5: Honey / Pine
Corey POV
"Rowan...we need to talk about the kiss." She looked just as nervous as I felt. I didn't know how to talk to her about this. We had been through so much together, but I didn't know if I was ready to be in a relationship with her, especially if her parents wouldn't approve.
"Like a...define the relationship sort of thing?" She asked, one eyebrow arched in a confused expression.
"Yeah, you could say that. See, Rowan, the thing is...I love you." She grinned wide. "But..." I continued, her face shadowed over. "I don't know how your parents would feel about us. And Peyton and Sabrina wouldn't be able to know. I don't know how many people we're going to have to lie to to be able to pull off this relationship."
She cut in. "-And you're worried the other cast members and your friends will make fun of you for dating a girl two and a half years younger. I knew it. I'm leaving." She had misunderstood.
"No." I grabbed her wrist gently and pulled her into my chest. "I don't want to date, then breakup and not be friends anymore. I want you to always be able to talk to me when you need to, and for us to hang out like family. I want your parents to always be comfortable with me, and I want you to always feel like you can tell my anything. I want us to stay friends, forever." I smiled a little, and she just looked at me in awe.
"Wow Corey. I don't even know what to say. I love you too. And I feel the same way. Should we...try it for a little while and see how it goes?" She looked hopefully into my eyes.
"Sure." Rowan started to walk away to her dressing room. " And Rowan?"
"Yes, Corey?" I walked up to her, and pulled her close to me again. I kissed her deeply, then squeezed her hand comfortingly and let her walk away.
I went back to my own dressing room and thought about us. About Rowan. I sat down at a piano that I saw. (We're gonna pretend he can play piano, okay?) I plinked a few notes, then started to sing a song I knew.
Fell in love with a beautiful girl
And she still takes my breath away
I fell in love with the morning sun
while the hours slipped away
Sometimes when I hear your name
A smile creeps on my face
And for some reason I can't explain
It's not ever out of place
'Cause I love you
More than you think I do
And I love you
Now you don't want me to
'Cause I love you
More than you think I do
I kept playing, and heard a knock at the door, telling the person to come in without caring who it was.
Rowan walked in and came behind me, wrapping her arms around y shoulders and kissing me on the cheek. She started to sing the girl's part
You ran your finger down my back
And spelled out your name
While we lay on the soft warm ground
For a week and thirteen days
I fell in love with a beautiful boy
And you still take my breath away
Then I sang.
When you left it was the end of the world
'Cause I never thought to say
After that, we sang together, finishing off the song.
I love you
More than you think I do
I love you now you don't want me to
We laughed together, kissed again, then I asked something I thought I never would.
"Rowan, will you be my girlfriend?" She giggled, blushed, and jumped into my arms as I stood up.
"Corey, I would love to be your girlfriend."
"We can't tell anyone."
"Not even the press, our families, our friends or the cast members." She finished.
"Rowan, thank you."
"For what?" She asked, a cute smirk on her face.
"Everything. Being my best friend, being family, and supporting me. And now, for being my girlfriend. You're a beautiful girl."
"In that case, thank you too, Corey Shain." She knew it bothered me when she called my name with my middle name, but this time, it sounded loving.
"Would you do me the honor of coming with me to Disneyland tonight?" I asked calmly.
"Yes, I would. Thank you for asking."
"Anytime." She hugged me, and we sat on the couch, talking. Eventually, she fell asleep on my shoulder, and the smell of her honey shampoo lingered in my nose.
I nodded off soon enough, and we cuddled as we slept.
A few hours later, we were woken to the sound of my dressing room door slamming against the wall and a bunch of people shouting, "COREY!" I jumped awake, and mentally facepalmed myself.
I had forgotten that the cast was staying after for a cast party today, so they would be here later than us. They were gonna see this.
"Why is Rowan next to you, Corey?" Danielle asked. I shook my head.
"We were just talking and she fell asleep. Then I fell asleep. We didn't do anything. We're still just friends." She nodded her head, but obviously didn't believe me.
The rest of the cast left and I woke Rowan up by tickling her. She woke up, and screamed.
"COREY STOP!!" She squirmed away from me, but then she stroked my knee with her fingernails. She distracted me, and it tickled a lot. I rolled on the floor and fell onto my bean bag. She fell on top of me, tickling me.
I only stopped her by grabbing her by the face gingerly and kissing her pink lips.
We left the room, and I threw her one of my jackets since I had a few in my room. I grabbed her hand, and we sauntered out into the wintry night. It was snowing lightly, and I wrapped an arm around her to keep her warm.
I opened the door to my dad's car for her, and she got in. I got in on the driver side, and sat down, putting the key into the ignition and driving to my house.
Rowan waited in the car while I got some money, my phone, sprayed on some cologne, and told my parents I would be gone for about another three hours. They listened, and told me I could go as long as I was back by ten.
That meant I had four hours instead of three! I hurried out to the car, and got in. Rowan smiled at me, I pulled a beanie back over my dark hair and pushed the pedal to go forward.
Rowan POV
About a half hour later, we arrived at Disneyland and Corey looked over at me while we were at a red light. We parked and got out.
I wanted to ride several rides. First we went on the Dumbo ride, and the Pirates of the Carribean ride. After that, we went on the Tower of Terror, and I clung to Corey, screaming a little. He laughed and kissed my cheek as the camera flashed.
We went to Epcot, looked around at the mini towns, got some dinner at the different places, then rode Soarin'. After that, we found a Ferris wheel, and kissed at the top.
Too soon, it was almost ten. I wrapped an arm around Corey's waist and leaned into him. We had time for one more ride, so we went on the Rock n' Roller Coaster. The music was blasting, and we took a picture with our hair blowing and our mouths wide open.
Corey played one of the ring toss games, and won me a Stitch stuffed animal. I hugged it tight and then wrapped my arms around Corey's neck embracing him even harder than Stitch. He smelled like pine, and I absorbed it for as long as I could
We left at around ten, which meant Corey still had to take me home. He was going to miss his curfew.
"It's fine," He said sneakily. "Just tell your parents you're staying at a friend's. That's not lying."
I nodded, texted my parents, and got in the car. Corey drove to his house, and went inside. His parents were watching TV. He unlocked the back door and let me in, then sat on the stairs.
I took off my shoes silently, and followed him up to his room. He changed into his pajamas first, then threw me a pair of his sweatpants and a large Broadway t-shirt. It smelled like pine, like him.
I blushed a little, then walked to the bathroom to change. His clothes were a little big, but I liked it. I threw my hair up into a messy bun.
When I walked back into Corey's room, he was already asleep, his chest rising and falling steadily. I kissed his forehead gently, and curled my head into the crook of his neck. I felt his arm wrap around me, then my eyelids slipped slowly shut.
FLUFFY COWAN FEELS!!!!!!!! Well, in all seriousness, I really hope you enjoyed that.
