I DISCUSS AND RATE THE SONGS OF EPIC: THE MUSICAL BASED ON HOW I FELT WHILE LISTENING TO THEM!!

I love this Musical so much and I can't want for the full thing to be finished and released. So in honor of the Ocean Saga dropping on the 25th, I'm going to be discussing each song and rate it based on how much I enjoyed it!

This part is for the songs of the Cyclops Saga!

i. POLYPHEMUS

Now THIS song, as I'm sure you can guess by the title, is the beginning of Odysseus' encounter with Polyphemus that yknow...ruins his life and extends his journey 20 years!!

It's a very dramatic song for basically like a 10 minute conversation💀

It's great! This song gave us great exchanges such as;
P: Stranger, what's your name?
O: My name is Nobody, Nobody, NOOOOOOOBODY!
P: Nobody, for your gift I've got one to reply
O: I'm so glad we see eye to eye (spoiler:😭💀)
P: Yes, you shall be the final man to die.

It's a great song, I LOVE the slow build of drama. HOWEVER just like Full Speed Ahead, it's very meh compared to the others. 7/10

ii. SURVIVE

THIS SONG IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it! I actually make edits for my fics to this song... it's just too good.

The pace is quick and keeps you engaged while still being able to make the lyrics legible, and it gives us what I consider, in my personal opinion, one of THE best hero/villain verse parallels ever;

O: Six hundred lives at stake
It's just one life to take
And when we kill him, the our journey's over.
No dying on me now
Defeat is not allowed
We must live through this day so fight, fight, fight!

P: Six hundred lives I'll take
Six hundred lives I'll break
And when I kill you, then my deed is over
You're dying here and now
Escape is not allowed
You won't live through this day, now, die, die

It's so good. I will never get over it. 10/10

iii. REMEMBER THEM

This song is so beautiful. I want to add specific lyrics that I adore but if I'm being honest, it's the ENTIRE SONG.

Odysseus has great lines in this song and Jay delivers them PERFECTLY. It's one of those songs that definitely give me an out of body experience.

This might actually be my favorite song on the album.... 11/10. PURE PERFECTION.

iv. MY GOODBYE

THE 'BREAKUP' SONG.

Odysseus and Athena's falling out made a great song because holy shit.

Odysseus and Athena did NOT have to go that hard...

Like;
A: you're not looking for a mentor, I'm not looking for a friend. I mistook you for a general what a waste of effort spent.

O: At least I know what I'm fighting for, while you're fighting to be known. Since you claim you're so much wiser, why's your life spent all alone? YOU'RE ALONE.

LIKE HOLY SHIT GUYS THEY'RE ALREADY DEAD. CALM DOWN.

This song is just too good!! 9/10
