Chapter Twenty Three

Morning soon came and Katari was greeted by Solana in the kitchen.

Even though Severin had told her that he had hidden her Chardonnay, she had soon realised that he had been lying.

"Really?" She asked, folding her arms slowly. "Because I didn't eavesdrop much but on the way here, I heard you saying that you were going to be in a lot of trouble by me if I found out about something."

That was the only thing she had heard.

What now?

DeVante and Severin were arguing over what they should have told her, and Severin had luckily thought of another lie.

"Yeah, you know that Chardonnay you like? I kept some in my room so you don't get addicted," he fibbed. "You said I should refill your cup with Chardonnay like 10 times yesterday."

Yeah, right.

That didn't happen.

Which got Solana thinking about what they were really talking about.

This happened all night and it had been bothering her. It had been bothering her so much that Katari had asked questions.

She was making toast and spreading butter when Solana had arrived.

She had looked like she had been freaking out about something, and she had.

If Jordan Francis had found out about her late nights with Severin then she was kind of done for.

Same with Severin if Jordan Francis had found out that he had been dreaming about his wife.

In other words Jordan Francis was (to an extent) the root of all their problems.

"You okay?" Katari had asked her when she had looked seemingly distraught about something.

Solana shook her head.

"What's wrong?"

"I think Severin and DeVante were talking badly about me behind my back," she explained, sighing. "I don't know what they were saying but I heard Severin say that if I found out about something, then Severin would get in trouble by me."

Then this led to overthinking.

Solana hadn't done something wrong to Severin, had she?

Actually she kind of had.

"You've been spending late nights in the sitting room with-"

Before Katari could have said Severin's name, Solana had covered her mouth and told her to shush with a finger to her lips.

So she did.

"Does Jordan Francis know about this?"

No, he didn't.

Because Solana wasn't happy in their relationship.

This was yet another thing Jordan Francis didn't know about for now.

Which didn't mean that she had to avoid him entirely but confrontation was the last thing on the girl's mind right now for some reason.

Some couples wanted to separate since they had argued too much.

Solana wanted to separate with Jordan Francis because they didn't argue enough. And from Solana's perspective, this had kind of made the relationship boring.

As what couple had agreed on almost everything?

Not just that but Solana and Jordan Francis were too different. Yes, opposites attracted but not all the time.

Solana had kind of believed that she was better off with Severin. Severin understood her in ways Jordan Francis didn't, and funnily enough he felt the same way as her.

Speaking of Jordan Francis...

He wasn't very happy.

"Ohhhhh," Jordan Francis announced, folding his arms, leaning against the door.

He had seemed relatively cross about something, and he was.

Since Solana and Katari didn't see him there, they therefore jumped when they had heard him.

"So you tell Severin and Katari that you're unhappy in the relationship, but not even your own husband?"

When Solana had realised that he was right, she cursed to herself, avoiding eye contact with a ticked off Jordan Francis.

"Jordan Francis, listen. I can explain."

"No, you listen!" He shouted, and he rarely shouted at her. "You know what? Now that we're on the subject of you being unhappy in our relationship and you didn't tell me... that's got me wondering about how long you've been unhappy for."

Four months.

Four damnnnn months.

If Solana had told Jordan Francis that, then he would have ended things.

Which, ideally was what she wanted. But not like this... most definitely not like this.

"I'm waiting for an answer! How long have you been secretly unhappy for?!"

Jordan Francis was losing his voice and she noticed that, which made things worse.

"Four months..."

He needed some time to take that all in and when he did, he was inevitably very frustrated.

"Four..." he facepalmed himself. "Four months?!"

"I thought it was obvious by my depressing facial expressions sometimes."

"I am not a mind reader, Solana!" He argued. "How I was supposed to know you were depressed because of our relationship? You didn't tell me any of this! You've been stringing me along this whole time! So you can tell your roommates that you barely even know about your personal issues and not even your own husband?"

Then he shook his head and he stormed off.

Solana chased after him... which led to another problem.

Severin and Serayah.

You've been having dreams about Solana?!

DeVante was supposed to keep this a secret and he didn't because Severin would have never told these guys.

They had a right to know.

For flip sake, Serayah! This has nothing to do with you!

What do you mean this has nothing to do with me?! I am your girlfriend, for crying out loud! You've been dreaming about some chick who's married to Jordan Francis! And you didn't tell me! I lowkey had to find out everything from DeVante!

Jordan Francis and Solana had their own problems, but when they had heard Severin and Serayah's, they were not very happy.

You've been dreaming about my wife?! From Jordan Francis to Severin.

And you've also been having late nights with Severin? To Solana.

Soon to be ex wife, probably.

Severin, is this true? Solana wanted to know, with all of them looking at Severin pretty darn angrily. Why didn't you tell me about this sooner?

Come to think of it, that was probably what they were talking about and it was.

Then came DeVante.

Severin had no mercy, he started fighting him because he wasn't supposed to tell anyone about his potential crush on Solana and he did.

Severin pinned DeVante to the wall with DeVante doing the same thing, and they were shouting pretty loudly at each other.

Jordan and Serayah were trying to hold Severin whilst Solana had tried to hold DeVante but even that was rarely working.

This is all your fault!

And how the damn hell is it my fault, Severin?! DeVante bickered. You were gonna keep this whole thing a secret for goodness knows how long, so when I do you a favour? I should be receiving thanks, not shade.

Thanks over what, huh? Thanks that you broke the promise you made me? You were supposed to be my best friend and-

"Enough!"

That was coming from Katari as she had stood on a chair to get their attention.

The five of them had been arguing so much that they had kind of forgotten about her as well as how she must have felt about the whole time.

They were looking at her now as she had knocked some senses into all of them.

"Now look. It is nine o'clock in the morning you lot! I can not be spending my morning listening to the five of you yakking on about only God knows what! It's by far too early for this! And even later on during the day, arguing is still wrong! You guys are aged 25-30. Not aged 10-15! Please. Act that way!"

Then she had told them how it was either they had solved their problems and they had gotten along with each other.

Or they had stopped speaking to each other entirely.

Sadly they all still had to stay with each other until the end of the seven day retreat whether they had liked it or not. They couldn't have left any earlier than that, whether they had paid for it or not.

The five of them had looked at each other.

Then at Katari.

Unfortunately for Katari...

They weren't speaking to each other, which was very evident when they had all headed off in separate directions and slammed the doors at the same time.

All six of them had argued before, some more than others....

It had never been this bad though. They had never all been mad at each other at the same time either.

Great, all of Katari's roommates weren't talking to each other.

And even though she was kind of expecting this, she wasn't at the same time.

I need to put this right somehow: I don't really know how to.

She wasn't going to do it by herself though, of course not.

Because first she needed advice from Lil Kim and Armani on what the hell to do.

Imagine being in the middle of a fight since everyone is mad at each other and no one is mad at you. That's sadly how Katari feels. Wow. I would hate that. I would hate that so much.

But hope you enjoyed the chapter either way!

I'll explain who's mad at each other and why in the next chapter because it's a huge chain.
