened in Shoyo's therapist session. It was something they did with each other.

'I had a dream about our mother' Shoyo admitted.

'Oh what about?' Natsu asked, her face darkened. She hated that woman with all her guts, Shoyo did as well.

'She looked at me as if I was trash then walked away into the darkness.'

'Well your not trash, she probably saw a mirror'

Shoyo burst into laughter at that.
