Kelsey's POV

I wake up and look out the window. We're home! I get out the car. Anne opens the door and runs to me. I jump in her arms. She's crying. Which made me cry.

“Come on baby. ”

She took me inside and straight to my room. She had me change clothes, then she tucked me in my bed.

“Anne, where's Michael? ”

She seemed annoyed at his name. “He's still in the car. ”

“Can you tell him to come here? ”

She forced a smile and said, “Yes. ”

Anne's POV

I am not telling that pathetic excuse of a man what she said. I don't want him anywhere near her.

I walk outside and I see Michael walking toward me. I stop him.

“Go home. ”

“What? I want to be with Kelsey. ”

“She doesn't want to see you. At all. ”

“What? Did I do something? ”

These words infuriated me.

“Yes you did something! You let her get hurt! Now leave! We don't want to see your face ever again! ”

He clenched his jaw. His eyes watered. He wiped them and went to his car. I watched as he backed out of my driveway.

Kelsey might not approve of what I did, but she'll understand. I'm protecting her now.
