Chapter 6

It had been a few weeks since the nightmare incident, and ever since that night, I had been staying with George. I woke up one morning to find myself alone in George's bed. I quietly got up, walked down the hall and into the living room. I looked into the kitchen to find George making breakfast. He looked up from what he was doing and smiled at me. "Good morning, sweetheart. You sleep well?" He asked.

"Morning, love," I said. "I slept wonderfully. What about you?" George smiled a bit. "I slept just fine," he answered. "You want some breakfast? I made blueberry pancakes."

I nodded and walked over to him, yawning silently. "That sounds wonderful, sweetheart." He grabbed a plate out for himself and I, and he gave us two pancakes each. I fetched the forks, milk, and syrup and carefully placed them on the kitchen table where George had set our plates.

He finished cooking then finally sat down at the table, and I sat down across from him. We then began to eat. When we had both finished, we sat there silently for a while. Then George spoke. "Aurora," he began, a smile forming on his face. "How would you like to go out tonight? Just the two of us. We can go anywhere you'd like." I smiled softly. "George, I think that's a wonderful idea. What shall we do though?"

George thought for a second and then smirked slightly. "How about we go dancing? And then maybe we could go for a walk under the moonlight." I smiled dreamily. The thought of spending the night alone with George seemed wonderful, but it also made me a little nervous. "So, would you like to?" George asked. I nodded. "That would be the most wonderful thing in the world."

I bit my lip gently and remembered I had a problem. I didn't have anything to wear at all. The only dress I had with me was torn, and I still had no shoes. I would have to buy them. "George, there's only one problem I have with going dancing tonight." He looked a bit nervous. "And that is, sweetheart?" He asked quietly. "I don't exactly have the right clothes for dancing here with me."

George nodded and laughed slightly. "Right. I suppose that is true. Well, how about I go pick up a dress and a few other things while you get ready later?" I shook my head. "I don't want you to waste your money on me," I said simply. "It wouldn't be wasting anything. I want to do this." I rolled my eyes. "Alright, fine. But only this one time."
