I DISCUSS AND RATE THE SONGS OF EPIC: THE MUSICAL BASED ON HOW I FELT WHILE LISTENING TO THEM!!

I love this Musical so much and I can't want for the full thing to be finished and released. So in honor of the Ocean Saga dropping on the 25th, I'm going to be discussing each song and rate it based on how much I enjoyed it!

This part is for the songs of the Troy Saga!

i. THE HORSE AND THE INFANT

Okay so this song is the first one in the album, even if you have absolutely NO idea what's going on, you can still enjoy this song because it has a great beat to it.

The person they cast as Zeus(Luke Holt) has such a great voice. He did an amazing job playing a god asking a guy to murder a baby!!🥰

No but in all seriousness he has a great voice and I think he was perfectly cast!

This song gave us one of my favorite moments of the musical so far;
Ten years of war, they killed is slowly
But now we'll be the ones who SLAYYYY!

It's a great line in of itself but Jay's delivery of it just makes it absolutely hilarious😭

It ALSO gave us this absolutely COLD line;
The blood on your hands is something you won't lose
All you can choose is who's.

LIKE HELLO??????? Bro.

Overall I think it's a great song! 8/10

ii. JUST A MAN

This song is very slow-paced and emotional compared to the rest of the album BUT because of what's happening....its valid💀

Odysseus singing about his moral dilemma in the middle of a war before absolutely YEETING a baby off a balcony😭

Besides that fact, it's a good song and the entire last half of the song is just too good not to share with y'all;
But when does a comet become a meteor?
When does a candle become a blaze?
When does a man become a monster?
When does a ripple become a tidal wave?
When does the reason become the blame?
When does a man become a monster?

Like I just LOVE these lyrics. 7/10

iii. FULL SPEED AHEAD

Now, this song. It's GOOD but compared to the others is sort of meh and unmemorable... the highlight of this song is definitely when they just sing 'FULL SPEED AHEAD' and harmonize and shit. There's really not much that happens here besides that.

That being said, while this song is good, it's not my favorite so... 6/10

iv. OPEN ARMS

THIS SONG. It's very upbeat and lighthearted compared to the others. It's basically just Polites telling Odysseus to chill the eff out and be more open minded and optimistic. Spoiler: he doesn't agree. This takes place while they encounter the lotus eaters, so obviously they effed up but still...

This song gave us great lines such as;
This life is amazing when you greet it with open arms!

It's a cute little line that just speaks to me for some reason! Overall I enjoy this song! 7/10

v. WARRIOR OF THE MIND

BY FAR my favorite song on this album. It's so good and it's very catchy. Although I may be biased because this was the song that introduced me to EPIC in the first place so there's definitely some emotional attachment there.

BUT it did give us absolute BANGER verses such as;
Nah don't be modest, I know you're a goddess. So let's be honest, you are ATHENA! Badass in the arena. Unmatched, witty, and QUEEN of the best strategies we've seen!

Like come on. It's an AMAZING SONG. Jay is so talented!! AND TEAGAN'S VOCALS AS ATHENA?????? She IS a real life goddess actually. 10/10
