Dex's POV

I keep my head down as I hurry to class. I didn't want to run into him.

But of course, my luck ran out right as I got to my next period.

"Hey there," Fitz taunts, looking me in the eyes and clenching his fists.

Fitz Vacker; tall, dark brown hair, teal eyes, football player, and pretty much every girl's dream guy. 

"Hi," I squeak.

"What are you doing, Dex?" He asks menacingly.

I hate him.

"Uhh..."

"Well then maybe this will help you remember." He then proceeded to put me in a headlock and cut off my air supply.

I clawed at his arms weakly, trying to escape his grasp. 

"Nice try Dexy," he told me before I passed out.

Fitz's POV

"Why do you do it?" Asks my best friend, Keefe Sencen.

"Do what?" I reply, checking out a blonde girl from across the hall. I'm pretty sure she was close to fainting when I winked at her.

"Bully Dex."

I pause. "I don't know."

And it was true, I didn't know. I just felt this hot, overwhelming urge to punch him every time I saw his face.

Because he was Dex Dizznee: Nerd extraordinaire. Strawberry blonde hair, freckles, sweet smile, too smart for his own good, you know, the classic geek.

All he was missing was overalls and glasses.

"Well that's not a good reason," Keefe mumbled.

"I know. But he's just so...punchable."

"He ended up in the nurse's office!"

"He'll be fine."

"She'll give him a mint and tell him to walk it off!"

"Well..."

It was true, the school nurse sucked. A kid could come in there with his arm cut off and she would just give him an ice pack and tell him to get back to class.

That actually happened once.

Well, his arm was later confirmed to be broken, but I'm sure it hurt like hell. And the nurse did not give a shit.

"It's fine," I told Keefe. "This happens to Dex all the time."

Keefe was new to the school. Like, one week in new.

I can't believe we got a new student when we were just a month into the school year.

I walk into my next class, which was with the nerd, and wave goodbye to Keefe.

Third person POV

"Today we will be assigning parters for a project that will last the entire school year," the teacher, Mrs. Johnson says to the class. "You will pick a topic and study it until the last month, when you will turn in your projects to me."

She began to read a list of names. 

"Biana and Sophie." Biana was Fitz's Brother and Sophie was rumored to be her girlfriend.

"Linh and Marella." They were confirmed to be a couple.

"Fitz and Dex."

Oh shit, Fitz thought.

Well, I'm doomed, Dex said internally.
