IM GOING TO BE RATING THE SONGS FROM THE OCEAN SAGA OF EPIC: THE MUSICAL!!!

I love this Musical so much and I can't want for the full thing to be finished and released. So in honor of the Ocean Saga dropping, I'm going to be discussing each song and rate it based on how much I enjoyed it!

This part is of the Ocean Saga!

i. STORM

Okay so THIS SONG. I've heard bits and pieces of it before because Jay likes to post snippets of them on his TikTok but... I WAS NOT READY FOR THE FULL THING.

It's so good.

There's a part of this song that reminds me of one of Hermes' songs(that has yet to be released) from later on in the musical and IM SO EXCITED FOR WHEN HERMES' SONGS DROP.

The "STORM" chants were just too good fr!!

Overall the song is extremely dramatic and I love it. 9/10

ii. LUCK RUNS OUT

OO THIS SONG IS VERY CATCHY!! This a song of a disagreement between Eurylochus and Odysseus and basically it's just Odysseus wanting to be reckless and Eurylochus being like 'no'.

It gives us this AMAZING chorus;
How much longer till your luck runs out?
How, much longer till the show goes south?
How, much longer till we all fall down?
You rely on wit and people die on it.

ITS SO GOOD.

The song then continues with them going back and forth and THEN the song ends with them fighting.

Overall a good and catchy song! 7/10

iii. KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE

This song, while good, is not my favorite. It's catchy and very upbeat which helps distract from the very important and darkish lyrics, which I'm pretty sure in the point.

I think like Full Speed Ahead this song is sort of just meh to me.

It DID however give us this;
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer
You never really know who you can trust.

Then ENDING of the song is definitely the climax of it, it's so dramatic and I love it. Overall 7/10

iv. RUTHLESSNESS

Now. I already KNEW going in that this song was going to be my favorite but HOLY SHIT. It was SO MUCH better than I was expecting.

I was lowkey worried that I wouldn't like the cast for Poseidon but OHMYGOD HE WAS GREAT.

This song was dramatic from start to finish. I'd expect nothing less from Poseidon.

The song opens SO DRAMATICALLY I LOVE IT. The evilish chants of "POSEIDON" over and over again gave me CHILLS.

Literal boss music, like deadass. Jay is greatly inspired and influenced by video games so this entire musical is supposed to give you animated and video game vibes!!

NOW THIS SONG IS JUST TOO GREAT AND SLAYED SO FUCKING HARD SO IMA JUST SHARE MY FAVORITE PARTS;
1. P: in all my years of living, it isn't very often that I get pissed off(a/n: yeah OKAY buddy💀)
I try to chill with the waves but damn you crossed the line.

I love the delivery of this, just one of the MANY great line deliveries by the voice of Poseidon(Steven Rodriguez)!!

2. P: That's right, the cyclops you made blind
Is mine.

This line in particular is nothing special but I'm a sucker for a dramatic reveal!!!

3. P: I'm left without a choice
And without a doubt
Guess the pack of wolves is swimming with the SHARK NOW.
I've gotta make you bleed
I need to see you drown
But before you go I need to make you learn how
RUTHLESSNESS IS MERCY UPON OURSELVES.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH YOU DONT UNDERSTAND.

4. I mean you totally could've avoided all his had you just killed my son...(dramatic sigh)but nOoo.

LMFAOOOO I know he's the villain but this part was so funny..

5. The line between naïveté and hopefulness is almost invisible

Okay Poseidon. You really didn't need to get that deep in this song fr.

I CANNOT wait for the rest of Poseidon's songs to be released and I won't even BEGIN to speak about the person I'll become when 'God Games' and 'Dangerous' drop.

THIS SONG OVERALL IS AMAZING AND IT'S AN OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE. 15/10
