"Oh my god, Piper! Why are you crying? What's wrong?" Thalia panicked. When Piper had phoned her with a stuffy voice and the occasional sob, Thalia automatically had thought of the worst: Jason had broken up with her.

I'm gonna kill that boy if he has... Thalia told herself angrily. Though she loved her little brother, she did not want him to break the heart of such a kind-hearted, sweet girl when she had just brought him pretty much every single gadget on the market for his sixteenth birthday.

Sure, Piper's parents were in fact Tristen and Aphrodite McLean, a popular celebrity couple who pretty much every girl and guy in New York crushed on, but Jason had certainly not been expecting a brand new Apple watch, iPhone 6, iPad and various other devices which were pretty expensive just because he was officially a year older than he was last year!

He hadn't complained, though...

"I-It's Jason," Piper snuffled. Thalia could practically see her snuggled in a blanket on her bed with crusty tissues coating the floor around her.

"Pipes, did he break up with you? Cause if he has-"

"N-no," Piper interrupted, voice cracking slightly. "He... he g-got..." she trailed off, sniffing before blurting out. "Ran over. He-he got ran over..."

Thalia felt as though a large fist had smashed into her stomach as cold despair ran through her veins, making her shiver violently. She gulped, a lump in her throat, before snapping into action mode, pushing the sadness aside for now.

"Right, Piper. Where are you right now?" Thalia heard muffled voices at the end of the phone before Piper replied.

"In an ambulance, heading to Long Island hospital."

"I'll be there as soon as I can. Stay safe and don't do anything stupid, ok," Thalia ended the call sharply, pushing her choppy black hair from her eyes and letting out a long, stressed sigh.

I have to tell Dad! She realised, standing up suddenly and rushing into the living room. Her father and Hera stared up at her from the sofa, while some soppy soap opera blared on the TV.

"Dad, it's Jase. He's been ran over, and him and Piper are heading over to Long Island hospital," Thalia gasped, her heart pounding in her chest so quickly it felt as though it was going to burst right out of her ribcage.

Her dad's face morphed into a look of horror as he jumped up from the sofa, scrutinizing his daughter as though trying to detect if she was lying or not. His eyebrows scrunched together.

"Sweetie... no. You're kidding right? You're messing me around again. Thals, I know I didn't buy you that-"

"I'm being serious, Dad. Piper just called. She seemed pretty upset: she kept sobbing and sniffing. And you know Piper wouldn't joke about things like that."

Her dad tapped his foot, wringing his hands unconsciously... just like Jason would do when he was nervous or stressed.

"We need to go. Yes... yes we need to go," He grabbed his phone and walked over to the other sofa to pick up his jacket, just as Hera stood up and leant down to pick up her handbag.

"Oh dearie! That's terrible! We'd better be quick!" Thalia's step-mom cooed, tottering over to Thalia with a big, fake sympathetic smile. At that moment, something inside Thalia seemed to snap, and she turned to her step-mother.

"No! You are not coming!" She shouted, shocking both Hera and herself. Her piercing blue eyes shone with hate as they glared at the person who was supposed to replace her mom.

"Thals, calm down," Dad sighed, stuffing his car keys into his pocket.

"No! I will not calm down! She is not coming with us! Jason hates her, anyway!"

Hera let out a loud, dramatic gasp and draped her arm over her forehead in a 'damsel in distress' pose. Her dad, however, shot his wife a sorry look before telling Thalia to get in the car.

And only when her seatbelt was on, her father was sitting next to her, and the car was speeding down the road, did Thalia Grace allow herself to cry.

I think the relationship between Jason and Thalia is just so adorable!!! Awww...

Anyways... I'm actually quite enjoying writing this book, which is kinda bad cause it's a sad book, but I've already thought of chapters which will happen faaar from now! Yayayayay!!!
