"Come on, Jase! Let's dance!" Piper grinned, grabbing his hand and pulling him onto the dancefloor. Her randomly braided hair flew around her face as she began dancing crazily, not even caring as her short black skirt rode slightly up her leg.

Sure, she was scarily hopped up on sugar, but it didn't matter. It was finally Jason's sixteenth birthday and, after a half-hearted dinner and a small slice of plain sponge cake with his father, step-mother and sister, Thalia, he was out partying.

To be honest, it wasn't really Jason's cup of tea. He preferred quiet family birthday's, but he hadn't had a good one of them ever since his dad had brought home Hera. As soon as Jason had seen the bleached blonde hair, the huge fake boobs, the perfectly manicured nails and the dazzling white smile, he had hated his new step-mother.

But here, at the local youth club, with his beautiful girlfriend Piper dancing madly in front of him, he couldn't help but smile. He felt his troubles slowly fall away from his shoulders in the bright strobe lights and pounding music.

Suddenly, the music changed into a slower song, and all the couples walked onto the floor together. Piper looked confused, so Jason gently wrapped his arms around her. He guided her hands around his neck and they swayed together, staring into each others eyes.

It was bliss.

The final notes of the song echoed around the large room, and Jason bent his head. He captured Piper's glossed lips in a slow, loving kiss. It wasn't rushed or chaotic, but long, full of pure passion and love.

Eventually, Jason pulled away. His girlfriend's eyes were shining as she bit her lip, staring up at him in awe.

"I love you," she whispered.

"I love you too."

"Come on! Mom'll be wondering where I am!" Piper half-shouted to Jason as they walked outside, twirling around and around like an over-excited child.

"I'm coming!" Jason laughed, jogging a little to catch up with his girlfriend's spinning form. He gently caught her as she tripped over her own feet, chuckling softly.

"Bet ya can't catch me!" She taunted suddenly, sprinting away whilst giggling madly.

"Pipes..." He groaned, before running after her. Suddenly, he heard her scream something.

"Stop!"

But Jason couldn't stop. He couldn't slow down quickly enough. He turned his head madly, the world blurring around him.

Two bright lights, a screech of brakes, a scream, and a jolt of sudden pain as his head hit the ground... that was all he could take in before the world dissolved into darkness.
