Chapter Thirty Four

Five minutes after Severin had walked out of the scene and he had walked inside, with everybody talking about him leaving.

A lot of people had asked him if he was okay but he had to lie and say that he was even if he wasn't.

"Right everyone. I'm sorry for walking out but I gotta tell y'all something before I say my eulogy about Serayah."

He wasn't the only one on the stage right now, with Jordan Francis, Katari and DeVante being up with him as well.

A lot of people were confused as to why this was happening at the moment but it had all made sense later.

"Severin's been kinda lying about why he really got arrested," DeVante had explained.

He had waited for people to process that before he had proceeded.

Inevitably, someone wanted to know what he meant, with Jordan Francis explaining the fact that Serayah had been shot by Severin.

But the way he had said that had made it seem as though it was a natural thing.

As in, it was an every day event.

Oh yeah, you know. Severin shot Serayah. How was your day?

The amount of people that were gasping about that right now was insane; even Enrique here was a little bit surprised over everything.

"But why would you kill your own girlfriend?" Enrique had asked. "That's what I don't understand. Hell, that's what most of us don't understand to be honest."

"Self defence," Katari had answered. "Serayah had tried to kill DeVante."

She didn't mention the fact that the only reason she had brought out something to kill DeVante with in the first place was because Severin had interrogated her.

They didn't have any time to go into that because Severin had to do his eulogy.

Not just that but Lil Kim wanted to do one too, although virtually because she wasn't actually here right now. She couldn't make it.

That was what she had talked to Katari about earlier on.

After thanking his friends for helping him, Severin had then sighed to himself, helplessly staring at Serayah's turquoise coffin right in front of him.

This.... this was all your doing.

Stop, Severin! The past is the past.

"Serayah was...."

That was all he could have said though.

Serayah was.

Serayah was so many adjectives though, that was the thing. Both good and bad adjectives at the same time.

It had even looked like some people still needed to process the fact that Severin had shot Serayah so that was what he did.

He waited for them as he had thought of what to say, and when he did eventually think of what to say. He said it.

Serayah was a nice girl, he began. She was cute. She was amazing. I was happy to be her boyfriend.

But you know what came with that?

She was stuck up. She was rude. She was jarring. She did my head in most of the time. She had flaws just like everyone else.

I've realised that people looked down on her for that quite a bit, which isn't nice. I've even decided to make a lil rhyme about her which I'm surprised no one did already.

This rhyme was completely impromptu and unprepared for.

Severin had never done something like this before but there was a first time for everything.

S is for sweet and spicy too
Serayah could have been a handful but she was patient with you

I guess I annoyed her a few times
But she was shockingly lenient
We inevitably had our ups and downs
She was also very obedient

E is for endearing
Although she could have taken the piss
With her Severin "Instagram that"
Or Severin "let's Instagram this!"

Half of the time Instagram was all she cared about
But now that she's gone
It's the thing I miss about her the most
Without a doubt

R is for Resilient
She didn't give up on our relationship
Whether it was constant arguing
And it seemed like things had just taken a dip

It might sound as though I'm praising her and dissing her in this rhyme
But I'd be lying if I said our relationship was good all the time

A is for awesome
She had the nicest smile
Even if she took forever in the bathroom
Or do her make up
Which also took a while

The thing is with Serayah
People didn't always take her so seriously
Though when you've known her for as long as me
She starts to grow on you mysteriously

Y is for Y go there Severin?
Aka how we started most of our fights
I'd constantly bring up her flaws
And she did the same with me, like all night

There was this one time I accidentally messed with her jeans
People thought we were perfect on Instagram
They didn't know what went on behind the scenes

A is for Annoying
Serayah had her days
Serayah had her moments
Where she'd be asking me for continuous praise

But it wasn't like I hadn't given her attention
I'd given her more than enough
I loved her though. I really did
However Times could have been though.

Lastly H is for Humble, Honest, Hennessy
Serayah was a beautiful person
Like an angel from Tennessee

She'd often drink Hennessy up like it was the last drink in the world
In all honesty though
Serayah was truly a one of a kind girl

Okay it wasn't really impromptu, just after the first A. Severin couldn't have thought of any adjective beginning with Y.

That was nice.

"That's my eulogy," he had commented, avoiding eye contact with everybody after he had finished reading his poem. "And I also thought of a mnemonic for Serayah's name."

It was:

Seriously Energetic, Real & Amazing? Yes. All That's Her.

Actually that was Serayath, but Severin didn't care. It was close enough anyway. That alone plus the poem took him just over an hour to think of.

After Severin's eulogy, a lot of people had clapped for him, some people had even given him a standing ovation.

Countless eulogies were said after that, and it was finally time for Serayah to be buried, until Katari had finally remembered something.

"Wait!" She had hollered just as the coffin was going to be lifted to the graveyard. "I forgot. Lil Kim wanted to say something!"

She had then gone up to the stage to connect her phone to the computer.

That was when someone had realised who she actually was, gasping.

"Yoooo, you work for Lil Kim and Armani, innit? You that Katari chick!"

She was that Katari chick, yes. But even then she didn't really like being called that.

Either way, the reason as to why Katari had forgotten about this was because Lil Kim had only recorded herself saying all this just now.

She was too busy.

She was now on the board though, in what seemed like it, a limousine.

Hey, mourners! I'm sorry to call y'all that. I didn't know what else to call you. I'm so so sorry for your loss though, and so is Armani! Our deepest condolences.

I couldn't make it to Serayah's funeral today and I'm extremely sorry about that. You know your girl's got a busy schedule, that's why I decided to on an online eulogy instead.

I had actually met Serayah a few times before she died. She was a very vibrant girl. She was also at a few of my concerts, always wanting my autograph afterwards.

When I heard that she died, I was more than shocked. She was one of my favourite fans. I mean I understand why she died but even then... Armani and I still can't believe all of this has happened.

Earth may have lost an angel but y'all can trust God that heaven just gained another one, Armani had added, with Lil Kim nodding.

Kim and I were talking about it too. We've decided to give all of Serayah's family members free tickets to our next concert. Or tour.

People screamed when they had heard that, with someone wanting to know what about Serayah's friends.

"This ain't live, love," Katari had assured them. "It's pre recorded. But it's only family members as Serayah has a lot of friends."

Only DeVante, Severin, Katari, Jordan Francis and Solana had gotten free tickets without necessarily being a part of the family but that was it.

After Lil Kim and Armani's eulogies, Serayah was buried at the church's graveyard with some songs being sung as she was lifted down for the final time.

It was a hard day for Severin but he had gotten through it with the help of his family and friends. Now he really had to look forward.

No the book doesn't end here, even if it doesn't seem that way. it's almost over though!
