Chapter Eight
"Now I know you probably don't want to hear this but, I don't know, Acacia." Ariella had told her sister, rubbing her back. "Don't you think you're being a little bit too hard on this girl?"
Solana had just stormed upstairs with Jordan Francis chasing after her.
Jordan Francis had explained to all of them that Solana had lied about everything, which she was supposed to do herself although she was too petrified to do so.
Even though Ariella and Raymond had taken things the right way, Acacia didn't and it had all made sense as to why her name was Acacia.
Acacia meant a thorny tree.
She was very thorny, most especially to a girl she barely even knew to begin with.
"I agree," her husband Raymond had agreed. "And take this from your husband and sister. You can't judge someone you don't really know that well."
"Oh be quiet you guys. Solana isn't good news."
Ariella wanted to know why.
Why wasn't she good news?
And if she didn't want her and Jordan Francis to get married approximately one year and two months back then why didn't she say anything?
"I didn't want to make a scene at the wedding."
"Sooo, it wasn't okay for you to make a scene at the wedding, but it was okay for you to make a scene now?" Raymond had summed up. "Unless you tell us why you don't like Solana, then we can't exactly say that we're on your side."
There was a very valid reason as to why Acacia didn't like Solana.
She was just too embarrassed to say it.
It made her feel worthless, and no she wasn't jealous.
Acacia sighed.
"Solana... the reason why I don't like Solana?"
"Yes. What about it?" Ariella asked kindly.
It was hard for her to say but she did it.
The reason as to why Acacia didn't like Solana was because she had reminded her of the woman that her first husband had cheated on.
Raymond had already known about her first husband because if he didn't then that would have most definitely caused some questions here to be asked.
But he had absolutely no idea that he had cheated on her, and same with Ariella here too otherwise neither of them would have looked so shocked in the first place.
"Damn, we had no idea. What do you mean Solana was similar to the woman you cheated on?"
They had looked rather alike.
But her first husband couldn't have cheated on Solana, she would have been way too young back then.
As Ariella didn't say anything Raymond on the other hand wanted to know if Solana had any siblings: or even more specifically?
Any sisters?
She had siblings.
She had an older half-sister named Tiffany Daniels, and an older brother, Daniel, a rapper named Manhattan.
But Acacia didn't really know Solana close enough to know who she was related to.
"The woman my first husband cheated on was a lot better than me, so I could see why he left me for her. She was everything I wasn't. And when I saw Solana, I was instantly reminded of that woman. And how insecure I felt around her."
Made sense.
Also... Acacia did remember Solana.
She had just pretended she didn't because of all of this- aka the reason why she didn't like her.
"Maybe Jordan Francis is right, you know? Maybe I really do deserve to die and-"
"Acacia!" Raymond had shouted at her unintentionally. "Don't you dare wish death upon yourself because of the past. Everyone has something they're not exactly proud of from there."
Ariella had suggested that when the time was right, she should have really talked to Jordan Francis and Solana about everything.
Because as much as Acacia didn't like Solana?
Jordan Francis loved her and he had married her, so it wouldn't really have been ethical of Acacia to take away her only child's happiness like that.
"I don't even dislike her. It was just a misunderstanding, and I really do think she's wonderful. Jordan Francis and Solana make a good couple."
"Then tell her that," Raymond suggested. "And do so before they go to Paris tomorrow. In person too, because conversations are more meaningful that way. You're lucky they're spending the night."
She would have done so tomorrow.
Because she was tired, plus there was no way they were forgiving her today after everything she had put them through, especially Solana.
"As long as you do it, and we'll help you," Ariella smiled, and they all hugged each other at the end- Ariella on the right, Acacia in the middle and Raymond on the left.
Acacia was seriously grateful for a husband and sister like them.
They may have disagreed and argued a lot of times but then again, which family didn't?
In the meantime as they were talking, Solana was thinking about how much she had screwed everything up in a guest room:
Aka the room that her and Jordan Francis were supposed to be staying in.
Jordan Francis would have talked to her earlier although he really had to make an important phone call about work.
He didn't exactly tell the people there that he was going to Paris.
He wanted to do so closer to the date, so he just wanted to let them know everything before it was too late.
Jordan was getting a promotion afterwards apparently, for working so hard.
But for now... for the present day?
He really needed to talk to Solana.
After he had finished talking to his boss on the phone, he had gone to the guest room, where Solana was deeply thinking about what had just happened.
He had called her name as he had leaned against the door again as she had remained silent instead.
"You okay?"
She didn't know.
A part of her was... but a part of her wasn't at the same time.
She shook her head.
Jordan Francis had then stretched out his hands for her to hug him, which was exactly what she had done.
Then she had apologised.
"It's fine."
"Why aren't you mad at me?"
Jordan Francis didn't say anything for the longest time, but he did have his reasons.
"Do you want me to be?"
Solana shook her head, explaining how she was just curious.
"I mean I was mad at you already," Jordan Francis replied. "But if you want the truth.... I'm not mad at you anymore because you admitted you were wrong. And that's what I love about you."
The heck was he on about?
Did that even make any sense?
Jordan Francis had rolled his eyes comically when Solana had told him that whilst smiling at the same time, and he had told her what he had meant on the bed after he had closed the door.
A lot of people, in situations like this...
They wouldn't accept their mistake.
They would blame the parents. Maybe even their spouse for having such crappy parents, if they're really stuck up that is.
God forbid though. I would hate that.
But I know you're not like that.
And even if the parents did do something wrong, it's still wrong.
But you... you admitted your flaws. Not many people out there would have really done that.
Do you understand now?
Solana nodded.
Then she had thanked him for everything, but the only problem now was the fact that Acacia had said that they weren't allowed to go to Paris together.
Jordan Francis had actually forgotten about that, looking completely devastated about that as well... then he had an idea.
They snuck out tomorrow morning.
That was a beautiful idea but Solana wasn't so sure about it.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, and I hate going against my parents but there's nothing we can do. Like you said, the tickets are non refundable."
It was a good idea.
Their flight was at 9AM.
They were leaving at 7:30AM to get their plane.
Solana didn't know, and normally Jordan Francis wasn't one to pressure the girl into doing something that she didn't want to do.
But he was kind of doing so now, he was really desperate about this whole thing.
"Eh. It doesn't matter. We only live once."
Jordan Francis had hugged her after that- which was Severin, Serayah, Jordan and Solana sorted about their trip to Paris.
Next was a girl known as Katari (played by Keke Palmer) who was a model, rapper, actress and singer at the same time.
Too much work for her liking.
She just wanted to have a normal life.
Back to DeVante next chapter xx
After Katari of course.
Hope y'all enjoyed and I shall see you later hopefully
